Oh man! I love love love reading all these updates! It sounds like we are all moving on the right direction and making great progress! 😁
-
For those that cannot eat.. I’m definitely getting hungry now... it’s kinda scary!
-
How are you feeling? Have you made it to the doctor/ER, yet? Keep us posted, please!?!?
-
This was close to my purée phase: although I struggled to really eat until about week 4.
-
I’m so sorry you’re dealing with a cold.. I completely understand! At 3 weeks post op I went to the ER with a 103 fever thinking I was having complications with my stomach.. turned out I actually had the flu. It does get better and you will get there! Lay low, stay hydrated and take it one day at a time! (( hugs ))

I googled: gastric sleeve what to eat week 5... and this came up as a pdf file:

Here you go!

I know everyone is on different plans and at different stages.. but I was really looking for a better direction on my meal planning and found something that has helped get my head wrapped around this a little more, hope it can help someone else!

2 ways: pan “fry” it.. but with cooking spray or lemon juice.. and seasonings.. I also found crab meat at Trader Joe’s and will put some with it, too! Yum! ( the crab meat has lasted me for over a week.. a little goes a long way! ) I also put it in the air fryer with no oil.. it was good, just not as good as the pan.. lol

My winter coat zipped up!!! I have not had it on in 2 years!!!
-
I have a weird pain in a similar location.. but it’s when I lay on it, and it just started this week- I’m 4 weeks out. It’s not terrible but it is annoying. Keep us updated from your appointment on Monday!
-
What are some of your favorite things to eat in soft foods so far? I’m loving flounder right now and cannot seem to get enough of it.. I could eat it for all 6 meals!
-
Awesome!!!! I have not even tried mine.. I keep avoiding the situation.. lol
-
Y’all.. I just had a second non-weight happy dance moment!!! I can sit criss cross on the floor with my students!!!! I’m soooo excited!!!!
-
Hang in there! This must be the dreaded first 3 week stall. Just keep plugging along and the scales will start moving again! You got this!
-
My day 16-19: I am the fine winner if the flu... good times right after surgery! I guess the upside to having 103 fever in the ER after surgery is that you definitely get bumped to the top of the list to get seen! ( some people had been waiting 5-6 hours at the hospital)

Hang in there, I am a firm believer that things like this happen for a reason! Your new day is coming super soon! 🤗
-
I was sleeved on the 13th and I feel so super dehydrated in the mornings.. so I drink all day, am getting about 50 oz in and feel great at the end of the day.. it seems to be a never ending cycle for sure.. but on the positive, I’ve lost 15 pounds since surgery, less than 2 weeks!

Small victories early on!! I went from holes 1 and 2 to hole 4, comfortably!!!!
-
Yikes.. I would be scared to use lemon juice too.. but maybe seep ginger in some water.. that would be a little more soothing. But, this phase should not last much longer! Hang in there!
-
Hang in there! The first 3-4 days are the absolute worst and you’re half way there! Just keep sipping as silly and redundant as it sounds. I had to go back to the ER because it caused such an awful pain... I live by my phone timer now! So, whine away, we are all in this together! Hugs!

Hi honey... gosh, I sure wish the two of you a speedy recovery. You’re both in my thoughts and prayers! So ideas for extra protein: Fairfield milk, yogurt, powdered milk, ricotta, bone broth.. I also YouTubed some ideas and there are several recipes for the full liquid diet, I can only imagine there will be tons for the purée diet. ( I’m just not there, yet) You’re doing great and keep up the amazing work!

Hi all.. just wanted to let you know that dehydration is no joke.. and does cause issues with the pancreas... it’s extremely painful and will cause you to be in full clear liquids.. aka.. water for an extra week. I just left the hospital because I was having serious pain on my left side- I’m very glad I went to the ER and didn’t try to wait it out much longer (12 hrs was a long enough wait). Please please please for the love of all things holy, sip sip sip and sip some more.. even during the night! Lesson learned!

Y’all... 5 days out and close to 14 hrs later today... I finished my first fill protein shake post surgery!!! It’s for sure been a long week!
-
Thank you both. I sure hope so.. this stinks, as I’m so worried about dehydration.
