  3. Aww, I'm sorry you're feeling this way! Just remember that it is all in your head. People at the gym are probably not looking at you and judging you, and even if they are...they're the one with a problem not you. Most people are too preoccupied with themselves at the gym to be looking around and judging other people. Bottom line: No one has ever experienced growth from being in a place that is comfortable. We must step out of our comfort zones in order to make the most of this life. Good luck with your future gym endeavors!

    Pre Op quitting smoking cannabis

Hmm. The THC in marijuana binds to the receptors in our submandibular glands, which causes them to stop receiving messages from our nervous system leading to a reduction in saliva production. Thats why a lot of people talk about weed causing dry mouth. Sounds like you may have had a bad reaction to the smoke itself? Did you experience a throat hit? Did you eat anything after smoking?

    Pre Op quitting smoking cannabis

I doubt it was from smoking. You might have given yourself a panic attack thinking about how you might have a bad reaction after surgery which resulted in the negative physical symptoms you experienced. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I feel this! My mother and I both have the sleeve (done years apart though). We went out to eat about a week ago, ordered an appetizer, split it, and still had enough left over for my mom to bring some back for my younger sister to eat. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  8. Okay, im glad to hear that. I was basing my response off your "SO I think VSG can help cure the hunger issues and when I get back down to a lower weight help keep it off" comment Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    October 2018 Sleevers

Yes, I buy premade meals. Another member recommended the Real Good Food brand. They have a lot of high protein low carb foods that you can throw in the microwave. I also do the high calorie, high protein premier protein bars. As mentioned, they are high calories but have tons (30grams) of protein. I don't find myself hungry very often so these work great as a meal for me. I will also do foods I dont have to cook like deli meats, cheese, yogurt, oatmeal, and fruits. October 2018 Sleevers

Was sleeved 10/2 and I'm feeling pretty good! Went from 228 the day of surgery to 192 (today). I'm happy with my progress. I've been meeting with a personal trainer once a week and have been trying to go to the gym to do cardio every other day (I usually go every 3 days, I need to be better about it) my biggest accomplishment so far has been being able to go out to social gatherings, parties and other food oriented places and not eating anything there! I honestly dont really even have cravings when I'm out anymore. That was my biggest downfall pre surgery. I have never been the type to keep food at home but I always gorged myself when out somewhere. So now that I am not eating while out, I just eat my healthy food at home. I admit though that my home menu is not that extensive. I was cooking every night for awhile but it got overwhelming fast. As someone who lives alone, it doesn't make sense to be cooking every night. Next hurdle will be winter break where my whole schedule is messed up. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. My go-to on the soft food phase (and still) is oatmeal. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anxiety

Hey! I had pretty severe anxiety leading up to surgery. Even had panic attacks surrounding it. The feelings are totally understandable. We experience anxiety over the unknown. If you've gotten this far though, you must really want it. You just have face your fears and know that they are probably unsupported. My anxiety about the surgery was way worse than the surgery itself. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Vsg is a restriction tool and will not necessarily reduce your cravings or get rid of your hunger. If you look through these forums you'll see that many people are still experiencing both hunger and cravings after surgery. Sorry to hear about your diarrhea. Personally I think having it pour out is better than being clogged up but that's just me. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Shrinking the liver

Each surgeon has different requirements depending on your starting weight. I was not required to do any liver shrinking diet. I was only on liquids for 24 hours before surgery to make sure my stomach was empty during surgery. It seems like your surgeon thinks that your liver will shrink an adequate amount with only restricting your diet to dairy, meats, and nuts. Rejoice in the fact that you don't have to suffer through a 7 week liquid diet! Good luck with your surgery!

    Please send me some music

I know not a lot of people are into country but currently I've been feeling Make it Sweet by Old Dominion. Very upbeat song.

    Water intake

Also agree on the sugar free popsicles. Also trying different temps of fluids has helped a lot. For some reason, hot drinks go down a lot easier.

    Protein vs Sugar

I agree with the above posters...theres tons of pre-made shakes out there that are low in sugar. Gotta do some research.. I find that premier tastes the best. Isopure and Unjury are pretty good also.

    December 2018 sleepers

Call your surgeon's office and they should be able to prescribe you something for nausea
  21. I am sorry that I cannot help you out but I agree with the above poster that it is totally ridiculous that they make you buy all this stuff! $320 for the kit is outrageous!

    I am Approved January 2019!!!

    Congrats!
  23. Just take your time with the transition and do not move onto soft food if you do not feel ready. It took me quite awhile to transition over. Make sure all the food soft and not dry.
  24. Yes, I've been living on coffee these last two weeks. Its hard to survive the end of the semester without it. I think I've been doing well with vitamins and sleep. The hydration part is always a challenge but I've been doing better. I've hit a major weight loss period where the pounds are just falling off so I'm thinking maybe this why I am so tired.
