  1. I am very active , spin and yoga , and ride my horse in 3 day events which include cross country jumping . At 238lbs my poor mare and I could not make the time and my fiancé told me last May I was the fattest person riding . I said enough and headed to the doctor . Sleeved in December , in 190’s and floating down to hopefully the 160’s as goal . Best thing I ever did !
  2. My best friend since surgery is protein drinks made with almond milk , frozen banana and pure protein powder and PB powder . Every day about 200 calories and 35g of protein makes sure I get my nutrition . Yogurt , cottage cheese and spinach / egg fills in the gap and at 8 weeks out I still can’t eat too much real food , but get a little meat , veg and potatoes down . I don’t count on it for my nutritional needs completely yet

  4. Can I just say those protein bars are crap and why not just eat a snickers bar ? If it am on the run I go for a muscle milk drink in the airport ornideally I have pure protein drink in the car . I too carry cheese sticks or a wedge of laughing cow light Swiss cheese and celery sticks . The light and fit yogurts are great and pack 12 g ofnprotein for 80 calories . Even a banana is better than that processed garbage . Think about nutrition , liquid and more veggies and lean protein . I wanted something sweet on a cold night and could have done sugar free hot cocoa for 90 calories but no nutritional value or heated up my chocolate protein drink . I did the latter and my surgeon said “right choice “ feed your body and focus on health . Good luck and congratulations on your loss ! U got this !💪
  5. Oh happy day ..! Was shooting for a feb 1 date but pretty close , feb 9. Still a ways to go but haven’t been this weight in 20 years at least ...

    New here and just had surgery

    I’ve lost roughly 40 lbs in 7 weeks . 32 since surgery . I dropped the 12lbs the 2 weeks after surgery but then it slowed a bit . Maybe 1-2 “lbs a week- there is a week 3 or 4 stall . Then it picks back up again .. just reached “onederland “💃🍾 stick to the program !

    Keep ur eye on the prize , it will come . I started drinking a large glass of water with fresh lemon at night after dinner and a big glass of water upon rising and I think it’s acting as a diuretic. Nut suggested it cuz scale wasn’t moving and now I’ve lost almost 4 lbs this week
  8. First 3 weeks I was 500-600 calories , then 600-800z. Now at almost 8 weeks i am 800-900, but am spinning an hour a day and weight training 3x a week
  9. Useful info ! I am eating between 800-1000 calories at 7 weeks out , mostly the protein drinks bump up calories , not so much the real food . Getting 80g of protein a day which helps with all my exercise

    Everyone’s journey is different but rest assured of and when u can do all the steps it will come off . I had the dreaded 3 week stall and then week 6 stall and finally at the end of week 7 the scale is moving again . I think our bodies sometimes need time to catch up . I also have started drinking lemon water as a diuretic and maybe I’m imagining it but the weight is coming off quicker . My nut told me that sometimes the fat leaves but the cells fills with water so the diuretic flushed it out .

    Yup I am 201, just hanging around the hoop , waiting for it to happen ! Am spinning and doing weights and walking 10k steps , it’ll happen , boogie onederland is close !💃💃
  12. So I woke up 4 days after surgery ready to eat my arm ! This after having no interest for the previous days . It is just ur stomach waking up . I did cottage cheese, yogurt and soup and what really has helped (and I am now 7 weeks out ) is having a smoothie in the am with unsweetened almond milk(30 cal) protein powder and 1/2 of a banana that is sliced and frozen . Bananas really help to get that full but not overly stuffed feeling so I can go off and exercise . Ur sleeve will work when u eat real food but I found that during the liquid and purée phase I was more hungry more often because they just slid through quickly . I was easily eating 800 calories but then had a hard time getting over 500 with real food . Parameters from my doc are 600-800 cal, over 60g of protein and under 60g of carb . Avoid sugar . I am exercising a lot lately and getting 800-1000 now , but till losing (when I drink enough water )
  13. Wow, ur Gerd sounds horrible ! I had gerd so bad I lost my voice at one point . I had a BMI if 35 and did the sleeve and am now about a 30 BMI . I took lansaprozole before surgery and am continuing to do so . Haven’t noticed GERD any worse since surgery . I had a hiatal hernia fixed during surgery so hope that once I am at goal , reflux should disappear . Nonetheless I don’t drink or eat chocolate and those were the things that really made the Gerd worse
  14. I made beef bourginion for a dinner party this weekend and was able to eat 2 bites of the steak , like 10 minutes apart . I mostly ate the veggies

    Omg steve-o u threw up ? I didn’t think u ever did that ! I ate leftover broccoli with an egg and cheese this am- could only eat half so saved half for lunch . Ate it too fast and it was cold and whoops a daisy , it all came back up 🙄😬🤢. Kicked Butt in spin this am though and am now 1.5 lbs from onederland - but this is after up 1.5 yesterday so who even knows ! I am trying to distance myself from this damn goal. And yes I agree that one week is not a trend . I was flat for a week and then dropped this am ..oh happy day !

    Ironic , I am 8 weeks out from surgery tomorrow and have also lost 58% of excess weight . But downward trend seems to have stopped in the last week !

    So I tried to be very measured today with real food . Had whey protein in my green smoothie , then tuna salad at lunch and mid afternoon . Made a real dinner of salmon and steamed broccoli but could not believe how little of it I could eat . Will see if it holds me so I don’t graze the rest of the night 🤞

    So I started doing green smoothies in the am with unflavored protein powder - am again going to try to do just one smoothie a day and regular food otherwise . Did U have any luck with the intermittent fasting ? I do feel like I am grazing from 4-9 pm and that worries me - I need to eat real food and real meals and eliminate this tendancy to snack which is what got me in trouble in the first place

    Mikeyy , first celebrate your wins! Losing 150lbs is a huge victory ! I know it’s disappointing to have regained some and to have never reached ur goal . I think the “inspire” website has a plan to knock off lbs from regain , maybe try that ? Also try to get with a Nutritionist and /or therapist to try to understand why u are overeating . I just ordered a good book that was suggested called “we are WHY we eat”. In any case don’t beat yourself up (that never helps ) and wake up every day knowing that day is but one step on your journey . Try not to self medicate with food when stressed, personally I go do spin or yoga or sometimes I just go for a walk . Journal everything , good and bad that U eat or drink and try to figure out why you regained . Also don’t hold an unrealistic goal weight over yourself , some people are big boned and maybe that’s just not right for them . Let go of the judgement . Good luck and try to love yourself during this process

    Slow WL

    I don’t seem to be a particularly fast loser either , 231 on surgery date of 12/20 and 202 yesterday . But I Feel great and my BMI is about 31 so I figure it will get harder as I get closer to goal , I am about 35lbs from goal . My nut suggested drinking cucumber war to try to flush the fat

    I’m in the same boat. Am planning on hitting wonderland by 2/15 too. Definitely has slowed down, but what can you do, even if you do just a pound a week, it is going in the right direction. I have started to eat more as well. So that’s a disappointment.. but so it goes. I just get busy with work and travel. I am getting in my steps, but i think you have to really eat no carb and 600 calories to keep up that same pace. Not sure i am up for that..

    All good and traveling a lot . Tough to manage things , but doing my best . Cheated with 2 glasses of wine last week when in LA .. I’m stuck at 201 .. in the same boat , losing a lb a week or thereabouts .. kinda slow , but better than the alternative ...
