I too had VSG for my IIH aka psuedotumor. I am a year post surgery. It did not completely help but I am healthier and stronger. I still have some bad days but nothing like before surgery. I also have not reached my goal weight either.

I have shared a boba drink with my husband... by share, I mean, I eat the boba and he drinks the drink. I can't eat much but a fee satisfies my cravings. I am almost at my year anniversary since surgery.

What did you do with your old clothes and pictures after weight loss surgery success
Makuahine replied to Summer56's topic in The Gals' Room
I am only 6m post OP and have a long way to go. I donated most of my clothes that were to big. I will keep my pictures... I feel it is a reminder of my struggle and where I do not want to be again. Plus they are memories with my family and friends. I am taking a lot more now, allowing myself in the moment. -
I did after my surgery too. I was sad, angry, I even thought, "why did I do this?" too. I realized after I started eating real food again, my body adjusted and my taste buds changed. And continue to change even now(6m post op) I can't most stomach fast foods, it taste funny even tho it smells great. Restaurants I use to love, I find the foods aren't as good either. ... I'm finding my home cooked foods and meal preps are everything now and I really enjoy them. I hope that you will find the balance that is right for you too. Until then, maybe pack your drinks, soft foods you do enjoy everywhere you go.

True, I absolutely have excess skin, I think that is why she suggests I strive for 100. But I want to start weight lifting to build muscles. I got a ways to go to hit my goal either way!

I had a similar conversation with a friend recently, (my BMI is supposed to be 100 lbs. I would be happy at 135-145! But my nutritionist suggested if I strive toward closer to my BMI, when the natural weight gain happens, I will be around 125.... ) she completely didn't see the point of getting so tiny and it really confused me. . I am so glad to share this with someone.

Makuahine replied to dbbonoso's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do! I was told it was normal for most woman after this surgery. It was a topic at my 3 month post op group appt. She joked and asked if any spouses or partners noticed worsen PMS! I have even more blood and found the overnight 10hour winged pads were perfect! I haven't taken any pain medication, I definitely need to find something! -

I have 2 toddlers. I had to have my sister stay over for m-f and hubby did weekends. I made meal schedules. This lasted for 6 weeks for me, even then It was impossible to lift them for a bit. The babies understood I had a boo-boo and to be gentle with my stomach. I had my surgery in Nov and I still can't lift my double stroller. I lost so much strength during recovery, I do the walking everyday. And just started going to the gym. But everyone is different. I know a friend who went back to work a week later and biked it! I hope its easier for you!

Super embarrassing but need advice!
Makuahine replied to Abbey M.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine started the day of my surgery, Nov 5. and it ended up lasting a few extra days then normal, plus it was sooo heavy. They gave me extra pads and surgery panties and bed pads for home. However on the plus side, I completely skipped the next month... -
When can we eat salad again?
Makuahine replied to AnnaWallace's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my sleeve Nov 5, I was craving salads too. I eat a salad with my protein whenever I can. I have had butter lettuce, romaine, arugula and spinach. I cut the skins and seeds off my tomatoes and cucumbers. -
Clothing while you're losing weight
Makuahine replied to xMissyChrissy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My go-to has been leggings and jeggings. I bought some Leggings at Sam's, Costco and Jeggings at Old Navy in smaller sizes since it stretches. -
Anyone using the Baritastic App to track nutrition?
Makuahine replied to The 56 Bypass's topic in Food and Nutrition
I love it, it is a really helpful app. I had surgery Nov 5. -
I ate only one 2 oz item slowly all in one sitting. Then waited to drink 30 min later. I ate 2 oz again 3-4 hours later.
