I told some people at work. I find it's easier to tell people to their face. On the other hand I did not say anything on Facebook. People tend to be braver behind a keyboard. It's my business not theirs. You do you, and whatever makes you happy and most comfortable.

I am 10 days post op and I have had ZERO issues. Even in the hospital things moved along smoothly. Maybe it’s my own head just expecting it but I feel like this should be more complicated. Anyone else just have a fantastic experience? The worst pain I’ve had is from the blood thinner injections. Swelling and bruising that just won’t quit. Even nausea, I’m expecting that to kick in any moment. I know so many people struggle and I guess I have psyched myself out. Anyone else have smooth transitions?

I know rice, bread and pasta are out of the question but for pre- made mixes I notice that they use rice flour because it is gluten free. Would rice flour have the same effect of rice? This feels like a ridiculous question but I'm still curious nonetheless. Thanks!!

Thank you. I wanted to ask since it is milled and what not. I appreciate it!

I’m doing well! Struggling to get my fluids in but I think every one goes through that. The only pain I have now is from my injection sites of the blood thinners. I’m having some of the bad side effects of that. Otherwise this is the best decision I’ve ever made!! -

I’m doing great. A little stiff in the torso today. Lots of reflux but it passes pretty quickly. I think in another week my incisions will feel better. But I haven’t reached over a 5 on the pain scale. Im struggling getting fluids in but I’m trying. How are you doing? -

I was just sleeved 2 days ago on the 3rd. It’s been an experience, but a good one! -
Thank you for the reassurance. I need it. It helps to put me at ease. 😊

My fear honestly is the anesthesia. The not waking up bit. Pain and discomfort is temporary. I would just like to get to that point lol

Surgery today: Feeling hopeless
Selmeeka replied to elvira.dark's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First of all, I wish all the luck in the world today. I’m going in on Wednesday. It’s a very nerve racking thing to go through. My surgeon recommended this course to me that helped me have a better relationship with food. It’s called intuitive eating. If there is a class teaching this near you, I recommend taking it. It really is a lifesaver. You mentioned that you celebrate and reward yourself with food. Maybe finding other ways to reward yourself, new clothes, shoes or something that you have wanted for a long time. I come from a family where no matter the occasion, sad or happy, food is always the center of that. That’s been the tough part for me through all of this. My mother is a self classified “ feeder”. i have faith in you! If this is what you want then you will succeed!! -
Thank you so much for this! I’m hoping mine goes as smoothly. Going in on 4\3. Very nervous.

Psych eval question....
Selmeeka replied to KimB7811's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my experience the psychiatrist usually has the questionnaire sent out to be evaluated. And the ultimate decision comes down to the surgeon I believe. Ask your surgeon's office to let you know that everything worked out. Good luck to you!! -

The fact that you are recognizing the problem means you are NOT A FAILURE!! Keep pushing! I haven't had the surgery yet, but you all are so inspirational to me. And be proud of the weight you lost not what you've regained. I know that is easier said than done, however you have all the tools to help you get to your goal. You got this!! -

That’s the key. Getting back on track. I myself struggle. As for personal info I’m not sure. I’m still new to this site and to the process. It’s been so much information at once so I’m still trying to put the pieces together. I’ll inbox you if you wanna chat more.

I am seeing Dr. Ryder as well! I really like her the first doctor I went to was not very motivating. -
I have an apple watch that I really like. More than just a fitness tracker too. But alas I am an avid Apple user.
