How long have you been obese?
jesseycakes replied to mousecat88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After having baby #3 13 months after baby #2. I got on the Depo shot and my weight never went down. I was at 180. I stayed the same after baby #4 and #5. Then I slowly started gaining weight. I got up to 265. Had surgery about 12 weeks ago. I'm down to 220. That would never have happened with out surgery. I'm going to the gym now too! Never would have been motivated to go to the gym before, especially at that weight. -
Wow! What a difference and you look sp much younger! Sent from my LGL59BL using BariatricPal mobile app

Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
jesseycakes replied to J Johnston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think saying you're having surgery is enough. No one needs to know what kind or why. If they check on you it's because they care. Most people have surgery because something is wrong, so just say, "I'm feeling better. Thank you." I don't know that most people will say, why what's wrong with you? They will probably just ask, are you okay? "I will be!" Just my opinion. I didn't tell anyone either, but I had people ask if I was ok or feeling better after. Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
jesseycakes replied to J Johnston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My kids and my husband and one friend know. My son told his fiancee. That's it. Too many judgmental people in my life. Everyone has been trying to talk me into doing keto, not knowing I've done the surgery. It bothers me that people are trying to push me into it. Plus I'm so emotional post op. I've lost nearly 30 lbs in a month and a half and I feel like them pushing me means I haven't lost fast enough for them. So if I tell them I've had the surgery what will they think? That I can't do anything right? No thank you. I'll keep it to myself. Sent from my LGL59BL using BariatricPal mobile app -

My white(? I think?) blood cell count was a little high the last time I had blood drawn because I was just getting over a sinus infection when I had gotten blood drawn. Not high enough to postpone surgery, so he just wanted it checked. I'm pretty sure they took my urine test because they enjoy it so much. They have a collection of my blood and urine that they're using to frame me in case they ever commit a crime. Sent from my LGL59BL using BariatricPal mobile app -

I had my tubes tied, a uterus ablation, and no special lovin', and they still urine tested me. If there was a baby, I'd say that baby was the next baby Jesus. -
How much weight will we expect to lose? Gastric Sleeve
jesseycakes replied to AchieveGoals's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I went to talk to my surgeon, he asked me what I wanted my weight to be. It is half of what I started out as. He told me it was completely doable. 265 down to 130ish. The 60% loss is just an average. If you want it, work at it. Of course I am just starting out, so I can't tell you I've done it. But he also told me that he had to go in and fix someones sleeve because the person went home and ate a full thanksgiving dinner and busted her stitches. So... There are those who can't do it. They are the ones who only lose the little amount. -

Went in and they took some blood, I got changed, the nurse asked a billion questions. They had me pee in a cup. Talked to the dr, anesthesiologist, etc. They hooked up my IV. Couldn't find a good hand vein and had to go the bend of my arm (which sucked because the next 3 days in the hospital, any time I bent my arm, the IV machine beeped at me. Nurse finally told me what button to push to shut the dang thing up!) Wheeled me in, told me they were giving me some sleepy time meds, I said this stuff works fast! Then I woke up in the recovery room. I got a catheter, but I slept the whole dang time anyway. I got out of surgery at about 2-230, and didn't get a room until 10! They told me that if I was in recovery more than an hour, they would get me up and moving around... they didn't I literally slept the whole day (pain meds do that to me). I don't remember them taking the cath out, but I know it happened. I had some gas pains on the second day. I was nauseated. Threw up when they gave me liquid pain meds, and that made me pee myself. So that was fun. Other then that everything was good! -
Freeze a protein shake and pretend it's ice cream!!! You don't need that jerk, you are going to move on and find someone who loves the whole package. 😍 My ex told me I was getting too fat (right after having a baby!) and he left me. Best damn thing that could have ever happened!

Did the Dr. give you anything for heartburn? Mine has me on Pepcid twice a day. I haven't had any issues with it and I've always had heartburn problems. I'm sorry you have a cold. What crappy timing. I pureed some chicken w/ mayo, celery salt, and pepper today. It went down pretty easy. Maybe something like that or tuna would be better than eggs?
