    October 2018 Sleevers

Mine too! Mine was already thin because of birth control, now it's going to be twice as bad. I'm in lots of different groups/forums and it seems to be most common at the 3 - 6 month mark. Unfortunately, it also seems that there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. It just happens and can happen with any type of surgery. The good news is that most people said it does grow back in, and things like vitamins, protein, and biotin might help the regrowth, but of course that takes time. If mine gets any thinner, I'm going to have to go wig shopping! Lol

It takes me a really long time to get out of 14/16 or 1X. I wore it at 240, but also remember wearing it at 180. I can squeeze into some 0X dresses and tops at Torrid, but my hips are always larger which makes it hard to get into smaller sizes. Funny story.... I saw some cute size 14 pants on sale for $7 at a "regular" store so I grabbed them as goal pants a few months ago. Now that I am actually back in a 14, I took them out and they are clearly juniors or little girls... Lol!!! Not even close, they wouldnt go on one leg. How funny! You really are my twin. I hope these stalls aren't going to be frequent--so frustrating! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

Wow, congrats! Thats amazing. I was sleeved 10/16, cash patient as well. I have lost 37 lbs since Oct 1, including preop, which I am pleased with....especially considering the 3 week stall in between. I am so thankful for my tool and cant wait to see how the next several months progress. Keep up the great work! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

I was sleeved on 10/16 and stalled for 3.5 weeks at 2.5 weeks out. I am now 6 weeks and just dropped 4 lbs...whew.. I will say I see a major difference in clothes fitting despite the stall. Almost none of my old clothes fit anymore. Take lots of photos and measurements to use because the scale does not always tell the truth. [emoji12] Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

Awesome - another surgery buddy! It was tough at first, but I'm doing a little better now at 5 days post-op. I'm struggling to get my water in and have only had 1 protein shake in 5 days, no other food, just some broth. (not good! I know.) I feel like I'm sipping constantly but still barely taking in 24 oz. I also drink at night since I haven't been sleeping well, which helps me get to 36 oz in 24 hours. 64oz feels impossible right now. As far as the pain goes, I definitely feel a little better every day. As of today, I only have some soreness at the incision site where my stomach was removed, my other incisions feel fine. I originally planned to go back to work on Tuesday, but may need another day or two off. Not really for pain, but because I have no energy until I manage to get some calories in. How are you doing?

@xiola511 Thanks for looking out for me! It's actually the new Gatorade ZERO product, so there is no sugar and only 5 calories per 20 oz bottle. You are correct in that regular gatorade and even G2 are terrible products if trying to lose weight. I'm generally happy with water, but I think the Gatorade Zero will be beneficial for providing sodium and potassium/electrolytes...and variety!

I wouldn't say I'm second guessing my decision, but I understand that feeling. I went from being 110% ready, zero hesitation, to... WOW, is this really happening? Am I sure about this? It's extreme. It's permanent. It has risks. Several friends and family members have said I'm "fine the way I am" and not to do it. But.... I'm staying positive and focusing on the good that will come from this experience, rather than the tough parts and potential complications. Just try to think about where you will be a year from now and hold on to that thought! =) An overwhelming majority of WLS patients say it's the best decision they have ever made, not necessarily the easiest though. Best of luck!

Hair loss scares me also, mine is already fine & thin I can't afford to lose even more! I started taking biotin chewables last month and bought some thickening shampoo. I have read that there's really nothing you can do about it and it's just part of the process, but I'm still going to try!! Dehydration is scary and seems to be pretty common. I noticed that "IV drips" are a new trend in the fitness community, there are spa type places where an RN will give you an IV full of fluids and various vitamins depending on your needs. It seems like a dream come true for bariatric patients, I'm going to ask my doctor what he thinks. If I feel like I'm slacking in the hydration department I may check into the IV drip! The vitamins are a bonus. It seems expensive, but it's still less than my ER co-pay! #planB... Lol

I worry about that also, I always drink a lot during and after meals. That will definitely take some getting used to. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
