  1. Hi! Glad to hear its going ok! Im doing pretty good...i've found as long as i have "stuff" i can handle it. meaning, i have lots of sugar free jello - and lite cool whip (they said no milk products but this is non dairy, so..... ) and s/f popsicles, tropical flavor are pretty good. I'm still going out and buying some things when i cant think of what to eat. Such as a bacon/egg burrito, no cheese. I get to work, toss out the tortilla and eat the inside. The weekend was a challenge, only one more to get through (urgh - a long day holiday one at that! lol). I just bought some comfy pants for the week at home (short length but comfy) and well, i just hope the next week goes by quickly!

    One week to go...

Well, i have a week to go. This weekend i'll stock up on more s/f Jello and popsicles. Probably get in some creamy Soups for the 2nd stage..i do have alot of broth already. I do have a nice recliner in my living room...i used to fall asleep in it all the time when my little one was a baby...i may move it this weekend tho to the side closest the tv... I have some nice very light weight sweats that i thought i'd take to wear home. I think someone had mentioned a sports bar was more comfy to wear - maybe i should get one of those this weekend. I did by some liqud tylenol and those gas strips people keep saying we should have. hair appt - friday. I'm working Monday - my all liquid day...then surgery Tuesday and back to work the following wednesday. I sure hope i'm not pushing it to soon - but i do have a desk job so i can sit alot. No one at works kknows about this except one girlfriend. Granted, i might mention it after, i just didnt want to be "discussed" - ya know? Oh! One question--what kind of Calcium Vitamins did you get? I could only find these vivacin (sp?) chewable ones--but i'm not sure i'll be able to get them down..they're like a caramel...(i wsnt thinking). Any recommendations???
  5. So how is your preop going???

    July Bios?

Omg Mary! We're so similar! I did a vit injection diet years ago (Lindora) and lost alot, only to gain back plus. I also had gallbladder surgery following a Nutri System diet years ago.... Oh, and i have 2 daughters 7 and 13 through the miracle of adoption as well! My goal right now is set at 170, which at 5'7" will be good on me - while lower would be good, i am not ever imagining i could go lower than that! My band is 7/7 - we'll all do this together - good luck to you!

    Doubts? Nerves

At a week out, yes, i have had some moments of doubt....and i was very very sure i wanted to do this. I still am....but it does scare me a little. Then, i read on this site all those people that post this is the best thing they've ever done..how happy they are with this etc...and i realize that i could be saying that verysoon too. For myself, i was contiuing to gain and gain and gain. My blood sugar was becoming uncontrollable..and bottom line, i have two daughters (7 and 13) that i need to be here for -- a healthier me. I wish so badly i could have done this on my own with no intervention. I have lost so much before on diets, only to gain again. This will be the one that ends that yo yo cycling that puts so much stress on our hearts. So, i do understand your hesitation...very much so. So from one chicken to the other...we'll all do this together! Look forward to sharing/exchanging success stories very soon!

1/2 way thru first day of Pre-op

Thats great Cee Cee . Can you believe we're done with day 6? 8 more to go! Right now i'm down 11 lbs..but better still my blood sugar levels are coming down finally. Keep up the good work!
  15. You know, the first day and 1/2 were really hard..and i knew coming up on the weekend would be hard too....just tried to stay busy, but went to a movie...missed the popcorn..and every flippn commercial seemed to be about pizza, lol.

Im on day 6 tho..and my blood sugar level is good and since Monday i'm down 11 lbs. So i guess thats good.

The only thing i keep thinking, is im glad i didnt have to go through caffiene withdrawls and the surgery at the same time..this definatly is preparing me for post-op.

Hopefully the 7th will get here quickly!

    Liquid Vitamins

they told us since chewables are for kids (Flintstones)..that adults should take 2. Also, a chewable calcium tablet. Any recommendations out there for that?
  17. Oh..your traveling quite a ways huh? I live in covina and going to Arcadia..not to far.

My pre op diet started Tues..and honestly it wasnt easy for me. 1) i love coffee in the morning...and at lunch i like diet cokes. Well, no caffiene, no carbinationed beverages equals headache. I woke up with it the next day, but did start feeling better by noon. I added an atkins low carb protein shake in the morning..that seems to have helped...its the end of day 4, but the weekend will be tough for me. diets range so much! and some do 1 week, some do 10 days...some have veggies and fruit my luck i have the more stringent pre op with 14 days. lol.

I am a single mom of 2 - so i hear you on the busy life! Plus full time job and running everywhere!

Anyway, looking forward to sharing your progress...and mine too....im so excited.i wish mine was next week!

  18. Hello! Are you actually in so calif? I am - i'm having my lapband surgery on 7/7 at Arcadia Methodist. I'm in the san gabriel valley. I'm on my pre op diet (not alot of fun) and so looking forward to surgery (as wierd as that sounds to say).

  19. Good morning! Well, my liquid diet is pretty strict. 70-80 grams of protein and the usual liquids-water, crystal lite, s/f popsicles, s/f jello. No caffiene no carbonated drinks, no fruits/veggies. Purely just about no carbs. Its so different from others here! Some get veggies or fruit. But, I began it Tues...and i'm down 8 lbs. but whats even better if my blood sugar level (im diabetic) is soooo good!. So i'm eating chicken, or beef and having a protein shake for breakfast. I guess the first few days are the hardest..this will definatlely make the clear liquids after surgery easier. This is day 4. 10 more days...

  20. Hello! Hmm i plan to take a crystal lite..but i really will have a problem not munching..somehow i dont think ice will due....i may have to settle for almonds maybe...?

  21. Cee Cee? Sorry, want to be sure I had your name right - i have to be there at 10:00 am on 7/7...and surgery is scheduled for 12. I think my dr has 2 more before me. (im assuming 8/10). Of course "subject to change"..if there are delays and such...
