I just had my vsg surgery on July 10th. I have been feeling super emotional about drinking/eating and I guess I'm writing this post because I just want to not feel alone. It hurts so much to drink that I don't want to drink anything. Everybody around me keeps getting on me about my fluids/protein intake and I know it's because they care about me and my health but it's really starting to get annoying because they don't understand how much pain I'm in. At this point I rather not drink or eat anything all day even though I know it's bad for me. Did anybody else go through this? Please tell me it gets better and that this is just for a while. So I had my surgery last Wednesday (7/10/18). I've been able to keep everything down and I'm not nauseous but when ever I drink just the littlest bit of something the top of my stomach hurts and it feels stuck in my chest. Does anybody else have this problemand if so do you have solutions? I'm going to the doctors Thursday but my doctor doesn't have the best bed side manners so I thought I might just check here first. Yeah I had never had any surgery before so this has been all new to me. Today is the first day I woke up and haven't felt like crap. Lol my pain is fine except my right side by one of the incisions it feels like there is something cramping or fluid is moving around under there.
