    Watery Diarrhea?

If I might ask, were you having similar symptoms?
  5. Not the most fun topic to talk about, but I have been having bouts of watery diarrhea. It seems to come intermittently and I can't seem to link it to food, as it happens randomly. Today was pretty bad, and even trusted a fart I shouldn't have. My stomach has been burning and feeling just off. I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow. Is this normal? I'm concerned I'm going to dehydrate.

    Vitamin Patches

my doctor encouraged the patches (I had gastric bypass) and said he routinely does blood work to monitor. He told me I can do either the patch or capsules but I feel like the patch is easier and it was cheaper. I say give it a try, and if you feel like it isnt working just try capsules. you wont die from one week of trying them. I can tell when I miss my patch because i feel sleepy Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Good lord, I am over liquids! I keep eyeballing pureed foods and am so ready to put something with flavor and sustenance in my mouth! I'm 7 days in on my liquid only diet. I have 5 more days before I see doc for the okay to move to next stage. heaven save me, i haven't pooped in a week because of only liquids.
  9. I woke up in recovery in immense pain, and remember trying to tell the recovery nurse that. She seemed annoyed! Then I told her I felt nauseous and she handed me a little blue bag. I rolled into my room, where she gave the recovery spill to my new nurse and I was in and out of sleep during this. I remember a conversation about an antipsychotic drug given to me to for nausea which I vaguely remember thinking "cool...really?" I work in mental health and it is a drug that is usually given to patients with severe psychosis, but apparently, an off-label use is for nausea. Who knew? Then I had some amazing nurses from then on. I had a catheter (yay for peeing in bed and never moving!) so I did not have the misfortune of peeing myself. I got a heavy pain med, Lopressor, Pepcid and something else I cannot remember added intravenously every few hours. If I was hurting in between, I got some morphine. Believe it or not, the morphine wasn't at all as strong or helpful as I anticipated. The drug I got every 4 or 6 hours was wayyyy stronger and helped the pain. In addition to that, I got heparin shots to prevent blood clots. The first day I was walking. I had to walk twice. The second day, I walked about 4 or 5 times and took a shower. The third day, I was walking all around because I was so stiff and ready to go. I didn't really sleep all the well, catnapped most of the time. I could not get comfortable enough to sleep. The worst part of the recovery was having a large bit of mucus (I had a cold) decide to produce itself and the coughing-good lord, the coughing-made me feel like I was going to die. I called for my nurse (this was day 3 and I had this ditz of a nurse who kept forgetting about me) and I waited for 20 minutes before she showed up. Got me some liquid Lortab to sort me out after that. Now I grab my side in anticipation of pain if I cough or sneeze. I have a splinting stuffed llama at home, but when out and about I'm at the mercy of my body. Now I'm pretty gucci except for acid reflux and the inability to tell when I've had too many liquids or not because I feel so bloated and burpy all the time.

    Weird muscle pain?

I had surgery this 18th and over had back pain like a pulled muscle. I sorta chalked it up to the hospital bed and positions I tend to be in. Maybe it's actually referred pain, from the operation sites? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. update: just got cleared by doctor, so surgery tomorrow!
  13. I got sick with a sinus infection last week and was terrified it would postpone my surgery. After getting approved for leave for work, plus my husband getting leave approved for the surgery led to a lot of anxiety if the surgery was to be postponed. At doctors today and he cleared me! currently in waiting room for pre testing. I go the 18th at 5:45 a.m., first case Welp, pretty excited! Good luck to everyone out there!
  14. I got some gowns, robes, socks...toothpaste, toothbrush. Wipes, in case I cant shower and i have some dry shampoo I'll take. Prayers this URI or whatever wont postpone the surgery. I'll know for sure tomorrow.
  15. Yes ma'am, in Shreveport. I only lost the initial weight. Doctor did not put me on a preop diet, which I found odd. And I'm not looking forward to 6 weeks of liquids, but it will be worth it in the end. My goal is to lose weight and get in shape! Like Instagram model fit!
