    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I officially started my puree stage today (I'm 2 weeks post op) so I get to kind of enjoy Thanksgiving a bit, and I'm grateful for that. I hope everyone, no matter what stage/phase/status you are, enjoy your family, friends, pets, whatever!
  2. Hey folks, I figured I'd ask 2 burning questions I've had. I'm 8 days post op VSG. 1. Has anyone else had to do a TWO week CLEAR liquid diet post op? My surgeon doesn't even allow protein shakes, just clear liquids and I feel like I'm just not getting enough calories. I am getting 40g of protein with a protein water by isopure but clear liquids for 14 days is driving me nuts. 2. How much liquids can you drink? I honestly feel ZERO restriction when I drink liquids, and can easily get 8 to 10 ounces in comfortably in a few minutes. Is that normal and/or am I drinking too fast? I make sure to take small sips, I don't get gassy or "stuck" the way people describe. But I feel like I can ingest way more liquid than I'm supposed to. Thanks for any feedback

1 week post op liquids questions

Wow this reply totally relieved some anxiety! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, I was worried I was already stretching my stomach out. I still have 6 more days of clear liquids before I can eat anything. My surgeon is so mean!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

Hey folks, I got sleeved this Thursday 11/8 so today is 3 days post-op. My pain was manageable in the hospital (took pain meds twice), was able to get my fluids in and was released after one day (Friday). I've been home for 2 days and am getting my liquids in pretty consistently, still feel mild discomfort, but it seems to literally get better hour by hour. I do get random nausea, and the hiccups which I've gotten a few times are the bane of my f*cking existence right now, still haven't figured out what causes them but I suspect it has something to do with getting up from laying down too quickly. I am tired though, and all I wanna do is sleep. I've been forcing myself to get up[ and walk around, today I plan to actually go out and walk instead of doing laps instead. I'll keep you all posted if anything changes but things seem to be going according to plan. I have my follow-up with the surgeon this Tuesday.

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I'm scheduled for this Thursday 11/8 as well. Starting to feel the nerves/anxiety but it'll go away the day of surgery for me. Good luck to everyone who already got sleeved or are getting ready this week!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I may have chimed in earlier in this thread but I am scheduled and was recently approved for Nov 8th. Just have to do my pre-op stuff next week (bloodwork, ekg, etc) then I'm off to Cali for "last hurrah" before getting ready for surgery a little over a week later. I'm fortunate in that my surgeon does not require a liquid diet pre-op.
