I need to start using the web on my phone when I'm using my phone to check this site instead of the app...for some reason the app doesn't give you an option to quote, but maybe only the website does.

I have my bad days and my ok days lol today wasn't so bad. I was actually not hungry as much as normal when it was time to "drink" my meal again, lol. I have to learn to stop weighing myself every single morning though. It'll drive you nuts! I lost 9lbs between day 1 and day 6, gained 2 on day 7, and lost another 1.8 or so where im at now. So I'm basically back at the 9lbs or so I was at beforehand, and thinking omg what if that means I won't lose as much afterwards and so forth but I know it's just my anxiety messing with me lol. As for cravings...i hate facebook and commercials. literally EVERYTHING, even stuff I never ate, looks amazing. Like I never ate fast food but let me tell you, my son had some white castle today and holey crap did those "terribly bad for you" chicken rings he got look like a steak and lobster dinner, haha. I don't miss my coffee like I thought I would, but I'd devour some shrimp or a big turkey sandwich right about now. When i think about some foods I swear I can literally taste it in my mouth. Like...hawaiian rolls... probably a big "no no" but man, those were good. I just miss food period, lmao. Cant wait for puree stage! Man I miss eggs. Thank god it's almost over lol. I'm sure the broth and other full liquids we can "eat" after is going to taste like heaven made it.

Only a few more days left for me, too! OMG it won't get here soon enough lol

Until yesterday, I'd lost 9lbs (for 6 days worth of liquid diet), but this morning I gained 1.4 of it back which has be SUPER perplexed because not a single thing changed...I didn't eat more, didn't eat at any different time of day, didn't cheat. I'm like wtf? Lol. I'm gonna see what happens tomorrow morning...maybe my scale was just weird.

Good luck on your surgery! Mine's coming up next week too. I'm on day 7 of the diet and it's not as bad as it once was. When I see food I know tastes good, though, im like "damn, you look delicious, I miss you.." but I don't eat it. I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dying for an espresso from Starbucks and a big, juicy steak right about now lol

I started my pre-op diet on Friday the 3rd and lost 9lbs so far (which would have been awesome if I hadn't gained 5lbs the week before during my "food funeral" lol). Still, 9lbs is 9lbs and I still have a little over a week to go.

Hey there, It's got it's ups and downs. It was really rough at first, then yesterday was super easy, then today idk why but I definitely was hungry before it was time to drink my shake lol. But Im not tired anymore so that's good, and energy overall is going back up. 5th day down...cant WAIT til next Friday lol

I couldn't agree with you more. My main #1 priority and reason for this is health as well. My son lost his father last August because he never took care of himself and never went to the doctors and that was a huge awakening for me that I needed to step up my game because doing the same thing is not an option. Of course I want to be thinner and look on the outside how I feel on the inside, but health is my priority. The one thing I've gained from finding this forum and everyone in it is that I don't feel ashamed of myself or upset or anything negative. For the first time I feel like I can be myself with no judgment because we're all in the same boat. Either someone's already gone through the process, is waiting to go through it, or is currently going through it - but either way, we're all the same here, even if our outsides look different, ya know? I think some of society has just forgotten what its like to not judge others (in general). We as people should be building our brothers and sisters up, not bringing them down. ..I sound like I'm preaching, I'm sorry lol. I've just gotten so inspired in the last couple weeks of being here that I want to spread my joy around I guess lol. You'll get through this - you got this! You're doing it for the right reasons and I applaud you. Think positive, and when it seems bleak, reach out to someone - be it family, or us (your online fam) cause we're here for ya

I'm so glad to have found this site. As I'm sure all of you know, this is such a journey full of literally every emotion all at once and sometimes one can feel alone at times going through the process like I do, at times. Finding somewhere to talk to everyone about my own personal journey where there is no judgment and nothing but support is priceless. Many of my visits at the bariatric weight control center urged me to try out their in-person support groups, and I definitely would go if it wasn't over an hour away from my house as it is - and all of you guys have been amazing at being a support group and, even though I'm still new here, I want to thank you all. I've seen nothing but positive comments and feedback from everyone so far. Ever since I knew I was taking this journey I've become almost obsessed with watching testimonials on youtube and reading success stories that I felt like I was part of almost a sisterhood/brotherhood/family of people (sounds silly, I'm sure lol). But it's true - everyone here will know at least in some way, shape, or form what we're each going through and that's a very awesome thing to be part of a community of. I do have a boyfriend who is supportive of my decision, but much of this process I feel he is not understanding of and I will even be at the hospital alone because he will have to be home watching my son before surgery and after and knowing I Have you guys to reach out to helps a lot. I rambled, I do that sometimes lol. Maybe it's because I'm emotional, or I've had my last cup of coffee (I'm giving it up a few days before my pre op diet begins, to get a head start), but thank you all for being totally awesome

Yeah - my dietician wanted me to start it 2 weeks prior to surgery. At least I have a fairly decent diet though. I have to have 4 meal replacement shakes a day (HMR 70) and a lean Bariatric style dinner (similar to what they sell on this site) and 64oz of water a day. Sounds easy enough but maaaaan will I miss my coffee lol. I gave it up 3 months ago for about a month then I fell back and had a cup here and there. But on early work mornings like today is when I’ll really miss it the most.

Welcome to the August family @jenremy1028 ! :)

Nice Jul! We're surgery twins!! Emotions wise, I feel like literally every emotion that exists I feel most of the time (lol). I'm excited, nervous, worried, happy, anxious, and extremely curious what my own results will end up being etc all in one. But this week has been interesting - I keep seeing different foods going "goodbye, chicken wing"... "goodbye cup of coffee". lol. Pre op diet time is almost here I have to start mine on Friday.

August 17th here :)

@BadWolf523 & @Malcy - good luck! We're here for you @Frustr8 haha , you're close enough to be an honorary August buddy with us in my opinion
-
Ooh hi, we're close to surgery twins! Mine's scheduled for the 17th
-
I'm having Roux-en-Y gastric bypass on August 11th
-
omg mine starts in 5 days now and I'm freaking out lol. I'm walking around my house saying goodbye to my straws, coffee...anything else not liquid (lol). Luckily my diet is allowing me to have 4 meal-replacement shakes a day + a bariatric cuisine/dinner , so I hope it helps get me past the "omg I'm hungry" phase of the pre-op diet.
-
Thanks Frustr8 While I don't get to be A Sept buddy with you, I'll still be a surgery buddy with you
-
JUST got a call from my surgeon's office for my date!!! I'm scheduled for August 17th!!
