Starving still... regret seriously increasing
Hrsnjs replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
What Fluffy said is totally true. Even soft foods do not fill you up like substance. When you're having to chew chew chew, those things sit heavy and fill me up with just a couple of ounces (eggs, turkey sausage, that kind of thing). When eating yogurt or cottage cheese or things like that, I can probably hold double before feeling full. As soon as you're past the mushies I bet you feel better after eating. Hang in there, this is weird for all of us newbies! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -

I thought the same. I took colace every day and eventually senekot (both surgeon approved). Took me 12 days after surgery to finally go. Didn't help on the scale like I really had expected it to! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

Insurance decision tomorrow

I probably do have it! I'll find it and share. For some reason the private message function doesn't work for me on this BP app...email me hrsnjs@gmail.com with your email info. I'll try to find it tomorrow and email it to you. I'm not sure it will help but it's worth a shot!! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -
Keep with it! I had the same experience. I lost 13lbs in the first 10 days. Then I stalled for a week. Today the scale finally moved again. Your body is just freaking out and thinks you're starving. Stick to plan, the scale will move. Drove me nuts. We have yo get used to plateaus as we lose. I just never expected it so soon. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

Insurance decision tomorrow
Hrsnjs replied to OlRachel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely appeal! I was initially denied as well. I met every condition in their policy and did a medically supervised diet for two YEARS. Lost 10% of my body weight. My surgeon's office appealed for me, and my primary care doctor wrote a letter about the denial. They finally overturned their denial. Sometimes I think they just want to make people give up and go away, to save money. Keep fighting!!! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -
That makes sense to me too. [emoji6] Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Hrsnjs replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Hey all you IF fans...I did it for a while pre-op during the time I was required to lose 10% of my body weight for insurance to cover my VSG. I'm only a few weeks post-op now. Is IF something you all would wait to start til after the healing process and onto regular foods 100%? Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -

Question: are the protein chips and snacks we order from BP count as "slider foods"? Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -

This really helps to hear! I ate soft flaky fish tonight for the first time and 2.5oz filled me up. Much less than when I eat softies like cottage cheese or soups, stuff like that. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

I have been the same, everything is working well snd I haven't had any issues with any food I've tried, and I've strayed a little from soft textures. Knowing you were like that and then had issues I will pay close attention to each new thing I try. I love this resource that we have in each other! How long did it take to hit your goal and when did your loss slow down?
Hrsnjs replied to danieocean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will try it tomorrow and let you know! The only brand I've tried is Unjury but I add the unflavored to everything I drink and easily get 80+g per day mostly from that. It's great [emoji7] you can DEFINITELY smell it in the drink and that gets to me but the taste is not bad! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -

I'm going to try the tea thing to break up the sweet from crystal lite. I wonder how my unflavored protein powder would taste in it. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -
That is awesome progress. And I'm hoping with more solid foods that things start to move a little. I did send an email to my nutritionist and will see what she says about the portions. It's funny how different programs have different guidelines. Mine has no calorie restrictions at all. Just 1/4 cup meals 3x a day, protein drinks and water in between. 60-80g of protein per day. Thank you! I'm on soft textured foods. Happy to be past clear and full liquids for sure. Getting plenty of protein. Trying to eat beans and avocados to keep the fiber up. I am using half sticks of crystal lite to get all my water in and that may have lots of sodium, I'll have to check that out. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -

I'm almost three weeks post op as well and I've been stalled got like 5 days. Lost 13lbs in the first week and waiting for the scale to move again. Staying on the water game and waiting! You're doing awesome, congrats! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app -

How much Protein were you hitting right after post-op?
Hrsnjs replied to vsgnewbie77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been getting 80g a day or so. We have to drink so much anyways...I'm adding benefiber, half a stick of crystal lite (or similar flavor), and 1/2 scoop of unflavored Unjury protein powder to 16oz of water in a blender bottle. Voila. Also...my fave is 8oz skim milk (Fairlife, lactose free) with one scoop of Chocolate Splendor flavored Unjury protein powder. Right there in that 8oz is 34g of protein, and it almost tastes like chocolate Ovaltine! [emoji6] I don't think I could ever get enough protein just from what we are able to eat. Good luck! Hey, October peeps! I have an odd question. It's in regard to portion sizes per meal. I'm currently on soft textured foods. The program I'm in states to have three meals per day, 1/4 cup each, and stop eating when you become full. I know tell doing lots of research and watching tons of YouTube videos that one person's sleeve will not necessarily be the same size as the next. My issue is...I can hold much more than 1/4 cup, even just a few weeks out. Like at least 1/2 to 3/4 cup. So here is the question. Do I eat what I can accommodate? Or do I stick to the recommended 1/4 cup per meal for the first 4 months? My information from the surgeon says 1/4 cup will make for less early stretching of the sleeve. I know some people say they can't even eat the whole 1/4 cup. This may resolve as I eat more solid rather than liquid foods like soups and such. Your all's input is appreciated.
