I love pure protein . It’s only 160 calories a scoop and a whopping 35 g of protein . I buy the drinks at Trader Joe’s and do 2 a day to ensure I get my protein because I just can’t eat that much yet . A little lower abdominal pain yes , sometimes if I eat something that doesn’t agree with me or I overdo

Mine did too , I am being bad but I am going stir crazy and need the endorphins. I am doing it mostly seated , not too much jogging and standing . Back was a bit sore last night , but was better with a heating pad . did an hour spin today , was motivated cuz I lost 1.5lbs today 😁

I am 57, turning 58 in April . Was sleeved 12/20 and I’ve lost 20lbs since starting the preop diet . It was quick at first but has slowed a bit to a crawl, and Numerous stalls but as long as heading in the right direction I will just wait it out !💪

Wow, I was sleeved 12/20 and had full energy within 5 says , I am drinking almost 70g of protein though and probably eating another 10g. Try upping ur protein . I’ve been walking 5 miles a day and did my first spin class today !

I also got a book by bariatric doctor matthew Weiner called a pound of cure . He suggests eating a pound of vegetables a day . Both of these doctors such green smoothies for nutrition and weight loss

I am only 2 weeks out but I was told 600-800 calories a day until I reach goal , 60-80g of protein and under 50g of carbs . Sugar should be Kept to a minimum i have a friend who did the sleeve and she said she really had to change up her eating and do a lot of weight training to get to goal. Cardio makes u hungry . If u check out dr vuong’s videos on u tube he is quite anti exercise for weight loss , says walking is best .

I am just transitioning to purée this week , will try eggs as well . Have been mostly still doing liquids , with a little cottage cheese mixed into greek yogurt. Am going to try tuna with yogurt today and. Also did the ricotta bake recipe and that went down ok , but need to eat super slow . I think we can do refried beans with shredded cheese so may try that and will try the turkey chili recipe . Bariastic app has great recipes !

I was sleeved the 20 th and have been doing research on purées and soft food for my start of this phase as well . The attached has some good ideas

I had surgery the 20th, haven’t tried an egg as yet. Ur cottage cheese and plain yogurt works . I really like unsweetened chocolate almond milk with protein powder , 1/2 a frozen banana and some peanut butter powder .. delicious

Omg Diane in philly , u rock !💪. I’ve heard that weight lifting is better for weight loss than tons of cardio - is that ur experience ? I’ve been an avid spinner for some time and ride horses competitively so am already in good shape. But some video I watched said if u exercise too much you get hungrier ? -
I was sleeved 12/20z. Down 20 lbs after 10 days and all has gone well , feel better every day

It is hard and I am just not going out to dinner for now - work lunches may be hrs but I’ll survive . I am doing this for my health and am just organizing social activity around non food activities

I just was sleeved by dr shillingsford in florida for $10,500. He set his practice up and worked out a discount price with a hospital just to keep people from going to Mexico where there have been complications . I looked into Mexico but heard horror stories . The price isn’t that different and much safer . The hospital and Dr were fabulous and my surgery was seamless . Recover has been great -

Everyone is right about ur husband, just ignore him and do it ! I am 57 and had a BMI of 35 and had spent years trying to get to my goal weight through starvation and extreme exercise , it didn’t work after menopause . I was sleeved 10 days ago and am down 20lbs . I’m not hungry and have never vomited . A little nauseau occasionally right after surgery but now I don’t even take the zofran for it z. I am walking 4.6miles a day and feel great ! -
Wow ! Hoping for that ! So it seems like it isn’t a steady downward draft

Hey Steve , I am ur same height and entered the hospita at 231 for my Dec 20 surgery . Lost 2 lbs a day s steadily but also just hit 219 yesterday and the needle didn’t budge today . I am walking 10k steps a day (4.5mikes) and was an avid spinner but everything I’ve been told says intense exercise will increase hunger so moderate walking is best to Light the metabolic fire . My friend did this last year and said u lose quickly for a week or so , then a stall , then a quick loss again, she lost about 30 in a month . Then it really slowed down , to like 10-15 a month . So it’s pretty normal I think ..

Amazing ! Congrats !

I had surgery the 20 th, doc said also dont step on scale for the first week because they filled me with IV fluids and still really bloated . But I walked as much as I could religiously and by the time I got on the scale (6 days after surgery ) I was down 4 lbs . I am post op day 9 and down 12lbs . Pretty steady 2 lbs loss a day but I am being letter perfect . 3 protein drinks a day , and a little plain yogurt /cottage cheese mixture . Just added in a protein soup and sugar free popsicle . Walking 10k steps , or around 4.5 miles . Getting 64 oz of water . Will do this till next Thursday purée stage, but will keep calories under 800 and protein 60-100g. Seems to work
-
Omg I was told no crackers!

Can I ask what everyone has during the purée stage ? Can u do beans ? Or turkey chili ? I guess puréed soups r ok ?
