Thanks for the sweet comments, but yes I did need it. I am so glad I did. Seems like such a common problem amongst women trying to keep it off. I never knew there was a whole world of bandsters out there. lol nice to meet so many people who can relate.

  2. I think we all think about what we are doing before we get it done, not knowing exactly what to expect. You are told but until you go through it yourself you will never know. I was a cash patient and I would do it again in a heart beat. It is only a tool to help you on your journey. Things did change after I got banded. I know longer drink diet cokes and a cup of coffee does me good plus many more, but what I really notice is how I am not so sluggish anymore from all the junk food or fast food and I am very satisfied with what I am eating. Hope this helps.
  3. Hi Dananah,

I did not have a problem getting approved for the surgery, but I was a cash patient. I also had a BMI of 35. Insurance claims usually have to have atleast 2 morbid obese symptoms like sleep apnea, high blood pressure, etc.... most require 6 months documented dr. assisted weight loss a dietian a pychatrist elvaluation and most only let you try twice for insurance if you get denied both times you can't try again. Good Luck and I will answer any questions you may have.
