BMI Goal: is your BMI goal to be healthy or overweight?
Healthy_life replied to jultrim18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Be healthy, whatever that weight looks like for each of us. Finding a weight to maintain is personal. I was thrilled to get to an overweight BMI. I just happened to keep losing and I ended up at a normal BMI. BMI is flawed. You have an amazing fitness level and look damn fine! My bone structure/body type is an inverted triangle. My shoulders are wider than my hips. I look busty, but I'm not. I've learned to be comfortable in my own skin . I should say" loose skin." -

How much oil to track for restaurant meal?
Healthy_life replied to notmyname's topic in Food and Nutrition
Sounds about right. Most chain restaurant menu items are listed in your food app. (depending on which app you use) -
NSV (nothing major)

It's a great NSV. Celebrate! BTW your face beautiful. -
I took it years ago. It was the equivalent to speed. Once the prescription ends, your appetite comes back. It was not a long term solution for weight loss.

Whew. Thanks for giving me a better idea of what your eating. I understand meal replacement on the run. Many sites sell products marked to bariatric patients. Shop around and compare prices before you buy. An eleven pound weight bounce is manageable. I maintain a ten pound weight bounce. When the scale moves up. I go back into weight loss mode to get it back down to 130's Your not alone. Most sleeve feel less restriction year+ out. Its normal. Know that your stomach has not stretched back to its original size.** (revisions are rare. If you think it's stretched and you need a revision contact your surgeon to get it diagnosed)** Now that you can consume more food, Its finding ways to fill the extra space without going over your calories/macros to maintain/lose weight . It's also finding foods that keep you feeling less hungry. Honestly, real food is how I manage the extra sleeve capacity/hunger. I hope you find what works for you. As you can tell, I'm not a fan of proceed replacement products. To each their own. Products that break down rapidly or liquids don't keep me full. (example protein shakes, soups, chips) Items that have more bulk help with hunger. I keep quest bars in my car for quick food on the run. (cost effective and easy to find locally)

You are maintaining right? Can I ask how much of a gain you are wanting to take off? I hope I am wrong in understanding what your meals look like. I'm a bit confused and concerned. Is this your food instructions by your surgical team? This is only an estimate below. I have no Idea of what an actual day of food looks like for you. I looked up Herbalife shakes 15 grams protein 120 calories 2 Eggo waffles 5 grams protein and 190 calories 27 grams carbohydrates. This is only 620 calories per day and 40 grams of protein.

That's great, intermittent fasting is your preference . I'm glad the original poster has many options to try to see what works for them. -
You are over a year out ....Drinking shakes is one of the reasons you are experiencing hunger.
-
Your not alone in having a weight gain after a year or more. I'm a sleeve four and a half years out. I've had to work off a regain. This is just a set back. You can get back on track. You can get your body back in weight loss mode without being dependant on pills. My two cents on pills: Pills are not long term sustainable for weight loss. Majority of them don't work. Phentermine has side effects and most people gain weight once the prescription is over. Weight loss and maintaining is work. There are no shortcuts. some things to try: Log your food and stick to your weight loss calories and macros for the day You are over a year out. Get rid of the shakes. Real whole foods will keep you feeling more satiated. Sleeves can consume more food years out. Eat more veggies with your Protein to fill the extra space and keep your calories down. It will help with hunger Spread meals out 5 to 6 meals a day Get temptation food out of the house Keep healthy options for sweet and salty cravings in the house find counselor or therapist Join a weight loss challenge. Congrats on five years out and all your weight loss. Weight loss takes work. There are no shortcuts. I'm glad you are taking control of this now. It's easier to take off a 15 pound gain than a 30, 40, 80 or more. I'm a sleeve four and a half years out. As you jump rope, dream of wearing shorts, tank tops and summer dresses. You already rock fashion. I'm waiting for your spring/summer style photos.

When your sleeve is new eating may feel like a chore. (did you ever think you would say I don't want to eat?) It's pretty normal to struggle to get your protein and hydration gaol at first. Keep trying to hit it to stay healthy. Your sleeve surgery restriction is still tight. First months will be your best weight loss. The restriction will become less over time. Be prepared for less sleeve restriction. It's strange when you experience this for yourself. Know that it's also normal.

Fantastic timing for keeping warm in the winter. Had a great day at the Mccall winter festival. Forgive me for all the photos👼

Congrats on your Jan 19th surgery. We are all adults. Food choices and behavior change are yours. The only one that has to be happy with your weight loss results is you. -
Yep, I experienced this. Weight loss may slow the closer you get to goal. Your body has less fat to burn. Give your body time to adjust to your exercise plan. Weight loss is diet exercise is fitness. Great that your lifting. Sometimes we lose muscle with rapid weight loss. Don't get discouraged, You are doing fantastic.

Advanced skin corrector creams! What are you using to help out your skin?
Healthy_life replied to LaNueva_Janie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
85 down! you are doing fantastic. Wow you look younger than 43. I think most of us think about what our skin will be like after weight loss. Doesn't hurt to try to try things to reduce it a lil. Do they work? IDK. My loose skin is livable. It was not as bad as I made it out to be in my head. 😉
