Plateau since month 6
Healthy_life replied to fightinengineer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good that you have insite after looking at your own macros. Dialing in your diet gets frustrating, right? After you change up your diet. Let us know if things change If there is no change - 1221+ seems to be your maintaining calories. An option to try. Dial your daily calories to 1100 for two months consistently to see if this puts your body in weight loss mode. Ugh ! I hope you see the scale moving soon:-) -
Weight Loss Pills and surgery
Healthy_life replied to johnsons13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
An example of one surgeons meal plan 6 months out 1000 to 1300 weight loss mode https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/MediaLibraries/URMCMedia/hh/services-centers/bariatrics/documents/Bariatric_Meal_Plan_3M-6M.pdf maintaining 1300 to 1500 https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/MediaLibraries/URMCMedia/hh/services-centers/bariatrics/documents/Bari_Lifestyle_Meal_Plan.pdf SIDE NOTE: I was allowed to add carbs (whole wheat, sweet potato, brown rice) when I got close to my maintaining weight. This was to slow/stop weight loss. Again, all plans look different. -

Weight Loss Pills and surgery
Healthy_life replied to johnsons13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm sure you are beyond distraught and frustrated. I'm sure my posts have not been helpful. But I'm worried about you. 500 to 700 calories lifelong is setting you up to fail. (only my opinion) You are the first patient that I have ever seen that has this calories zone with the sleeve. @bratcad had the same surgeon. Do you both have the same instructions of 500 to 700 life long? Is there a medical reason that he has you on that low of calories? When your body is starving it's easy to swing into old behaviors I am going to do a blanket post to see if anyone has the same surgeon and instructions. I think they will be a better help to you . -

Jealous of everyone's cooking abilities. When I get back to real food, I have to up my game. Four 1/2 years out. Day three of liquid/pureed foods due to a minor surgery (non stomach related) Wow I'm surprised that my restriction is back. I'm not cranky or ravenously hungry. Roasted garlic mashed cauliflower - Isopure zero carb protein lemonade. -

Plateau since month 6
Healthy_life replied to fightinengineer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm at a loss if you have tried both calorie ranges and hit your macros consistently with no different results. I understand the frustration. What has been you average calories for Jan 26th to feb 1st ? Your gaining and losing the same 4 pounds for 6 months, sounds like you are consistently eating your maintaining calories. Goto you average calories tab. Can you post it like your chart above ? Your chart says you average more fats than protein are you doing keto? Either do keto or low carb consistently. -

1100 calories in a day!!!
Healthy_life replied to NorthCountryGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You are right, your calories should be lower at 3.5 weeks out. Cut the peanut butter and crackers out of your diet will bring your calories down. Crackers may be causing the hunger.. Once you add carbs you crave them more. Peanut butter is a slider food for me. Its high in calories and has no bulk. Easy to eat way too much of it, never feel full and start gaining weight. Do you use a food log app? I use myfitnesspal. I felt better after I got to real food stage. hang in there. -
1100 calories in a day!!!
Healthy_life replied to NorthCountryGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What does a day of food look like for you? If you are on real food stage, have you stopped drinking shakes/meal bars? Are you eating real whole foods to hit your protein goals? Have carbs/sugar snuck back into your diet? Once you eat them you crave them more. -
1100 calories in a day!!!
Healthy_life replied to NorthCountryGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
500-900 is not lifelong calories...They will increase as you progress. How far out from surgery? Were the extra calories due to bad food choices? I'm a sleeve . My calories increased to 900 to 1100 of healthy foods. Sleeves have less surgery restriction as you progress. This is why it's important to log and keep within your weight loss calories and macros for the day. -
April sleever with concerns
Healthy_life replied to chubbs79's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your surgery date. Many people here that will support you through all this. My six month supervised was painfully slow. I was hungry and cranky. Hang in there. Pre surgery I don't think I had the sensation of full. I now feel satisfied on smaller meals. I was not interested in eating in my first month. After I healed from surgery, I have real and head hunger. It's more manageable after the sleeve. Its normal to question your decision. Know that this will be different than your past dieting attempts. Surgery is not the easy way out. It will still take work. I struggled to lose weight and keep it off. It's the reason I had surgery. I'm four years out and maintaining. -
Weight Loss Pills and surgery
Healthy_life replied to johnsons13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm not a fan of weight loss pills. OTC never worked on any of my previous weight loss attempts. Prescriptions are a bandaid. Once your prescription is over, You will be right back dealing with hunger and weight loss again. Also depends on what you are struggling with. Counseling may help If old habits are coming back. Finding ways to deal with hunger Dealing with less sleeve surgery restriction staying consistent. -
Before and after pics?? Curious what to expect for loose skin
Healthy_life replied to chubbs79's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your skin will be an unknown factor of your weight loss. You can google loose skin after bariatrics to see many examples. It's good to prepare yourself for best and worst case scenarios. Weight lifting helps. The only way to get rid of it is plastic surgery. -
