So my divorce is going to be final next week. Ugh! Was married for six years and had my lap band surgery in July of 2008. I started at 256 and as of today I weigh 128. The thing that I don't understand is the fact that my husband cheated on me with a girl who is over 5'10 and weighs just about what I did before surgery. So for me it makes me question myself and wonder if he still sees me as a miserable heavy person or if hes just intimidated by the fact that I have lost so much and he is now heavy. So here I am being a single mom again with a 14 yr old boy a 6 yr old boy and a 5 yr old girl. Moved into a 2 bedroom apartment which the kids have the rooms and I sleep on the couch. Also I haven't worked in 5 years because i've stayed home with the kids so i'm trying to make it work just on child support and alimony. So friggin stressed out right now its ridiculous!!!!!:confused:

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it. I finally just spoke to my doc after waiting all day and he said the same thing as long as I can tolerate liquids, wait until Monday to see if the swelling has gone down. I was at 8cc before I had this fill, and have never really had a problem before like this one. Hopefully it will resolve on its own without having anything taken out.

I got a fill last Thursday so I am now at 8.5 in a 10cc band. The first day it felt a little tight and I called the office and they said to stay on liquids for 24 hrs. The next day I went in because I was having problems with Soup, and they wanted me to try solid foods and see how I tolerated that first. So I went home and ate a little and that went ok no problems. Last night I had some chili and shredded cheese and began throwing up, about 5 times. I tried eating just a popsicle after that and then threw that up. I woke up last night 2 times because I was choking on reflux. Has anyone had this experience? Could it just be that i'm really irritated and I need to just stay on liquids? I don't want to call the dr because he will take out a lot of my fill. I need advice.... Jen

Last night I bend down to move my son in bed when he was asleep and when I picked him up something popped near my port and it was very painful, has anyone experienced the same problem???

stuck at a plateau...VERY fraustrated!!
srfrmom replied to kristyn1975's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same issues with the whole plateau thing when I first started working out. I found out that I wasn't eating enough calories and I also didn't take into consideration that I was gaining muscle but also losing fat as well. Keep up the good work and the weight will start to come off again, it just takes some patience sometimes. -
When did you go home after surgery?
srfrmom replied to JWL08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went home the next evening and i'm glad that I stayed overnight because I felt really drained and ended up having a problem with my blood sugar that evening....Nothing to horribly bad, but it was just good that I was there.... -
I need motivation re:exercise please
srfrmom replied to thinkingslim70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm right there with you on the exercise thing, not a big fan of that. My husband got me a gym membership for christmas (which I asked for) so i'm just beginning that. Really intimidating at first, but I just have to keep telling myself that i'm there for myself and no one else. Only you can help yourself. I understand the standstill also, I was up to walking almost 3 miles a day and then I broke my foot and was in a cast for 2 months. -
So I had a fill about a two weeks ago and it was going fine I was able to eat and drink things without any PBing and then the last few nights I've been waking up with really bad reflux. Not sure if i'm just eating too much or what? Has anyone had this problem. I'm now up to about 9 cc in a 10 cc band.

How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
srfrmom replied to lotzasunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yesterday was my 6 month mark and I have lost 73 lbs to date, woo hoo.... I am really amazed at myself and proud that I have been able to do this. I also had my appt yesterday and had another fill which I am now at 8.5 cc in a 10cc band. I am thinking this is it for fills for me.:yikes: -
I don't know whether anyone else experiences this or not, but since I had surgery in July it seems as though I am always so cold. I turn the heater up and bundle up while I look around and everyone else is sweating. Anyone else feel this way???

Has anyone been so constipated that they had to go to the ER for help??? Just curious if its just me, spent the whole evening trying to go and then finally gave in this morning around 4:45 and went in. Other than horrible hemmorhoids now and no sleep from last night, the stomach pain is about gone. Just wanted to see if anyone has felt this way....

So as of now I am doing really well, yesterday was kind of rough being turkey day and all. Nothing really agreed with me then but I guess that was good. And the thought of pie was ugh.... None of that even remotely sounds tempting to me. I hope you all were able to resist temptation. Keep up the good work. -
I just had my 3rd fill last week and since then I get hiccups non stop and they last for 30 to 45 mins before they stop. It gets tiring at times, :smile2:, but now at least I feel as though I have some sort of restriction and it is a sign that I'm getting too much air or eating way too fast.
