Hospital Bill
Liz The New Me replied to Shanda_2019's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my insurance deductible all paid up. So there was no bill. But if there was I would always have them bill me. Once I paid them, then after all was entered into the insurance company I did not need to pay them. Took 4 months before I got a check back from them. -
Let us know if it's working for you. I just bought a jump rope. Learning to be a kid again!!! Was not that good when I was younger and know it's just as hard to relearn to jump rope. Can't you tell I'm not that corradiated. LOL

The scale is finally moving again
Liz The New Me replied to Excited for a new me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
3 week stall for me! That's when I realized the lack of sleep I was getting from all the stress I was under. Finally got a full 7 hours and the scale started to move again. -
I am allergic to aspartame and soy. So I use the Garden of Life Raw organic Meal in Chocolate of course. I put in it a small hand shaker with the metal ball, use water on the road or at home Almond Milk unsweetened.

Thank you so much for posting that. Made me feel that I'm normal. So this old lady is doing just fine! LOL

Churchgirl, Thank you for your honesty. Baseball Mom, I feel you pain. On some level we are all dealing with some sore of messed up **** in our life and all deal with it the wrong way. With me it is with food. When I'm stressed out or angry I turn to food for comfort. So I'm learning to change that habit also. You are not alone.

I have been in a stall for about 3 weeks now. I finally broke it by realizing I have not been getting enough sleep. Working on getting 5 to 7 hours now.

Kids' rate at Fogo de Chao
Liz The New Me replied to abefroman329's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would call and speak with the manager first. Places like that do not allow sharing plates or if they do ask for the price and see if it's worth it. From just a salad bar or appetizer. Look online for the menu. -

Bariatric Patches for Gastric Sleeve
Liz The New Me replied to Sally J's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OK so for me...It works. Pre-op was able to swallow all the pills. Post-op not a one. So I did the patches. The one that did the most incredible work the I noticed right a way was the night time menopausal. The night time hot flash is under control. I put them on my stomach, hips, side or my arms. I change it around. I will wear up to 4 or 5. I figure cover all the basics. LOL Hair, Multi, Calcium, sleep, Vitm. D, Anti-aging. I can't hurt. I can now take pills, so I do both. They had a special sale of 50% off and I went to town. Labs are good. -

WOW! You look Great and so Happy! Proud of you! -
You will be fine. Just listen carefully to your stomach. It will tell you when you are full. Keep water bottle with you. Soup's were the best for me at that time. Set the timer on your Baritastic App for reminders. Keep snacks on hand for the in between times when things run longer than excepted. The walking will be good for you also. Have Fun!!

6 month post-op weight loss
Liz The New Me replied to NotActive1234's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Welcome to the site. I found this is the best place to look for answers. So join the club of being an emotional eater. That's me all the way. I'm almost 6 months out and last night got into a fight with my husband. Went back to the old habit. But I was not able to eat that much before I was going to be sick. It's a learning tool that I have to work on, really hard. I'm getting down with myself because I'm in another stall and have not lost any weight. I am still very grateful I got the sleeve done. That I will never regret doing. -

2 week stall?
Liz The New Me replied to Sheribear68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 months out and hit more stalls than I can count. I have to learn to be patient with myself. I didn't put all this weight on in one month. I have to keep thinking of where I want to be in a year. Learned to change up my eating, get more calories for fuel, and exercise more. -
I'm also wondering if it's just Salmon. I'm 5 months post op and was so looking forward to the grilled Salmon but I got so sick with only having 2 oz. I'm finding that the things I loved before are not agreeing with me now.

Hello I'm new to the site
Liz The New Me replied to Mema-to4's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to the club!!! There is plenty of us over 50 in the same boat. The only common regret is that we didn't do this soon. Best of luck. Remember to not compare yourself with others only use it as a guideline. -
delayed after Psych Evaluation
Liz The New Me replied to njcardi97's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first one I went to was one that my insurance would cover. It was a money game with them. Had to go 3 times, one per month and then it would be 4 months after before could send in the report into doctor. Found another that had WLS so knew exactly what I was talking about and could relate. Was not in my insurance but so worth the $200. Plus handed in the report a week later. -
No "sugar-free" for me
Liz The New Me replied to allisonjrasmussen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found out the hard way long time ago that I can not have aspartame or soy. I always have to go the route of all natural, organic or plant base products. The Vitamin shop store or even like the grocery store Earth Fair has tons of choices. I still drink my protein shake from Garden of Life Raw Organic Meal in chocolate flavor now, Vanilla is to sweet tasting now after WLS. Hope this helps. -
gastic vertical 150 days 55 down Happy Birthday to me!
Liz The New Me posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
WOW! So tomorrow is my Birthday. I don't think I have ever really been this excited for it. So much so that I'm having a Valentine's Couple's Date night at my house. Found some awesome outfits that I don't know which to wear. One that has been in my closet for about 20 years yes I said 20. That's how much I love it and could never get rid of it or ever fit me till now. What a journey the last 5 months have been. If it was not for an old friend that I lost touch with had not posted a picture of herself I would have never had known about this WLS. I have been going to many doctor's for years with no outcome. I fired the last one when I mentioned this and told me it will not work. But had no problem keeping me on the road to becoming a diabetic. It is hard work not for the weak at heart. Always keep think of where you want to be at the finish line. I have bad days and fall off the wagon but start again the next day to be better. You start to notice the little things you did when you where younger that you have not done in years. I'm starting to like to exercise..(a little) maybe because it does not hurt as much or not as embarrassed to be seen to be that fat. I'm still working a been more committed to it. Because the weight lost is slowing down the closer I get to my goal. I started as a size 20, now I'm looking at 12-14. There so much to choose from now in only 5 months. Happy Valentine's Day to all!! Big Hug and Kisses! Happy Birthday to myself the best gift I have ever giving to me. -
When I noticed that I had my legs crossed.....I shouted it out in the meeting I was in. I was in shock and Happy all at the same time.
