  1. I had my first fill the day after Valentines (2-15-06), On my fill instruction sheet it says: DO NOT DRINK WHILE EATING; Do not drink 30 minutes before eating, while you are eating and for 3O minutes after eating. Is this just after fills or am I suppose to follow this rule from here on out and why? SOS (sorry so slow) Surgeon: Dr Benavides at Richardson Surgery Center surgery on 1-11-06 15 lbs lost since surgery:D

    DO NOT DRINK WHILE EATING...Why?

And I am sure I was told many times..I had so many things to process at one time it didnt sink in...I think I was probably trying to deny it.

Jonathan ....You were in the fill center at SCOR on 2/15 ? I was there at 12:30 when the electricity went out. They gave me my fill but were having to send other appointments away until later.

[sigh] Ok... that makes sense. Thanks
  5. Hello I just wanted to introduce myself as newly banded in Texas. I had my band surgery on 1-11-2006 by Dr. Benavides at the Richardson Surgery Center. I cant say enough about the Doctor, his staff and the wonderful care they provided. :clap2: Everything has gone smoothly except I have this rumbling in my tummy. I just finished the stage 1 clear liquid diet and have moved on to stage 2 of mush/blended. I am scheduled for my first fill on, of all days, Valentines Day. I am wondering what to expect after my first fill...Should I save the money and cancel my restaurant reservations for Valentines Night or will I still be able to eat? :hungry:

The Surgery Center of Richardson even treated my parents to a free lunch while I was in recovery.

    Not Losing Weight

I was just looking up how long I need to stay on the stage 2 diet and I read this... " Keep in mind a positive attitude is key to the success of this surgery. The LAP BAND Adjustable Gastric Banding surgery is a tool to help you achieve your weight control goal. It does not guarantee you weight loss. You must be ready and committed to making and continuing the appropriate diet changes to achieve your goal of losing weight and keeping it off." Rather depressing to think that I actually have to work at this,....that is where the positive attitude must come in.
