Maybe Telly and Funny can get together to make sparkling spring water?

I'm just far too HOT to be posting my pictures online. And I am full of it. The milk of magnesia didn't work

My boss just stopped mid conversation and said "You are one thin looking dude...". Considering I am nominally 1 pound heavier today than I was last week - I needed that I blame it on the gym - that one time visit clearly built a pound of muscle. yeah. Thats it. Or it could be that I just can't get the hang of keeping myself hydrated and eating fibre.... nah... its muscle I tell ya. *grin*

Not exactly what I mean't - it wasn't that I was in fear of wrath. Let me draw this up in an equation for you all: Loving Wife + Husband playing insane practical joke != happy fulfilled marriage I'm a sensible man, I would indeed prefer to beat myself to death with the wet end of my freshly self severed arm than wake my stressed wife out of a dead sleep by using a camera and shaving foam. If you can find a husband willing to do the shaving foam and camera thing, I think it best if you go ahead and put him back in the padded cell before he hurts himself. I have now filed this under "Duh".

Here's my selection: I hate it when the customer calls at 4:57pm and demands I stay late to get this super super mondo supremo urget task done. I hate it when I fall asleep in the living room and wake up unable to figure out who I am, where I am, and which way is up. I hate it when I start looking forward to Milk of Magnesia. I hate it when the hypehndoophenator pump slips of the reciprocating flange and the indicator Fluid leaks out. I hate it when I lose my train of... hmm nice shoes. Those will do :grouphug:

Actually, I have that going already. You will note the section marked "Others" I also have that broken out in the table just above the Doctor list.

You have to take BMI with a pinch of salt. It is a measure for very broad averages. The more muscle you can get, the less BMI means. You will want to get an accurate body fat calculation done before you put yourself up against the BMI 'standards'. One thing I'd recommend is (and I'm trying to get away from this mentality myself) is not setting a hard 'goal' weight. The primary goal is to be healthy and happy. I set myself a goal weight of about ~210 pounds because that is my 'healthy' weight according to the BMI scale. I now think that this is going to be absurdly low. I'm going to be spending some good solid time at the gym (started yesterday - finally) and I'll be focusing on changing the remaining pounds of fat into muscle. That in mind, I doubt my weight will continue to drop on the level it has. Rest assured though GFG'ers, any weight gain I have will be muscles!! JA!

Well, I don't have a single reference point, but the broad lines are as follows: Adult BMI Super Obese: 50+ BMI Morbid / Class III Obesity: 40 to 49.9 BMI Class II Obesity: 35 to 39.9 BMI Class I Obesity: 30 to 34.9 BMI Overweight: 25 to 29.9 BMI Average: 18.5 to 24.9 BMI Underweight: Below 18.5 I've put this together from various medical journals but I haven't found a decent ordered list that details them all (but there is now!). Most BMI Calculators (but not all) only go up to Class I Obese. As for the calculation, I do that myself to. (weight deviced by height (in inches) squared, multiply the result by 703). The "Super Obese" class is kind of a new thing that may not even be an official class, but it is out there (basically - its greater than 200 pounds overweight). I think thats probably the most thorough answer I've given to anything in a long long time...

Okie Dokie folks. I have a SOSV (Sort Of Scale Victory) to share. I've been described on here by some (after giving advice) as "some morbidly obese unbanded person". Well. As of today they can now describe me as "some overweight, but no longer clinically obese, person". Yep! my BMI has now hit 29.8 which is below the boundry for class 1 obesity. I am now merely... overweight! Can I get a whoop whoop???

For a while there mine was called "ooh noo.... God help me..." but then I gave up beer and fast food.

Greetings folks! Just checking in to prove that I still live :grouphug: Things are moving along on the weight loss adventure. I am only a couple of pounds away from losing the office title (self appointed) of "Fat Bastard". I am actually starting to feel some benefit of the weight loss (finally) and I almost feel ready to...exercise! I won't be taking part in the competition, but I'll be cheering everyone on and standing by with the sacred tuna to provide an adequate fish slap for anyone who deserves it (and you be careful Ms Captain Crunch - the fish IS on standby). Dawg's words of wisdom for May: "Life is a journey, start enjoying the trip before you reach the destination.".

Hey there Linda Welcome to LBT and good luck with the surgery!

'lo everyone! Happy Easter to all. I have survived work again and continue my weightloss. Wish I had more time to spend on the boards but between work and learning new skills - my mental capacity is already running on emergancy backup. Keep up the good work everyone! I'm going to drop my current weigh in, just incase I don't make it back before wednesday. C 250 (-57 total, -2 this week)

This is ongoing and I've no plans on closing it out at any time. Erosion - in a nutshell. The band begins to work its way through the stomach wall over a period of time, for reasons which are (at the moment time) unclear. The band can be absorbed entirely into the stomach cavity which (of course) renders the band ineffective and brings with it a number of other complications. Upon erosion the band is typically removed and, after a 'cooling off period' to allow healing, a new band can be reinserted. Erosion is frequently not considered an 'emergancy' level operation but most surgeons will remove eroding bands as a matter of urgency. I recommend that everyone concerned about erosion seek consultation with their surgeon.

Thanks for the best wishes everyone! We don't do gifts on birthdays for each other. We just focus on making each day special rather than singling one out And as for how old I am? About 1041573600000000000 nanoseconds. Give or take a few.

Hey there Apple With regards to the Swedish band, its still under medical trial in the states so its a bit too soon to really give it a fair shake of the stick. Secondly, you didn't mention who your Doc is.

Greetings all interested Bandster type folks! I've been a bit slack on keeping this as up to date as I was, mainly due to work being an abject pile of horse poop. They keep trying to kill me with over work but I am fighting on. I'll try and get at least a weekly update done for the stats. All the best!

'lo all! I am still alive but work is attempting to render me unconcious by way of exhaustion. Here is my check in. I need to take an evening to try and catch up! C 254 (-53lbs total, -2 this week) :whoo:

Gteetings Gone for Gooders Just so you all know, I've been working stupidly large amounts of hours on a new and difficult work project and have been more than pooped by the time I get home. I am checking in now and again and P'Nut keeps me in the loop on how everyone is doing. Looks like some of our bunch have been having some rough times, and my thoughts are with you. I am also proud to see that no one needs a fish slap! Excellent work everyone.

Ja! New thread!
-
'lo all! Life has been a bit on the busy side for me this last week or so, but here's my official weigh in.... C 256 (-51 pounds total, -3 this week) As P'Nut said... 50 gone!! :whoo: :heh:
-
First... Welcome Mary!! Second... Here's a serious indicator of being unfit: As P'Nut said, we went to the gym for our assessment, part of which was doing about 15 or 20 gentle squats (to check posture and whatnot). My legs are burning today as much as when I used to go on forty mile bicycle rides!! I have some serious pain coming up in my future... and like the sick puppy I am, I'm looking forward to it! Hoooya Drill Sergeant!! Gung ho! Gung ho! Gung ho! :laugh

Medicine is a practice. Whether its thirteen or thirteen hundred - something can go wrong, everything can go right. Experience can be a good thing, it can also be a bad thing. Consider doing the same thing thousands of times. Are you as focused as you were the first twenty times? The medical community are made up of dedicated (but eminently fallible) humans. In my opinion, you take the same risks by having surgery. If you feel good about him, and he inspires confidence in you, use him.
