    Non scale victory

I guess my body is changing so I'm trying not to feel too discouraged. I gained 1.4lbs in the last week...I'm 3 weeks post op today. Total loss since the surgery is 11.2 lbs. But in the last week I've also gone from a size 1X in comfy stretch pants to a regular XL. And I've lost 20" which is CRAZY. Nice to see some results and not just be obsessed with the scale. I'm also off of 3 of the 5 RX meds I was on, and another reduced by half. No more diabetes or high blood pressure. All of this is amazing for three weeks and that's what I need to hold onto. 4. I only went a couple/few times a week pre-op, but I was getting worried when it took me 12 days to go. And even though I'd been taking a softener every day, it was still bad. Have gone every few days since, still using softeners and sometimes senekot, but it's been difficult every time. Hope it returns to normal soon. All the water does not seem to help. I started taking senekot once I reached 10 days with no movement. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

    Mental Starvation?

I am exactly the same. I drink a lot through the day before dinner. Once my dinner is digested, I become like ravenous before bed. I need to continue to drink at night too. I hate all the liquid so I stop at my 64oz. I need to just keep going to make sure something is in my tummy. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

    October 2018 Sleevers

Seems most of us who were sleeved in the last 3-5 weeks are all experiencing the frustration of the scale sticking. Sucks! But it seems to happen to everyone...it will pick up for us too! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

    Favorite liquids/soft foods?

Creamers are high in sugar, generally...and heavy cream is high in fat. I know a lot of people like the flavored ready to drink premier protein shakes as a coffee creamer. They have chocolate, caramel, etc! Protein coffee! For softies I like low fat cottage cheese, soups of all kinds (blended so they're not chunky, no pasta or rice), yogurts like triple zero by oikos. Once I could have beans I also liked vegetarian refried beans with some mild taco sauce and cheese, thinned out a little. Laughing cow cheese wedges are low in calories, carbs and fat. Good luck!! Yogurt

It's funny but the Simply Gogurts (yes the ones for kids) only have 6g of sugar total and they are also great frozen. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

I feel the same right now! So many do. Just know it will work if you stick to your approved foods, get your protein and water. Apparently these little stalls and plateaus are normal and we need to chill. If you look at some of the vets info they've posted, they've all had months where they only lost 3,4,5 pounds in a month. It's the adding up over time that really makes a difference. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Lol. This is so me. And I know from lots of people on here, so many have felt the same way! Keep checking in here. It helps knowing I'm not alone and that others have felt as I do. I don't personally know anyone who's had WLS of any kind...so this resource is really valuable to me. I live too far away from my surgeon's office to go to the support group meetings they have. 14. I am in the same boat as you. Wondering if it will even work. Three weeks out and the scale has moved a pound in the last week. Lost 13 the first 5 days. We just need to patient. Not my strong suit! Keep on the water and protein. Trust the process! I haven't seen anybody yet say it didn't work for them at all. Regain, sure. But it does seem to work. For everyone. 16. My doctor did exactly the same thing every month. They denied saying my co morbid conditions were well controlled with pharmaceutical therapy and I did not need the surgery. Which was not part of their own policy. So when she wrote the letter, she argued that the policy did not state co morbid conditions must be well controlled, just that they had to be present for at least five years. Then she made some snarky comment about how the patient could jump through every hoop for two years, and a greedy insurance company would deny based on frivolous reasons, denying a jars working American of the medical care she needed to become healthy. BAM! LOL. I love my doctor. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

  19. Haha! My hubby is not skinny and eats fast food all the time! The other night I did cave and had half a little container of pintos n cheese from taco Bell. Could have been healthier at home for sure but it was good! Took care of the craving send I haven't wanted anything like that since. I discovered it was mostly in my head because I felt deprived. So when I think that I don't WANT it, it makes it easier for me! Lol, I'm tricking myself [emoji23] Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I have really loved that I'm full and satisfied with so little food. I'm using baby spoons and trying to savor everything! Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Also, for me...the longer I go without the junk I'm craving, the easier it gets. As I feel better and realize that stuff makes me feel like crap! It just tastes so good! It helps when I find something I CAN have that I really really love. Then I don't feel deprived. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. You're doing great. That is hard for me also. But this is long term...we have to deal with being around the stuff all the time! And when we are at goal, once in a while, I may have a bite of pizza or a bite of cake. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app

    Liquid diet struggle

I alternated between tuna mixed with pickles and low fat mayo, or baked chicken breast or white fish like tilapia. I'd have cucumbers and tomatoes with the tuna, and green beans, asparagus, spinach or broccoli with the meats. I used seasonings for flavor rather than sauces or butters. Admittedly it was a boring couple of weeks but I planned ahead and it was easy. Even though I didn't want that stuff anymore, after! But now I'd like to have it all! Liquid diet struggle

Hang in there. In my opinion the pre op diet is the hardest part because you feel like you're starving. It's hard but it's doable. I was allowed sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles and broth in addition to my shakes and one lean meal. Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app
