    Not Protein Driven

If you have Netflix’s look at this documentary called: The Health it’s talking about protein, however you may never eat meat again after watching this, I definitely don’t care for meat after watching this. World renown doctor’s talking about protein and how plant base is better for you. P.S. you can probably watch it on YouTube to if you don’t have Netflix’s. I watched this way before I ever thought about getting the sleeve, plan to be sleeved soon.

    This is so hard

Thanks for the clarification just preparing my mind for either way. Hopefully the latter and it be good like most after 3-5 days geez I hope. But like I said I have to get my approval first. Again thanks and I pray that you start to feel better and become apart of that BIGGEST LOSER club like everyone else I can't wait until I join in a good way BEING A LOSER is not a bad thing when it comes to better health.

    This is so hard

Are you speaking of the stitches on the outside of your stomach or are you saying the staples inside where they cut off part of your stomach, I'm only asking because I don't want to be confused even though you said stitches. Also, I ask because I haven't had the surgery I'm still in the 1st stages of getting to the 1st consult to speak with a doctor and go over insurance options which I don't think I will be approved for so I plan on paying self pay. I know you can never compare yourself to anyone else just asking for clarity and just in case signs when I have my surgery.

  9. Hello BP Pal's, I'm new to the site, I'm interested in getting the VSG and I have my consult on September 4th, 2018. I have struggled with my weight for 23 year now since I had my beautiful daughter. I am concerned that I might not be approved because, although I have struggled and been on many diets, exercise fitness plans personal trainer's you name it I've done it and even had the Gastric Balloon inserted in October 2017 and I did go from 212lbs to 194.8 losing only 17.20lbs and paying $8900 for it I really don't see where it helped me because if I look at food since having it removed in April 2018 I will gain weight. I am planning on self pay because I don't think the insurance will approve me since I do not have any ongoing health issues which is what I'm attempting to avoid, due to my mother having so many health issues due to her weight which finally took her life some years back. I don't want to be sick and on all those medicines and the thought of this scares me to pieces, before she died she advised all of her daughters never to allow ourselves to get over 150lbs because it so hard thereafter, to get it off and boy was she telling the truth although, I wasn't at that weight when she passed away I was over 150lbs. I'm am currently 198lbs and 5"3 which makes me obese 35.2BMI, before having my daughter I was 131lbs and that was with two son's I had before her, I wanted to know if anyone know anyone that is self pay and if so around my stats that was able to get the surgery. The surgery will cost me around $28k but I don't mind paying since I choose life over illnesses and medicines, I cannot imagine keeping this weight on I have to get if off and I truly need the help although I know this is only a tool there is nothing worst then eating clean and exercising 5 days a week 1.5hrs taking over 10k steps a day and not seeing any loss it truly is disappointing and make you want to give up but, I refuse to let this weight over take my life I will do what I have to do so that I can have a better quality of life and longevity.

Will I be able to get the Surgery

I’m not sure what you mean when you say revision from the balloon? There’s no revision needed as I stated I lost 17.20lbs however, it wasn’t effective as I’d liked. Thanks for your feedback!

Will I be able to get the Surgery

No I haven’t had my first appointment yet. I don’t think I have any comorbidities issues. Also, I’d rather do the surgery here, but thanks.

    Comorbidities and weight loss approval

Oh ok so your BMI is 35 I see, now I understand. Believe me I’d love to keep the money and insurance pay but, I’m not sure my BMI is enough even being obese. I hope, I pray they say I can self pay even if insurance doesn’t pay.

    Comorbidities and weight loss approval

Well, I pray I don't have any issues honestly I don't mind paying I just hope I can get it even if I have to pay. I pray things go well for you too, however you have hypertension isn't that one of the things that is covered and also your BMI is 40.4 I think you will qualify, let me know how things go I pray it works out for you I really do this is expensive, but an expense I'm willing to pay.

    Comorbidities and weight loss approval

I get it I had the Orbera Balloon inserted in October 2017 had it in for 6 months lost about 24lbs and as soon as it was out I could look at food and gain weight, at the time I went to get the Orbera Balloon I was 212 at 5"3 and would have probably qualified thru my insurance but, of course my doctor did not tell me anything about any other option not saying it was his fault because honestly I should have did my research to see if that was an option then and when I went back into to see him after the removal, I asked him would I have qualified and he said more then likely but, I had already lost 24 lbs so therefore I wouldn't at the time in April 2017 after the removal I was a bit pissed because the Orbera cost me $8900 self pay and I could have just went with the insurance and gotten the sleeve, I'm currently 198 consider obese but, I don't think the insurance will cover it now because, I do not have any of the illnesses that come with BMI of 35 such as hypertension at least I don't think nor do I have high blood pressure or cholesterol issues, but nonetheless I'm going with a doctor closer to my home because the other doctor that inserted the balloon was 3 hours away going and coming back for a total of 6 hours for a 30 minute appt. I was sick of that drive. I told this new doctors office if I have to be self pay I would pay the $28k she said she would still check with the insurance because there are several other factors. However, I will self pay if need be because, I cannot allow myself to get out of control so many have passed away in my family from weight and various other weight related issues and I don't want that for myself I want to catch this now. So I said all that to say I understand. Its a lot of money but I just thank goodness we have it if need be, but of course if insurance will pay I'd rather use it but, it will not be my deciding factor if the doctor say I can get the surgery, but can't use the insurance. 1st consult is September 4th. I pray they allow me to get it even if the insurance doesn't pay for it.
