I have been all set on the lapband but now that I've read all these blogs I'm thinking gastric bypass might be the way for me. I'm having a hard time deciding. My BMI is 43. I've been heavy all my life except when I'd lose a few lbs just to put it right back on. I want to be able to keep up with my hubby and kids, right now I can't :wink_smile:. I'm just so terrified of the health risk. I want to hear from you people who have had gastric bypass. I want to know all about your experiences, good and bad. I just want to make sure I make the right decision for me. Thanks everyone ! Edie

Yah, its a six month class. I'll let you know how that goes once I know more about it. I am so ready to lose weight ! I just want to wait until my first weigh in on the 22nd because they want me to lose 30 lbs in the next six months before the surgery. I'm getting myself pretty motivated

Hi Numbrgirl, I was wondering if you went threw medical insurance to get your band. I live in Riverside also and I'm just starting the long process of trying to get approved threw my insurance for the lapband. Thats wonderful the weight you've lost so far, what a blessing the lap band is to so many people. I'm praying and praying that I will be able to get it soon. Hope to hear from you soon :tt2: Anne
