    Where are all the seniors?

Dropping back in after a while. Turning 62 today. Just hit the 100 pound benchmark. Banded in 2009. Loving seeing the results lately. Sure can't eat what I used to and don't miss it. It is so great to get rid of a couple of clothes sizes. To get smaller sizes. Every 5 or 10 pounds help the blood pressure. I need to lose another 100. Was 350, now 250. Walking is bringing on atrial fibrillation episodes now. Taking some new heart meds. Mainly I sweat like a horse. Doesn't last long and not scared now. Love to hear from other seniors. Pat in Washington State.
  2. Just had mine done by Dr. Neal on 4/28 and am settling in on a continued Medifast shake plan. Only trouble was the blood clots after intubation, but I'd not had this before. Not too bad. I seem to be doping pretty good so far. No upset. Drinking hot lemon tea. I have laid in a big supply of medifast drinks. Also adding plain soy powder. Sometimes whey powder. Sticking to bland seems to work for me now. Really enjoyed the Dr. Neal staff support. I lost good on the pre-surgery Mediast plan. Not a lot of pain. Able to get around okay. Not weighing every day, prefer to check just once in a while.

I am new just banded on 4/28/08

Hello. I too was banded on 4/28. I am doing okay on bland drinks, hot lemon tea. Only trouble was with the blood clots from the throat tubing. Just haven't had this before. It's quieted down now. Enjoying hot cappucino medifast drink. Life is good.
  4. This is meant to be an introduction. I am Pat in Olympia, Washington. I have been on Medifast for a week. I am looking forward to surgery 4/28. My insurance would only do gastric bypass and only after a one year preparation period. I chose to do lap band on my own nickle. I can hardly wait for this to be done. I have changed to only water and herbal teas. I am okay with the Medifast, like some things better than others. It's great to be able to read your positive posts and how much everyone has lost. I am not weighing myself constantly but can tell I must be losing some, as I am not so out of breath, walk taller and straighter. Can't wait to ditch the handicapped parking zones and be able to walk more and better. I have diabetes, am on a CPAP machine, high blood pressure meds. Looking forward to downsizing my meds one day. I need to start going to the doctor's support groups. One of the persons who had lost weight and spoke at an informational session said she was delighted to get rid of the plus size catalogues. I can relate to that one. Pat in Olympia, WA:unsure:
