Golf balls hurt! Sometimes I get a sensation in my throat in the morning, but a warm drink (coffee, tea) makes it dissipate. I am pretty sure it is saliva/foam from a night spent swallowing. Not sure if what you are talking about is the same thing, but others have this sensation in addition to their restriction. Or so I have read.

Hey Liz- I am in Bremerton! I was banded in MX and paid $8950 and would do it again. It included everything but airfare and prescription. My tickets were under $300 and the pain meds were $10, but liquid Tylenol would be as effective. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or are interested in a local band bud. Lots of luck on your journey! Brenda

You could mix the oatmeal AND aloe... Shake some uncooked oatmeal into a blender and add boiling water. Blend it, but remember it will thicken as it cools. When it gets cool, stir in some aloe gel. Or put the gel on after soaking off the oatmeal paste/mask. Good luck and sorry about your chemical burns. I had a similar reaction to hotel bar soap once, ouchies.

Fill Docs in Montana/Canada/ID/WA??
Morsaille replied to ttbseffy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dr. Fox and Dr. Neal both do fills for MX bandsters. I get my fills in Olympia with Dr. Neal, they are $350 with fluoro. Dr. Fox does not yet have fluoroscopy and charges $402 for first-timers and $250 (Maybe it was $225) for subsequent fills. Hope this helps a little, still WOW-ing that you are having to consider such a journey... -
My stats are the same Currently 275
-
I am sure that those with reflux have not done anything to invite it... By all rights I should have it. I eat later than 7pm, I still enjoy spiciness, and I have a relatively high stress level.

Has anyone seen "So I Married an Axe Murderer"? I have that conversation in my head...you know the one... "He'll cry himself to sleep tonight on his tiny little pilla"

Maybe it is an argument for a genetic pre-disposition to obesity? Your skull doesn't just grow or shrink, it just IS. If you were "meant" to be big and you aren't, it would follow that your head would be disproportionate, right? What hairstyle could we shoot for? My head is HUGE already.

I am game for a get together. You know... hypothetically of course.

You spelled it right. Fills are just weird for most people, some people swell after a fill, other people like me get nervous and spasm making it hard to even take a fill. So by looking at the fluoroscopy you can find the right neighborhood, but as soon as you walk out of the office, that could all change. If you are a sweller, you may not be able to take in liquids. The swelling would go down, but you would be dangerously dehydrated by then. If you are a nervous Nellie, your perfect restriction fades on the walk to the car. Talk about an expensive fill. ...bblluuup.. all gone Still others feel no restriction for two weeks! What? I suppose it is just easiest to say that messing with ones innards is a lesson in weirdness. That is why we try to sneak up on restriction since large fills tend to intensify our quirks.

I am goin to Mexico July 21st!!
Morsaille replied to vintagehound's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
:welcomeB: ZOE!! I am a Kuri gal too, banded last January. Things are going good! Welcome to the board. If you have any questions PM (private message) or email me and I will share my experience with you. I think you chose a GREAT doc, but everyone thinks theirs is the best.. In this case we just happen to be right! -
Yup, slurpees are carbonated! -and not just the soda flavors! It makes 'em light and fluffy. Ever notice the air pockets, light weight cup, or tongue tingle?

In cooking buffalo... make sure that you don't overdo it. Being very lean, it cooks quite fast and can get pretty tough if you don't show it some love. It is VERY good in chili!

I grow a lot of my own produce or buy it at the local farmers market. If I am looking for something exotic, they almost always have it at a Central Market. Right now I am growing salad greens/lettuce, beets (you can eat the greens too), onions, squash, melon, peppers, peas, rhubarb, sunflowers, apples, plums, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, and numerous herbs. I use the weedy stuff too like dandelion, chickweed, and cleavers. I try and preserve what I can, when I can because seasons are so short. Is this what you were asking? Is this too extreme of an example?

