  1. Losing close to 200 lbs will be an important accomplishment for you..Its a lot of weight..I’m inclined to recommend the Gastric Bypass. It is a very, very, strict tool in keeping you to your diet. And you must take your vitamins daily. Which is a good thing!! Be really honest with yourself now...If you feel you need this discipline due to emotional overeating or overeating carbs, combined with an addiction to junk food/ sugar, or eating a lot in general, that’s the one.. your body will immediately let you know when you have blown it with the wrong kind of food., Dumping syndrome etc..Negative reinforcement.🤨.especially if your diabetic, high BP, in severe pain, or have other obesity related health issues, This is my opinion....The reason I say this is, because I believe the Gastric Bypass is MORE punishing than the Gastric Sleeve.. With the Gastric Sleeve, you can still eat pretty much the same, just smaller portions, chewed diligently, and of course, should be healthier, and take the vitamins daily. If you do cheat, you might not feel great for a short time, but everything is working like before, just a streamlined stomach.. Lifestyle change takes a lot of self awareness with sleeve.. With Gastric bypass, you really must do it, you don’t have a choice. They are both great tools, but if you feel like you need more of a highly disciplined approach with very quick results, and are addicted to food, Bypass. If you feel like you can lose 200 lbs using your own motivation, using the Sleeve to keep you in check, and are good at following directions and implementing change, then the Sleeve.. I know you will make the best decision in the days leading up.. you know yourself best. Be honest and congrats on your decision, Good Luck!🌺

    40 something sleevers?

Hey, Great decision to get your sleeve. I’m not in my 40’s.. I’m in my 60’s! ..60 is the new 40 as far as I’m concerned 😄 your going to feel great! Had the band 9 years ago, didn’t work out long term, so I just converted to sleeve 30 days ago., Doing great.. back to work next week. Good not to wait.. congrats
  3. Hi, I truly believe you can be an inspiration to many, by briefly telling your story to people/family who ask.! I have found that many individuals talk about changing things, whatever it is, in their lives, but are not empowered enough to follow through. We have taken action. From the initial research, pre op, surgery, and recovery, we accomplished it!! I would recommend not trying to hide it, that’s the old you..Be proud. Talk about it whenever the opportunity comes up!!😁.. You might inspire others to take action with whatever they need to do in their lives. If you feel like you want to tip your toe in the water to get a feel, so to speak, why not attend a current bariatric class and tell your story of success to the incoming patients. They are feeling unsure and might not know what to expect.. You can quiet their fears and give them hope for a wonderful outcome.. Be proud!! Good Luck!
  4. Hi, yes I think you might look into Unjury medical quality protein powder. You can mix it into anything. 21 grams per scoop..it’s great
  5. Hi, honestly you actually had 4 separate procedures.during the same surgery... Galbladder removal, hiatal hernia repair, scar tissue removal then... your VSG. So, I’m thinking your really swollen, inflamed... a lot to heal from dear... Sosewsue61 had some great advice about the anti- nausea meds/patch. I have one that melts on the tongue. Yes warm liquids will help..Also, go online and purchase Unjury medical grade protein powder.. no taste., you can put it in your drink/ water to get your protein. I’ve been adding powder probiotics to my drink also The refrigerated 40 billion +kind..give it couple more days.. if it has not gotten better get to the Dr. If worse go immediately. Just to be on the safe side..hang in there.. Good Luck💐

    Need something..

Hey guirrlll!!. I believe your motivation might be, the great example you are setting for your child/ kids by you taking positive steps forward!!! It’s funny how the “universe” aligns for us when we really try to make the best decisions for our life!! Your starting on your new path to a healthier more fabulous you, and, it sounds like the old, past, bad habits are not that appealing to you anymore. You are empowering yourself...Your child/kids will model their lives and problem solving capabilities after you. I would recommend focus on your family and yourself now.. It seems like you have started to take control of your life. Anything good and positive along with life changing actions will only benefit you.. and your child/kids.. the truth is,,,no partner will ever do that for you, you have to accomplish this yourself...dust yourself off, pick yourself up, and keep on track moving forward. When you do this, you will attract the best life has to offer....for you and your family..( that ‘ol universe)... I’m 16 days out from my sleeve. Doing well.. your liquid diet will be ok. Stay on it for your own health...and for an easier surgery..Your surgery date will be here before you know it!! Just think, this time next year, Wow!!💃

Had my surgery 3 weeks ago.

Hi, oh dear, your situation sounds challenging. I’m 3 weeks out also, to be exact. 16 days, and healing ok, inside and out. Very little nausea, onto soft mushy food.. Did you have a upper GI the day after surgery? The Dr. then checks for any leakage and/ or problems after surgery and if so, keeps you in the hospital for further observation/ correction. It’s pretty standard procedure..Yes, your abdomen and stomach will be swollen a bit after surgery, normal, but your situation sounds unique. In comparison, I take my chewable bariatric vitamins daily, Isopure Protein Drink and Premiere Protein Drink, 1 Greek yogurt, smushed banana or avocado when the mood strikes,..Refried beans have been ok, not spicy..sugar free jello is nice. Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. (more soup than noodle) and constant hydration.. your getting hydrated and nutrition through your IV. which is great. The calories add up quick so, I would keep at at about 1,000 in the future, once your situation stabilizes..Maybe your body is going through a shock or serious readjustment. Maybe your very sensitive to surgery.. it’s possible your liver or gall bladder is acting up.. if your dialing back any medication after surgery, that could be giving you headaches. Protein is the key. For future reference, Unjury medical quality protein powder can be added to anything to bump up the protein levels.. but, I did meet a gal last week who couldn’t have the surgery because she couldn’t tolerate any protein due to kidney or liver problems (I can’t remember which,, geez). I’m so sorry..your experiencing this. I would ask some hard questions if this doesn’t start to ease up in another week.. Hopefully it will, and this event will be a distant memory.. Hang in there...Good Luck!!
