Hey everyone! I am so happy to see everyone's progress!! it's amazing. While I have been successful, I have had to battle through some severe stomach issues. I have been in and out of the hospital last month and this month due to stomach issues that I will know more about after my colonoscopy. This setback has taken an already strict lifestyle and added even more nuance to it. Right now we don't know if it's just severe diverticulitis, Crohn's disease or what. I had very substantial hemorrhaging of the colon, but thankfully they were able to stop it. So, right now is a wait and see and be careful type of thing. I have made further adjustments to my lifestyle to eliminate nuts, vegetables and fruit with seeds, I can't handle creams, dairy, etc. So.... it's interesting right now. As far as the sleeve is concerned, I couldn't be happier! Down 81 pounds. i do have the dreaded loose skin, but *shrugs* I will give myself more time to tighten as best as I can and then from there I may get a little help with what's left, eventually not in the near future. It hasn't even been a year and I am not finished losing yet. I hope everyone is taking time to enjoy the journey. It's a wild one! Oh, 😒 who has had people say, "You really don't need to lose any more weight." 🙄 I have had countless people tell me you are going to start looking like you're sick if you lose another pound. These are people who aren't aware that I had surgery done. I also had someone tell me that my colon issues my be due to all of this healthy eating that I am doing and I may just need to eat regular since I have already lost so much weight. 🙄 smh.

Just left the gym and wanted to check in. Tired, but pleased with my workout. In February I set a 20 pound weight loss goal for myself. The deadline was March 31st. I was trying to go from 199 to 179. I weighed in yesterday at 181. I really wanted to hit that 179, but I'll take 181 as I had about 3 weeks where the scale didn't move at all from 188. A little disappointed, but I know I am doing great. Today marks my last 20 pound goal today!! May 31st is the deadline. After May 31st I will have about two 10 pound goals or one 10 pound goal and one 5 pound goal. I am not sure yet. I am playing it by sight and how I feel. Anyone else start a new weight loss goal that we can check in with one another about?

You are doing amazing @VSGDavid!! Keep up the awesome work.

Hey Everyone!! So glad to see such great progress and happiness from everyone! Congrats to everyone on all of the awesome work. I am in a GREAT place as well. I am very satisfied with my weight loss thus far. I don't weigh daily or even weekly sometimes. I don't want to turn psycho (and if you knew me you'd know that I analyze everything). I just want to continue to allow my body to do her thing. I have graduated from walking, to speed walking, to jogging 🤯! I am working to tone the flabbies of my triceps (that'll be a long road, so I am patient). Working with this stomach (I see a waistline coming through). I've purchased a few things for my home "gym" rope, medicine ball, etc. Days that I don't make it to the gym, I workout here at home. I am down from a size 16/18 to a size 10 in pants. I am down from a 16/18 in shirts to a medium. I am down as of right now a total 67 pounds. I figure I'll lose another 30-40 or so. Really happy with where I am and how I look. On a personal side note... early on I was asked what is one simple thing that I am really looking forward to doing when I lose weight. Something that is just kind of taken for granted almost. Mine was crossing my legs without it feeling uncomfortable or even like I have to work hard to force them to stay crossed or crossing my ankles because crossing my legs was to uncomfortable. I am here to tell you all these legs stay on crossed!!! In the car my legs are what??? CROSSED! So easy, so carefree, so natural, so crossed! Lol!! It was really difficult in the beginning and I still have my moments even now with "hey I need a few more calories, hey I need to eat something, hey I haven't had enough liquid today etc.", but I would without a doubt, hesitation, or second thought make this same decision again. It is amazing.

Happy Happy Birthday to you and BIG CONGRATS on reaching onederland!! Best birthday gift ever. Enjoy your day.

Hey Irish! Congrats on your tremendous weight loss accomplishment!!! That is so awesome. Keep doing your thing. I can so relate to that one mouthful over, whether it's with drinking or eating. As of late though it's been registering as I am chewing.. "umm, you cannot swallow this bite." I get sick to the stomach, so I know to spit it out. It's crazy, but it has been working for me. I am sure it'll balance out a little more for all of us and I look forward to not having to spit it out and just finding a proper portion minus that last bite!! Great job!! I am so excited for everyone.

I will absolutely take a few bites for you! 🙂 My husband and I love the garden district too. We always stay at one of the Hilton properties in the heart of everything, park our car and we don't get back in the car until it's time to return home! I LOVE walking everywhere. Right now I have to take 1 multi and 3 calcium chews. I hate the multi, but I would hate what would happen if I didn't take them more, so I take them. They are huge, chalky, and gross but I manage to choke them down first thing in the morning. They don't make me nauseous though. Certain foods and my protein shakes make me nauseous. I am not sure what my vitamin regimen will look like after my followup and labs, but hopefully it remains. Enjoy that cooler weather!

