Passed the Chic-fil-A test...it was tough
tmrtyty2018 replied to tmrtyty2018's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh I paid for it later. LOL. But I can’t sit still. I’m trying really hard not to get into super clean mode at home and just take it easy. Especially with staples still in. Will be so glad to get those out tomorrow. -
No, I just called my doctors office for one. I’m hoping that’s what it is. It doesn’t matter the temp of the food or time of day. It happens if u sip water in the middle of the It’s causing me not to want to drink anything so I know I’m nearing dehydration. My mouth is so dry.

Is it possible to build muscle after the sleeve? I'm about to find out.

Do you mind sharing those videos? Ever since having 2 babies back to back I’ve felt like my hips are out of whack. Would love to try something that relieves me of that feeling. Thanks so much! -

Hey you look great! I’m following this thread! -
Hi. I had my gastric sleeve 4 days ago and have been walking and am anxious to get into the gym. My surgeon told me when I left the hospital no sit ups for 1 year. That blew my mind and I’m working how to get my jiggly belly under control with no sit ups. Any suggestions? Thanks!

LOL. I think it may just be my surgeon. He seems to be overly cautious. I’ll go about it at a slow pace. He said my surgery was routine and had no issues so I see no reason why I can’t exercise like everyone else. Thanks!

Are you having weird squeezing/tightness with drinking? It’s hard to explain but I keep getting these weird squeezing sensations and bubbly feeling immediately after sipping pretty much anything except a protein shake. I just dipped in some homemade pea soup and I felt like I had a rubber tube trying to escape out of my chest. Been having it since my surgery off and on. Just wondering when/if it will go away.
-
Nope no reason. Just part of my discharge instructions when I asked about exercise. Got it. Thanks!
-
Hey I had laparoscopic surgery. I thought I would be cleared for all exercise after 4 weeks. It’s weird.
-
I’ve heard between 2-4. I opted for 4. Glad I did. Getting my energy level up with the amount of liquid protein we’re supposed to live on is difficult.

If I overdo it. Took the kids to playground and then grocery store then fed them dinner and now I’m pooped.

Perfect. Good to know. I was wondering if 4 pieces was too much. -

Thanks for responding. My husband is very supportive and it happened to be a situation that I’m sure I’m going to be in a lot whether it’s home or work. I’m glad I was able to overcome. This was not a negative situation and my family shouldn’t have to suffer because of my personal demons a.k.a food. If they occasionally want to indulge in chic-fil-a, which is the worst we do in fast food, then I have to be okay with that. If I was not okay I would’ve said no when my hubby asked and he would’ve eaten later without me or dropped me off. Either would’ve been inconvenient options so it is what it is. As for packing healthy snacks it wasn’t that kind of party nor was that on my mind when getting 3 and 2 year old girls dressed and hair done to leave the house. My husband is my biggest fan when it comes to weight loss and this journey and I’m sorry if others don’t have a supportive spouse. That is simply not my case. -
Barely, but it counts!

Woohoo! Great job lady! Any loss counts. -
Good for you! Glad things went well! Enjoy your protein!

You can do it! I was dreaming about food I was so hungry. Dreaming that I ate when I wasn’t supposed to. It was so real. But I made it through those last hours like a champ and so will you! Wishing you the best!

Thank you! I’m so glad I found the support here I don’t know how I’d be passing the time otherwise. I’m excited to try all the recipes on this website as I continue on my healthy journey. I just need to get pas the first freakin 7 days. LOL I’m sipping my chicken bone broth now trying to get some nutrition. I know I have not been getting enough. Contributing to my low energy.

Thank you! I’ve been struggling 5 days post op with being hungry and watching my family eat stuff that I love (like homemade bread and butter) and I’m sipping a clear protein drink. I’m also used to doing a lot more but my energy level is low and the pain is high. I stopped the Tylenol codeine a few days ago. Didn’t like how it made me feel. I’m just trying to take it one day at a time but I keep asking myself if I made the right decision or if I’m a failure because I wasn’t able to just buckle down like one of those people I see in the news and lose the weight without surgery. I’m hoping it gets better. It’s not all negative. I’ve lost quite a bit just in 5 days but I have a lot more to go.
-
Okay makes sense. I wouldn’t want to do anything close to a plank right now anyway. LOL
-
That’s great advice. Thanks so much. I will try that!

I like the Isopure drinks. Easy on my tummy. And sugar free popsicles. I’ve been living on those. Can’t wait to graduate to pureed foods. This is difficult.
-
Oh I haven’t tried protein shakes yet. I’m doing Isopure protein drink. Doctor said I can only have clear liquids. Will try protein shakes next week. Trying to find high protein shakes. I woke up several times with that weird feeling in my stomach/chest last night and had to take a few sips of the protein drink. Seemed to help. I hope you have a speedy recovery as well.

Hi! I had my surgery on the same day you did at the same time. I arrived home yesterday around 8 PM. Feels great to be home. Experiencing gnawing hunger pains. Trying to sip protein as water seems to make it worse. Are you experiencing the same?
