    finding fill Doctors

Hi AngAsh 1, My BMI was 32 when I was banded in June of 05, it is currently 24. I would like to loose another 15#'s and am looking forward to another Bandsters boot camp which was very helpful to me last spring. My metabolism was so depressed initially that even though eating no more the 1200 calories I didn't start to loose weight consistently until I was stron enough to increase my arobic exc and weight training to about 7 hrs a wk. Initially I used walking outside or treadmill then progressed to an ellyptical machine which I love because it's easy to get my heart rate up to 150 which is the level that seems to work best for me. It took me quite a while to work up to 30-40 minutes of wt training 3 x's a wk. The holiday period has been a trip for me both years since banding with increased goodies and decreased exc. I'm having some trouble getting back on the band wagaon. I gained a few pounds over this holiday. Last year I think I maintained. It doesn't worry me too much because I see this issue with moderate eating and exc to be a lifetime project. Good luck to you in your weight loss and finding a local Doctor for your fills. In my area it was going to cost me as much for a fill as it costs to fly back to Mexico for a fill. Extrordinary unreasonable cost for the floroscopy portion of the fill. I'll be interested to see how you make out with this.

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

Hey Sarge, Our final weigh in for Spring 06! I'm going to miss this structure. Weight is 160, lost 13.5 #'s and 2 more inches for a total of inches lost, 24. body fat per scale is 37% and calculated is 34%, BMI 25.8 (way better than the 35 I was before the band a year ago). Good luck to all the LB bootcampers as the summer goes on.

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

Hi All, wt is 160.5 today and body fat on my scale says 37%, if I compute the figure from known lean body mass I get 31% - guess which # I'm going with. Hope everyone had a great week! Bought some bra's that fit and a swim suit overy the w/e - who'd have thought that would be fun.

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

Hi all, Wt is 162, 38% body fat, 3" down.... size 14 on top and 12's on bottom yeah. Continue with minimum 7 hrs exercise and lots of water. Eating about 1000, This challenge has been so good for me especially Monday check in as the w/e's are the most challenging to maintain eating plan. Hope everyone is doing well.

I did not loose weight today, such a bummer. I have been noticing I can suck in my gut these days to as close to flat as it's been in a great many years. I accomplished 35#'s down since getting the band last June and 45 down from my highest weight since a year ago winter. 30#'s to go. I had 2 days last week that I overate... at least it didn't feel like "the beginning of the end. I seem to have less "all or nothing" thinking. Exercise is going well water in take is great...just have to get back to the average intake of 1200 cal/day. Hope everyone did better than I did this week!

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

Hi fellow boot camp loosers, wt 163, body fat states 38% on my scale, only down 1 1/2", the whole measuring thing...I have a very hard time being consistant with.....too tight... not snug enough etc. Measurements have been a great thing though when the scales weren't cooperating. Hope everyone is doing well. This week represents 10.5#'s total - I'm happy!

Hi All, Hope your Memorial Day was great....I'm very late checking in for the 29th and know it won't get picked up sarge till June 5 but hey...I'm happy.... I decided to trash my crazy size 22 short.... and it's a 14 that fits....couldn't believe it. wt is 165.5... were we supposed to measure? That didn't happen. I'm coming up on my one year anniversary June 10.... I'm 45 #'s down wouldn't it be great to be 50 # by my anniversay? Might not be realistic but will continue to exercise 1.5 hrs a day, drink lots of water and eat <1300. Where is everyone else cking in...I seem to be in the wrong place. If anyone can straighten me out I'd appreciate it.

Hey Sarge, Better this week weight is 167. Chest is down 1/2", waist 1", belly 1" and hips down 1"....yeah! Having more trouble controlling evening eating...probably need a fill. Exercise is feeling manageable...9 hours last week, 3hrs weights,3 hours intense arobic and the balance brisk walking, raking and yard work.

Hi camp buddies, Oh Sarge.... wt is exactly the same this morning... to much Mother's day. Exercised 7 hours last week and kept wt trainig going - drank all my water but had too many festive occasions last week. I'll do better next week. Leaning to celebrate without eating more than I should would be a good life lesson.