Surgery tomorrow and I only have one concern...urine sample???
Morsaille replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had to do a urine sample the night before surgery, being in MX means everything happens QUICK. The day I arrived was testing and orientation in the hospital, I had surgery at 6am the next morning. I could drink as much water as I wanted or needed up until... was it 10? It is usually 10pm, isn't it? -

I actually have a fear of Elmo. and I am dead serious, although I think every mother has a slight tinge of this fear. but i have had horrid nightmares of that little red freak and can't stand to even hear his voice. LOL So we do not watch pbs. I am cracking up - out of total sympathy. I LOATHE Thomas the Train Engine. Trains shouldn't have faces, there, I said it! *shivers* As for Noggin, it sounds like a good reason to invest in cable. I have been skipping it since I don't want to support my TV habit. I figure Barney is as good a deterrent as any. Although I actually enjoy Big Big World.

My little girl is a huge car fan is did very well with CARS. We go to the drive in because it just isn't worth the fighting with my child and strangers at a theater. CARS played with THE WILD which was pretty stupid. My DH and D fell asleep and I was jealous! It was MADAGASCAR with a little LION KING thrown in. I suppose they wanted to show off the graphics. I can understand the NEMO thing, but we have worn out a movie called ELMO IN GROUCHLAND. When Soren fell big time for the little red one, my husband found the DVD in the discount bin and brought it home. I can quote it at will and perform all of the songs. I mean seriously, it will barely play and freezes in the last 10 minutes! Thats OK, I can do the big finish solo... We NetFlix and love it! Less than $20 for three movies at a time. We barely watch TV anymore. Which is good because TV programming isn't fit for children. We either watch PBS or movies. LAKEHOUSE is on our wait list, as is OVER THE HEDGE. My husband watches MadTV, I heard one of the characters say that WALK THE LINE was RAY for white people, you know what? He was right! Drugs, infidelity, high profile music career...

It was the last thing I wanted to hear when it happened to me, but the only answer to cankles is MORE water. We are practically swimming most of the time, and the heat makes it worse, but water is the only way to get rid of the swelling without diuretics (which do only perpetuate it in the long run). Sorry, Brenda

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=20086&highlight=fought I think this is the thread that discusses the legal process with Obesity Law who you should contact especially if you can prove medical necessity.
-
I think NWWLS is an option too. Check your providers list that insurance usually gives out if you are looking to go through them. You should be able to prove medical necessity with an insulin habit like that . There are a few in Seattle and even a surgeon in Shelton (I think). I am in Bremerton, but was banded in Mexico. Feel free to contact me.

Congrats on the 26 pounds! That is SUPER! That being said... you know this could take between 4-6 months to get restriction right? Many get it earlier, but you could be playing with loss, gain, loss for quite awhile. Maybe you didn't need a fill at 4 weeks, but you need one now. I hope you and your fill contact are able to get together soon. Be a nuisance... maybe? Be the squeaky wheel and it may get you on the schedule even before she makes it back into town. Much luck! I understand that! I couldn't handle the protein powder! You are braver than I am. I sucked it up and bought the slim fast low carb 4 packs. Normally I am not a chocolate lover, but it disguises the protein flavor better than vanilla or strawberry do. They come in 4 packs and I would have been lost without them. The powder made my tongue feel like I had been licking barnyard critters, blech...

Sashimi girl here. Good stuff. After my last fill I gave up on rice, but have always preferred the flavors one or two at a time anyhoo.
-
You are going to be a little messed up for the first week. It is OK. I didn't do much of the meat thing because I couldn't calculate the carbs easily. Bar, shake, Bar, Shake, Bar, Shake, Bar, Shake, Bar, Shake, Bar... <- that is about 24 carbs! It gets tiresome and you can shake it up a little, maybe two bars in a row . I had a low carb Soup once during the Kuri diet until I realized it had over 2000 mg of sodium! My ankles puffed before my eyes. Every doc is different so each of us has a specific pre-op regime. Mix & match is just not the way to go. Find other Kuri bandsters and ask them how they got through it...
