    Surgery date 7/14

Everyones pre op is different. My pre op appt wasnt until a week before surgery, but i got instructions via mail to start the pre op diet 2 weeks out. Mine consisted of 70-80 grams of protein (protein shake or food) no veggies no fruit - just s/f jello, crystal lite, no milk products.

    Saw my surgeon-good and bad

I never get the weight chart stuff...for 5'7" ive been told to weight between 130-150...You kidding me? Me at 130! Ha! Honestly i'm hoping for 170 - 150 would be sweeet! I think really it depends on you, how you feel, how you look etc... Healthy is key! Good luck!
  5. thats great - good luck to you! Have you started a pre op yet? I dreaded it, but boy, now, i realize it was a good thing in prep for the post op stuff! Let me know how it goes for you! :)

    July 1st Surgery Stories

I think its probably a feeling we all have--the "why couldnt i have lost the weight on my own"...but..it is what it is and we've at least chosen to do this, be healthier and in the long run, be happier. I was thinking..maybe there should be a thread of weekly weigh ins to see everyone's progress? Just a "week one ___" ??? It would be nice to know that your not alone on weeks you dont move...and nice to cheer on weeks you do lose... Just a thought. In the meantime - take care!!!
  7. thank you! I'm pretty anxious now....so you are 100% happy with your decision to do that? I'm sure of my decision, its just nice to hear people are happy!

  8. ..............

  9. I hear ya Sean! This is a decision that i know is the right one for me too. I can so hardly wait to have this done/over with and start living/losing and all that goes with it! Hope your recovery is going well!

  17. Well, i signed all my papers at my doctors office too.boy they really try to scare you with all that "if" stuff huh? Then, over to the hospital for pre admission stuff. So i'm done. I have to show up at 10am for my noon surgery. I wish it was earlier! But, this works ok, cuz my dad and daughter are taking me and earlier would mean killer traffic.

Yeah , its almost here..omg i am excited! I can hardly wait to see major results!!!

Weight lost just on preop diet

I am just finishing day 9 of my pre op diet and im down 15 lbs. However, im on all Proteins nothing else (except liquids like Water, crystal lite) and at some point i would think a full diet with all food groups would be the norm... Honestly, i think the best part is this does indeed prepare you for the post op diet...and instead of dealing with recovery plus the sudden elimination of all those foods we were used to to to to liquids would be tough...however, now we've dealt with the elimination of foods..and surgery/ recovery is our focus..and we continue with a limited diet at that point... Not sure if im saying what i mean to say lol..hopefully you understand... I would not have wanted to deal with recovery and caffiene withdrawls - now im not missing my coffee and diet cokes....so im going into this better!

  20. Hi there! Well we're done with day 9.....do ya believe it?

  21. Hi there! Just wondering how its going for you? I'm at the end of day 9 of my pre op diet - surgery 7/7. I'm so nervous/excited - almost here! I hope all goes really great for you!

  22. A video camera huh? Well, your brave...and younger :) I go for my pre op appt tomorrow...we'll see if there is anything else to do that i didnt know about! Have you had yours?

  23. ........................

  24. Part 2 - didnt know there was a limit! lol.

I have a scale, but i'd like to buy a new one - tho this is a health-o-meter - it was a solid one. I'm down about 12 lbs. so i'm happy. And i've gotten past missing my diet cokes.

Well, keep up the good work...we're half way there! How exciting this will be huh? I cant even imagine being skinny, or not having tolook at the 1x, 2x or 3x sizes ever again!
