fluffy562 replied to rebchief's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yikes. I'm 4 days post op and my doctor won't let me have anything like egg drop soup. He said he doesn't want anything to push up against my staples. I'm jealous. I'm so hungry!!! -
You've got this! congrats to the both of you.

yay to the August 23 sleevers! me too! I am starving as well. I am craving all kinds of crazy stuff. I'm going to call my doctor. the liquid diet isn't cutting it. I can't wait till I'm moved to at least puree foods. -
kuddos to all of you... I had surgery 4 days ago. my energy level is no where near being able to return to work. I'm a hairdresser with a flexible schedule and plan on returning Sept 4 with shorter days. i know my energy struggles with the fact I can't get my fluids in. I'm doing 4 oz fluids every 2 hours and I feel like i'm starving. such a struggle.

HI, I am 47 and 4 days post op. struggling with the fluids. but walking a lot -
continuously doing my research for my surgery isn't until August 23. I want to make sure that aside from my supplements that will be needed that I get all the nutrients possible. I've been taking supplements to ramp up prior as well. I came across the benefits or Bone Broth rather than just " broth" you buy at the store. Was wondering if anyone else made their own?? for my Liquid diet portion, i'm gonna crock pot a large batch. Articles are saying that that it's excellent for speeding healing, Helps heal and seal your gut, promotes healthy digestions, inhibits infection, reduces joint pain and inflammation, fights inflammation, promotes healthy hair and nail growth and promote strong healthy bones!!! Score!!! WHY NOT !! I'm an avid pinterest queen. Love all the recipes. found several for both chicken and beef bone broth. Another product my friend told me about. "Collagen Protein powder". she adds hers to her coffee everyday. I'm sure down the road when I'm at that point in my journey I will try as well. Researched the benefits of this product too: stronger joints faster recovery smoother skin ( not sure what will happen with all the skin) just thought I would share. off course I will talk to my doctor about the Collagen first.

wanted to know your experience with hair loss after surgery. the surgery itself doesn't scare me one bit. not even my new life style change i have coming. only the hair loss part..... I have very thin hair as it is and can't imagine how the loss will go. my friend loss her hair around the front hairline and looked like chunks were missing. of course it's grown back since. she's two years out since her surgery. please share.

How often do you weigh yourself?
fluffy562 replied to Tracy1978's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't own a scale. don't plan on owning a scale after my surgery either. owning a scale would just mess more with me emotionally. I go by clothes and when I go to the doctors. my weigh ins will be at my follow ups only. again, this is just my personal preference. Just want my focus on this exciting journey and the new lifestyle changes. I know everything else will follow -

For those who have lost weight- how does it feel to be thin?
fluffy562 replied to Elle_Woods's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great thread!! Love it. Can't wait to start my journey and unleash my inner self I once was. Hiding from going places where I'm afraid to run into people I know and the current comments " Wow, you look great!" yeah right! I know what they're thinking. LOL!! -

How do you tells others about your transformations.
fluffy562 replied to JessiG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@JessiG I'm having the same issue. So I have a story in mind that I am going to tell my clients and others. Everyone in my life knows I have struggled and am always trying some sort of diet. most every0ne knows I also suffer from joint pain and high blood pressure, etc. I don't lie well and I HATE lying but here is my story: my surgery is August 23 and I'm starting to let people know that after my last summer trip I've decided to join Lindora weight loss center ( it's a place I've done before ) so I know how the program works and I can answer questions. pretty much keto diet, but you have to be accountable everyday by going in and weighing yourself and pee on a stick to see if your body is in Ketois. then you get a "B12" shot ( which I'm not sure that is really what it is) LOL. Preparing my friends up front and letting them know that I'm taking a break from the social events for awhile so I CAN get on track without distractions and if they are my friends and clients they will understand and be supportive. Again, this is my story. whether it works or not... I shall see. Good luck. I'm in the same boat as well. -
Just wanted to introduce myself and begin my journey with you. I am 47 years old. I'm scheduled for the VGS August 23, 2018 and I can't wait. I suffer from arthritis, hip trouble, knee pain and apparently I snore my family out of the house. I have been researching, reading everything the internet provides & watching YouTube videos. I look forward to getting my life back. To not have to endure the pain & wake up with energy wanting to exercise. I've been overweight now going on 13 years. Have been on every diet since only to be successful to a certain point and then back to the same old routine. When I turned 45 my whole body went sideways. Within a few months, I went to hearing aids, reading glasses, neck surgery, root canal and arthritis all within 4 months. I don't want my kids to see me suffer any longer. I am fully prepared mentally to get back to living life to the fullest knowing It's not going to be an easy road, but willing to do the work to prove not only to myself, but to my kids that anything is possible. My question to you is ..... Do I tell my kids I'm having the surgery? or do I not? I have two teenage boys and I don't want to send the wrong message. But they don't know the pain I struggle emotionally. They are only aware of my physical struggle. Looking for opinions, Thanks

Pre-op diet question. Please help!
fluffy562 replied to Kella112's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I guess every surgeon is different when it comes to pre-op diets. My surgeon only recommends liquid diet the day before surgery. I'm going to ask him when I go to my pre-0p appointment why that is? -
August 23! Whooo can't come fast enough. I have 2 more vacations prior

Thanks everyone. I am taking everything in to consideration. BarrySue hit it on the nose. my oldest teen can respect PRIVACY my younger one not so much. This is the challenge we are having with our 13 year old. Can't seem to keep it to himself and this isn't something I need for him to tell others. My journey and my story to tell or not tell. Only peeps I want to know is my mother, husband and best friend. My husband and I planned the surgery around his annual trip he takes with our boys and he will be gone for a week with them the day I have the surgery and my mother will be here to help me. That why I questioned if I should even tell them really. Anyone who has boys especially teenagers, know they are oblivious to anything around them that doesn't suit them. For me to be on a liquid diet wouldn't phase then cause I'm always on some sort of diet. But again, Thank you. I truly am excited for this next part of my life. I enjoy reading through site and journeys.
