    So CAL Bandsters

GotGlock21 - I think it's great that you are starting up something for Bandsters locally. Count me in! I think it's important to share our experiences with one another and to encourage each other with our progress. I know I always have questions and would love to chat with others while I go through this. So whether it's Starbucks, the beach or wherever just let me know and I'll be there. Thanks again! Ev

    So CAL Bandsters

It's just so wonderful to hear that we are all losing, whether it's slow or fast. And for VLP, great for you. You'll love the band and know it's the best thing you ever did! I know that's how I feel. I was banded May 23rd and I'm down 26 lbs. so far. I just got my first fill yesterday so I'm on liquids now and won't know till tomorrow how the restriction feels. I do wish there was a support group nearby though, because I would surely attend. I am near the Lakewood/Long Beach area and would love to meet with others that are banded at least once a month to hear what they are experiencing - what works and what doesn't. But, so far haven't found a support group in the area. If any of you know of any near this area, I would love to know more. Thanks in advance and happy losing to all!

HI there! I'm in Los Angeles, CA. Not too far away from you. I'm new at this so I don't have my ticker/surgery dates up. But, I was banded in May and so far so great! Ev22

May 2006 Band Crew ~ June Chat

I just wanted to thank everyone for the putting down the Welcome mat for me and making me so welcome in group of May bandsters. I am still doing good. I just can't wait till my next appointment so I can add more variety to what I'm eating. My doc said only mushy veggies, fish and cottage cheese for now and although I've gotten pretty creative, it's starting to wear a little on me. The other day I caught myself sucking on a Cheeto just to get the flavor in my mouth --:nervous ThanKs again!

May 2006 Band Crew ~ June Chat

Hi everyone, I am totally new at all this, so if I am interrupting anyone's conversation - I am so sorry. Will get the hang of it soon hopefully. I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you that I was banded 05/23 in Los Angeles and had outpatient surgery (in at 11am, out by 3pm). So far so great. I am down 20 lbs and I feel FANTASTIC. I was very fortunate and had only a bit of discomfort the day after the surgery. I am eating mushy fish and avocado for the most part, the rest is just Water and veggies mushed up. Hope all of you are doing GREAT! Ev22
  6. Thanks for the info. Myra, I will check it out Ev22
  7. Hello! Although I have been reading all your very informative posts for months, this is my very 1st post! I was banded on May 26 in Los Angeles. Mine was an outpatient surgery so I was in at 11:00 and out by 3pm. I had the best experience ever! I am very fortunate because I experienced only mild discomfort for about a day after the surgery. All has been downhill (weightwise) since then. I am down 18 lbs. as of this morning and I feel fantastic! I am, however, also looking for a support group in LA and that is what prompted me to post. If anyone is interested in gettting together, count me in! Anyhow, thanks to all for wonderful posts. Always remember there are people like me, who never post (until today) but watch from the sidelines and benefit greatly from your experiences and great information I have read for the past 6 months. Thanks again!