Sarge, Yikes I'm getting flipped around with the threads. I am 6#'s down now at end of week 4 and was 4.5#'s down at end week 3 on May 1st. I'm 14.5" down which is blowing my mind. everything fits very differently. thanks for your help with this.

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

Hey Sarge, I was out of town and tried to send stats in yesterday but couldn't seem to get logged on correctly from someone elses computor. Understand this info will probably go with next weeks. May 8th wt 167.5 with 3" lost whoo whoo. Last week was multiple events celebrating Mom's 80th birthday and a banquet to celebrate her winning Woman of the Year in her home town. She's an amazing woman.... all I had to do was keep the exercise going and not eat to much. Whoo hoo again - not to shabby. Hope everyone else is doing well. Thanks for doing this....it sure helps. Am I entering these notes in the correct place? I can't figure out where everyone elses enteries are. As you can tell I'm not too computor literate.

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

Good morning. wt today is 169 and body fat still shows 41% on my scale. I'll be out of town balance of this week and Monday of next - am commited to exercise one to one and a half hrs a day 6 days a week, water away from food, 1100 calories daily to keep the wt loss going. If I can figure out someone elses computor I'll get myself logged in next week on time. If not it will be Tuesday next week before I can enter wt and inches.

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

Hi Sarge, Reporting in wt is 171, neck 13.5, chest 38/35 bust 40, waist 35, belly 43. hips 42.5, thighs 24.5/24, arms 11.25/12. Excercised my buns off...well actually looks like upper body is moving along and buns are about the same - 6 hours last week, 2 of those wt training and the balance 1/2 intense arobic, HR to 150 and 1/2 walking briskly outside, lots of water and eating without flds just under 1200 calories. Woo hoo 2#'s down, body fat on scale not budged - says 41% and it seems like that's 10.75 less in inches - hm... that seems like more than you'd expect - some of that might be difference in measuring technique - but lots of folks are commenting on I look different.

    Spring Bootcamp 2006

WT 173 -that's a bummer, did my water, excersised 7 hrs (2 where wt trainnig). However 3 folks comented on my wt loss over the w/e and the inches are already coming down so I'm ok with palty loss - hopefully I gained some muscle.

You are all so good with the symbols...sorry don't have a clue how to use them. I was banded in June 05 in Mexico and first fill 1.7 in August. I've been a turtle but since getting the notion that is mattered that I not drink with food, inc water and inc exercise I'm actually loosing again. 208#'s before surgery 173 today. Afraid to get another fill - way to much trouble with tolerating solids. Settled down now but don't want to mess with a good thing. I'm on board Sarge!

Weight loss succes factors - our own study

Several great things have come out of participating in this study. I could see I wasn't excersising nearly enough so am not up to an hour and a half a day. I'm better at avoiding drinking with my meal but am drinking much more water overall. I too count calories in a diary format when I'm being for real so I know I'm eating 11 to 1300 instead of the 1600 I was getting down some days before. After a 6 month stall where I was freaking myself out about how this wasn't working and look what I'd spent on it (never mind what I'd done to my body). Now I'm thinking well this is the time period - winter - when you've tipically gained back all you lost in the previous spring summer period. So....if that's what the band has done for me -I didn't gain any weight! Now back on the wagon so to speak. I'm pleased and down 4#'s - considering I'm only down 28#'s total - 4#'s is gold.

Weight loss succes factors - our own study

I thought not drinking with meals was so you didn't get full faster....dah! ddin't affect me that way so I've kept on. Most wt lost in early recovery period. very slow now. Think I'll try not drinking with meals. Thanks for info. Stats: 210 / 8 months / 100% / 150 minutes of ex a week /1 fill / no weight loss drugs / caucasion / 35 #'s

What does everyone do for a living?

I'm a nurse, currently working for an insurance company. It's MESSA, the teachers insurance in Michigan - a great company to work for. I did clinical work for 30 years in ER, Labour and delivery, psychiatric and home care. Nursing has been very good to me in terms of doing lots of different kinds of work over the years with lots of flexibility when the kids were small.

    finding fill Doctors

Thanks Cheryl, That's the closest I've been in my search. Do you know if they are suburban Detroit? I'm from Flint but wouldn't mind going that far. I'm going to see if I can find contact info. I'll let you know how it goes.
