About Me
I've been overweight for over half of my life and the first memory I have of realizing something wasnt right was when I was much younger. My grandmother was telling me that she had cellulite and was telling me what it was and then I remember looking down at my own body and seeing that I wasnt skinny. From that point weight has always been a struggle for me.
At the age of 11 I was put on my first diet and since then I have tried everything even being Vegan but none of it worked. When I was in high school my dr had prescribed weightloss medication for me and it worked for a little while I lost 20 pounds in 6 months. However the pills stopped working and I gained it all back.
I was diagnosed with PCOS (Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome) in the fall of 2014, I knew that this was going to be a battle for the rest of my life. However over the years I managed to gain more and more weight even after heavy dieting and going to the gym every single day for months. The only thing to show for it was an inch down and no weight loss. Suffering from lots of anxiety and depression, enough is enough.
I contemplated getting surgery for about a year now but I decided to take the leap and get the surgery. Luckily I have good enough surgery that it will cover up to 80% of the costs after meeting my deductible. My First appointment to meet with a weight loss surgeon is 07/18/2018 with Dr. Cottam at Bariatric Medical Institute @ Salt Lake City Regional Medical center. Heres to hoping that life will get better.
