Stay the course , it’s just water !! Ur weight will be all over the place for 3 weeks or more ! Don’t freak out !

Mourning Food and Water
Lolo 2020 replied to michelle.boone27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It’s a process . I stick with cottage cheese yogurt and shakes to get all my protein in . A little fish or chicken , but can’t each much and I am 10 weeks out -
U will be fine - have a little yogurt or cottage cheese if ur starving , just not the night before surgery

Weight Gain After Sleeve (Seeking Advice Not Judgment)
Lolo 2020 replied to GetBack_095's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Gosh I am so sorry u r going through this . It is a hard journey and we all have to make choices . Maybe it helps to just make a choice to eat right and exercise for that day and not future trip . One day becomes a week, a month , a year . When I did my surgery I made an agreement to myself that I had given in to my impulses for 57 years and I was going to change . I haven’t been 100% perfect but I think it’s what U do 98% of the time . Good luck -
It gets easier, but truthfully i am 10 weeks out and if i eat anything to dense( ie i still cannot eat chicken salad!) its like your having major chest pains. And then whoopsie, back up it comes. Stick to the purées and yogurts as long as you need, good luck!

That’s normal . Your stomach goes under your right Breast at an angle . I had trouble swallowing water at the beginning

BMI Goal: is your BMI goal to be healthy or overweight?
Lolo 2020 replied to jultrim18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 5’9 with size 12 feet , and started at 238 with a bmi of 35. Am 189 now and the skinniest I ever was as an adult was 168. Shooting for. That, maybe a little lower for a 25 BMI. We shall see , already some excess skin.. -
It’s probably acid reflux , are you on lansaprozole?

Gastric sleeve Self pay...Any recommendation?
Lolo 2020 replied to Naturalz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I live in NJ and went to boca Eaton Florida in December . Dr shillingford was fabulous ! $10,500 and down 50lbs 2 months ! Started at a 35 BMI -
Maybe I misunderstood, I thought I said u ate pizza, a little bit at a time ?
-
Miss time is up , seems like U don’t really want to make the lifestyle changes that will get and keep You a normal weight . As they have told us , this surgery is a tool , not a cure . Sure u can eat gallons of ice cream or graze on pizza and get sround it . I ate a few Fritos the other day and had some ice cream - but u can’t do it regularly and lose and/ or maintain a normal weight

Not drinking water with a meal?
Lolo 2020 replied to shelbys mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am still having problems eating certain foods and eating too fast and I am like 9 weeks out . I throw up every time I eat chicken salad .. sometimes even cottage cheese ! I cannot eat anything dense at all. Am to the point where I just survive on yogurt and scrambled eggs with a bit of spinach ..also an occasional piece of string cheese or laughing cow wedge . -
6 month post-op weight loss
Lolo 2020 replied to NotActive1234's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think at some level all of us are emotional/binge eaters . U don’t get obese without pushing ur limits past actual hunger . I am an advocate of the sleeve, did it in December and lost 60lbs in 2 months . Still 20 to go but the surgery has been life changing . Even when I have “head hunger” I can’t overeat and you quickly learn to eat slow and wisely . Best thing I ever did for myself , I feel like I was released from prison through this surgery . I was about a 35 BMI. Good luck and go for it ! -
That’s amazing ! Steve you really look like u r at goal - do u want to lose more ?
-
Wow ! Steve U look amazing ! We’re around the same place - I am 195.2 since last week but I am hopeful I will drift down over the next 2 months to my 168 target weight . I seem to hold for a week and then with steady spinning and low carb focused eating with drinking lots of lemon water , drop 3-5 lbs . The lemon water makes all the difference! My “skinny “clothes from 20 years ago are now too big so it’s starting to be a challenge to dress for work and people are commenting . I really don’t feel like buying a new wardrobe 25 lbs from goal so I will just make do . But u look great ! Congratulations!!

No coincidence , drinking water makes all the difference . Lemon water is a big help as a diuretic.

Try counting the calories , carbs and sugar . Just so u know

6 month post-op weight loss
Lolo 2020 replied to NotActive1234's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am down 45 lbs in just 2 months after having sleeve surgery . It’s been pretty steady with occasional stalls. My appetite is non existent as long as I get my protein in . I work out a lot and am able to do all I need to on 800 calories a day . I stick with at least one protein drink a day to ensure I get enough protein . -
Are you keeping calories under 1000 a day ? Ideally close to 800 a day and under 50g of carbs and low sugar. I’ve found if I drink a big glass of lemon water at night it breaks a stall as well . I also spin 5x week and get 8-10k steps in and do weight training . The most a stall lasts is a week . U have to spike the activity and confuse the body I think
-
Hey cut urself some slack! I am 8 weeks out and have taken to just doing shakes some days during the day to ensure I get all my protein in - I think it’s a gradual process - I try to get as much of my liquid in before 5pm as I can and then take a pause and eat a little real food for dinner . I take a pause to digest and then do a big glass of water with half a lemon squeezed in . My nut suggested that or cucumber water as a diuretic and it works like a charm - the lbs come off . She said that I can lose weight and then the fat cells fill with water - give it a try

How many grams of sugar is too much sugar?
Lolo 2020 replied to Tejee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My nut said try to keep under 30g of sugar a day and try to go for products that are 6g of sugar or less -
