Dragonfly it sounds like you might be a little too tight. I would see about getting a little taken out

If you are able to eat anything with no problem then u probably need a fill. I had 4 cc in my band and could eat anything and everything. My doc added 1.5 last week and it made a huge difference. ( debating on having a tiny bit taken out). Let the band help you!!

After finding a leak in my tubing and having it replaced in April 25. I went to my doc yesterday. I had 4 cc in after surgery and felt no restriction so yesterday he added 2 more and then ended up taking .5 out because I had difficulty drinking my water before I left. Although I'm on liquids I definitely feel that I'm going to have restriction. I've been dealing with no restriction since August. So I hope this is what I've been waiting for. Hopefully I can get this weight off that I gained plus some! Yesterday was my 6 year bandiversary so I hope I'm back to being successful! Lets do this!

I know what you mean! At our Mexican food restraunts here they put a metal plate in the oven and bring your food out on that hot plate. I wish I had one because my food actually stays warm!

Welcome to band land! Take it one day at a time! You can do this. Congrats on your decision! -
After several months of trying to get restriction my dr replaced my port and tubing on Friday. He found a small split in the back of my tubing. He gave me 4 cc because he didn't want me to be too restricted while I recovered. I go back in 2 weeks to check things out and add more fluid. Hopefully I will soon find the restriction that I once had!

I was happy to find out that my ins paid 100%! I was scared because they weren't the insurance that put my band in 2muchfun...I made progress during that time but in the wrong direction!! But thankfully it was a pretty easy fix

Embarrassed to go for a fill
2babutterfly replied to Gardnergirl2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totally understand how you are feeling....you probably dreaded going to your reg doc when you were sick just because they make you weigh. I have always been like that. Even with my band doc. I just keep telling myself that's what I'm going for and they are here to help me? You have done a fabulous job! Hold your head high and go focusing on what you have lost! -
I found some today..can't wait to try them for my dessert tonight!

Are they in the frozen section? They look yummy!

I am in your same boat. I had a complete infill in July and I have been trying to find restriction ever since! They have been refilling slowly but after my fifth fill last week which should have put me at 81/2 cc in a 10 cc band she said if you don't feel any with this you might have a leak. So I have waited a little over a week. I need to call her. She said the band I have (which they don't use anymore) tends to get leaks in the tubing. I hope that if I do have one that is where it is because it sounded like a pretty easy fix. Good luck and keep us posted. I'm curious about these possible leaks!

How do you stop the "brain" hunger
2babutterfly replied to aubtracken's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have been struggling with this lately after school and in the evenings..I have been trying to drink extra water, chew some gum or if I have to find a healthy snack. My favorite right now is sugar snap peas. They have a great crunch. Does this always work? No! But I keep trying -
Great article jean! Really got me thinking about what I spend the majority of my time thinking about. And sadly right now it is still food! I want health and family to push through to the top! But I have no idea to make the food thoughts go away. Just keep trying Day by day is all I can think.

The restriction I'm looking for is 2 fold. I'm looking for restriction that makes me take very small bites and eat slowly because if I don't it sticks in my esophagus. And restriction that helps me to feel full after a small amount of food. I have had it before and I'm hoping to get back there. Do those descriptions sound right?

Ok I'm going for another fill today....please let this be the one! I felt fuller faster after my last one 3 weeks ago but I'm looking for that restriction when I eat. Right now anything can be swallowed with no problem. I hope after today bread, tortillas etc will simply not be able to be swallowed. That is the only way I am able to stay away from them! I hope that I will HAVE to take tiny bites and eat slow. I'm also dreading going because I've gained 4 pds in the last 3 weeks. I was such a success with the band going from 314-170.....today my weight was 210. I've got to get me and my band in sync again! Wish me luck!

Thanks for the advice b52. I'll def take it easy. I just want restriction like you have! So hopefully I am close!
-
Well they did my fill a little differently this time. I told her I still wasn't feeling any restriction so she had me stand up and she filled me completely and had me drink water while taking fluid out and putting in until I could swallow a drink without any problem. She ended up adding 1 cc. She said we should def have some restriction now. And if it should go away then I might have a leak but she really doesn't think I do. So fingers crossed that this was it!

Thanks for the support! I try not to have them but the hubs likes them so we do have them sometimes. This will be my 5 th fill since totally unfilling my band in July so I hope this is the one!

Feeling a little bit discouraged-vent
2babutterfly replied to Wendydarling19's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wendy you are doing a great job! You have to remember that right now your body is trying to figure out what the heck is going on! I know it's hard but be patient and things will balance out . -
I know I need a fill....scheduled for Monday...hopefully this will be "the one" and will help my physical hunger. But I'm looking for ways that you deal with the head hunger. What do you do when your head wants the snacks? My toughest times are right after school(I'm a teacher) and in the evenings while watching tv. Especially when the hubs is working nights. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks so much for the encouragement!

Have you talked to your doc? Maybe he could help you with the pros and cons of each surgery and help you decide which is best for you. Best wishes!