Hey Everyone! Just checking in. We are taking our sons to New Orleans tomorrow :-l It used to be one of my favorite places to visit. There is some great food in New Orleans!!! Looking forward to having a few days away with my husband and our boys (the younger one is pumped about the Lego Convention and the older one is just pumped for change of scenery), and I must admit.... having grilled or pan seared New Orleans cuisine for a few days is better than not having New Orleans cuisine at all. So... thankful for the little things. What's everyone else up to? How are things coming? Highs? Lows? and inbetweens

I haven't tried them yet, but they are on my try list. Have you tried Kay's Kruncheeze White Cheddar Cheese Chips? They are my absolute favorite and my go to chips. I purchase them by the case. 60 packs in each case. I love them. I don't eat them as much as I did before, but I ordered a case the first of the month. I always want to make sure I have them handy.

Oh my gosh, Sophie!! I LOLed because that was my hope too! I hate fish. I told my best friend and my husband (who both love fish) that I was hoping that I would have a taste for it after the sleeve, but it is still a no go. I tried drowning cod in lemon juice before cooking it, but I just don't like fish. This was so funny to me because it is me!
-
Chicken salad didn't work for me either and I don't each fish. I am with you with the plane jumping too. I always pack a couple of bags of Kay's protein chips and protein bars so that I can have some coming and going. When I reach my destination I find the nearest Target for my protein water and protein yogurt. You are right, is hard. It takes a LOT of work to stay diligent, but I feel sooo much better because I do. I definitely understand how you feel. Just keep working at it and I am certain you will find your rhythm soon. Best of continued luck to you!

Thanks so much!! I was sooo excited when 198 flashed across that scale. How are things coming along for you?

Hey everyone! Though I have been silent, I've been doing my best to keep up with all the post. I have to go back and read the latest, but for the most part I am all caught up. I haven't been as active on here (as far as responding) as I will be. It has taken me a while to get my bearings. I had a MAJOR issue with vomiting and while I still have my moments, it has gotten better. I can eat 3 ounces or so before I am full. Shrimp is really my go to. It really helps me with my protein count as well as it's just easier for me to digest. I am not a fan of protein shakes anymore; however, I have to have them to meet my numbers. Protein yogurt, protein water (protein h2o not premier protein), the occasional protein bar all come in handy for me. I had been working diligently to get under 200... I FINALLY did after 2 weeks of the scale not moving. I don't weigh myself daily. I honestly am not interested in how much weight I lose weekly. I am just focusing on meeting my overall goals.. under 200 by Feb 1st, lose another 20 by the end of March, etc. Water has not been working for me. I don't like the "taste" now. Pre surgery I consumed 100-120 ounces of plain water each day. I am having to use Crystal Light packs to get the water down mostly, but there are times that I do try to force it down without. There are so many changes that you go through post surgery. I am sure I am missing a lot, but look forward to being more active now. I am just focusing on what's before me and slowly plowing ahead and being patient with myself. I hope everyone is allowing a little grace and patience to flow your way. How is everyone else coming along?

@kjuno hoping all is coming along well!

Sounds great David!! Keep up the good work! I plan to try broth tomorrow. Yesterday and today has been switching between G2 and water, more water than G2. Oh, and the occasional sugar free tropical popsicle. My pain is very minimal and is only really recognized when I turn or move wrong. If I didn't have to battle against nausea the first two days, I think I would've been able to have shakes and such as well. Nonetheless, I am pleased with where I am and how I feel. Glad it's coming along great for you, David!
-
How is everyone from this week adjusting? Are you "eating" drinking anything other than water and gatorade? That's pretty much all I have consumed in the last two days, water and Gatorade. I don't want anything else. No worries on my end. It'll get better. Gas is passing through, so yay for that. How are you all who have had surgery this week?
-
Thanks do much @VSGDavid! It's been a lot better today. I haven't thrown up, so I'll take that. Gas is rumbling about in my tummy, but that's to be expected and hasn't been to bad. How are you? How is it coming?
-
Hey Everyone!!! I wanted to add another update at the hospital, but was to busy walking and sleeping. I had surgery on Thursday, IMMEDIATELY the nausea took over. The staff updated my family while I was in recovery and shared that I been back there throwing up in my sleep. Got to the room and that continued literally all day on Thursday and yesterday. Had it not been for the nausea.... I would have had such simple days. Yesterday they FINALLY found a combination for me to free me from the nausea. After Thursday, I didn't need pain medicine. There is some discomfort, and on my end due to the constant heaving, and lots of swelling. I just laid back down from walking again. It is true to never trust passing gas. Each time I have gone to the bathroom and each time, saved my pride!!! I have my pain medicine, both nausea medicines, pepcid, and gas X on my nightstand and have been only using the nausea meds, and gas meds. All in all, some discomfort, lots of walking, sipping, and resting. Whoever is next.. you have this!! You will do wonderfully.

Lying in bed, sleepy, medicated, tired, but ok. Woke up throwing up a few times, that is NO JOKE! Hopefully tomorrow will better.
