this always worked for me... egg beater in the morning half an orange for snack mid morning baked, broiled, boiled chicken for lunch with some good Fiber foods...like raw veggies half an orange for a afternoon snack baked, broiled, boiled chicken for dinner with some good fiber foods...like raw veggies do this for three days. i have not tried it with my band yet, i was saving it for my first plateau. i did this when i was dieting with a nutritionists help. i have done this twice, the first was to jump start my diet as i started the diet...i lost 7 lbs(and it stayed gone until i stopped dieting a few months later)...and when i hit my first plateau after about a month, i did it again for two days and lost 3.5 lbs, and successfully got my diet working again. this weight stayed off as long as i was on the regular part of the diet. i did not gain it back until i started cheating on the program and spiraling out of control...you know how it goes. oh, yeah, make sure you drink ALL of your Water, and go for a brisk evening or morning walk. Good Luck and Hang in there!

well, i need some opinions... today when i picked up dd from daycare, we went through the normal conversation. when we got about half way home, she told me that a little black bird bit her on her thumb, and she showed me her little cuticle that was split. i tried not to make a big deal out of it, as she tends to have a pretty vivid imagination. i tried to make conversation that would lead to her telling me more. i cant ask her...did the bird have teeth...because she would automatically say yes. she is just like that. so, i asked her if it looked like our pet parakeet...she said it had ears and red eyes. then she said it "scooted" away. she said she picked it up and it bit her, she dropped it, but it did not fly away, it scooted away. i am really concerned that this may have been a bat...and all that implies--rabies, etc. i called the daycare, and they did not know anything about it, and i am going in early and we are going to shakedown for the derned thing. but should i go ahead and make a doctor appointment for the treatment? i read on the cdc website that if i wait until symptoms appear, it is 100% fatal in someone who has not had the vaccine. does anyone have any suggestions for getting more info from dd(who is 4)? i pulled pics of small black birds and bats and lined them up. she did not pic the bats that were flying or hanging, rather she picked the one of the bat that was standing upright. i included some pics of sparrows and other small dark colored birds that i see around here. any advice?

as a matter of fact, i still have not stopped thinking about how lucky we are. i mean, not just that this was a false alarm, but how lucky we are to have happy, healthy kids. and a house, and food to feed the kids, and love, and etc etc etc. i carried one of her baby snapshots this morning, just to look at it. she had crawled under the legspace of the desk at home and was just sitting there, looking sweet, so i snapped the shot. she must have been 8 months or so...very cute! i keep coming back to this thread and looking at everyone's comments. you know, this is really a great community of people, and to see how everyone keeps checking back for the updates really shows that their concern is genuine. thanks again everyone...

hey all march bandsters... i wanted to share with you my latest news. first, my history...the first couple of weeks with the band, i lost about 5-6 lbs. The nothing... nothing...nothing...then my first fill. I lost another pound or so the first week, then nothing...nothing...nothing...then I got another fill. the first week...nothing...the second week---mild restriction---and now this week, well, my scales have been moving since late last week. i tormented myself by weighing everyday, and for all this time, i have seen no movement on the scales, so now i am anxiously jumping on the scales each morning and i am seeing a difference daily. i was stuck at 197/198 for the end of march, april, and most of may. today i woke up at 193.5!! i am a low bmi-er, and several of my bandster buddies out there were also banded in march, have similar start weight/bmi, and have similar slow starts. i just wanted to let you guys know that my patience is paying off, and yours will too!!:clap2: 13 1/2 lbs...gone forever!

ok everyone...all i can say is PHEWWWWWW!! after hanna slept on all of this, we took her to the daycare this morning and found out that yesterday she kept approaching the bird cage..a dark gray cockatiel maybe(?) I don't know what kind of bird it is, but she kept getting introuble. well, the teacher said that hanna and another little girl put their fingers in the cage and the bird bit hanna. the teacher snapped at hanna, and hanna cried. this was the first time hanna has ever been in trouble at school. and it just happens that they read a book about bats a few days ago...go figure... i am really grateful for all of your prayers and well wishing. maybe it was your prayers that helped us to get this resolved before my baby had to endure those shots. thank goodness this was a false alarm, but i really got a quick education in this area.

he has the meds at our local er. he said that if the daycare cannot explain this with 100% certainty, we are going with the shot. he told me to go straight from the daycare to the er. EVERYONE...thanks for the support.
