Need advice and encouragement not ripped apart

I've been hospitalized twice from not being able to eat or drink enough and nauseous and vomitting. I'm finally feeling better. I'm able to eat soft foods which is helping but still need the shakes to get the correct amount of protein. Hoping I stay on track. Thanks! How about you?

    July Sleeve

Yes, I had my surgery 7/3 and I've been hospitalized twice because of not being able to eat and drink. I can let you know I ordered vitamin patches because I have a problem with taking the vitamins. At my recent stay at the hospital i was able to tolerate soft foods with the help of phenergan. Zofran and regland didn't help as well as phenergan did. Hopefully it goes away soon and you feel better!

    One week post op-checking in

I'm 2 weeks post op, down 15lbs since surgery. Pain free but having trouble consuming liquids and proteins. Starting to be able to tolerate foods that aren't protein shakes and yogurt is a blessing. I finally went into the pool today and swam a bit and walked so that was productive but still get tired easily. Sent from my SM-J727T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Poop

You shouldn't go more than 5 days without pooping. My Dr recommended suppositories and if that doesn't work I could use fleet enema and Miramax. But not stool softeners cuz I just had my surgery on July 3rd. Sent from my SM-J727T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Feeling sick

Do you like this vitamin? I thought about getting it but I lot of people said it tasted bad and they had trouble swallowing it? I'm curious as you your findings? I'm vitamin hopping at the moment cuz I can't find ones that work and I don't want to be taking 10 pills a day. Sent from my SM-J727T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Greek yogurt

I love the dannon light and fit Greek yogurt. It doesn't have as much of a bite to it. Or the chobani Greek drinkable but that has a bit too much sugar. Sent from my SM-J727T using BariatricPal mobile app

    July Sleeve

Hello! I had my surgery on July 3rd. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and kidney problems. I had a 2 week pre op diet that consisted of 80 grams of protein, a salad a day with fat free dressing, as well 2 cups of crunchy veggies and 1 cup of fruit if I wanted. For the most part I did great. I did have salad without fat free dressing and one day I had a bunch of taco bell which I know I shouldn't have but I was fine with having the surgery. I lost 14lbs pre op and I'm down 26lbs total from heaviest so about 12lbs since the surgery. When i doubt call your surgical coordinator. Mine was very helpful! Good luck! If you need any advice let me know! Sent from my SM-J727T using BariatricPal mobile app

One day post op-going home but vomiting

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I'm a week post op and thank the Lord I didn't really have any pain. I do feel nauseous a lot and I can't take big sips or I get even more nauseous. I heard the nauseousness will go away and I pray it's soon. I will pray for you as well. The journey is just beginning. Let me know how you are feeling. Best of luck in your weight loss journey. Need advice and encouragement not ripped apart

Thanks so much! I doing fairly well with fluid intake. I'm one of he few that loves drinking water so i don't need to add anything to it in order to drink it. it's just remembering to take small sips throughout the day. I have to say though that the sugar free popsicles have been a lifesaver for me. My stomach tolerates that better than water but I think my sips are slightly too big.

Need advice and encouragement not ripped apart

I want to thank you for your bravery in telling your story. I'm only a week post op and reading through your thread is giving me encouragement. Im starting to hit a lull where the food isn't tasting good and I''m having trouble getting all the fluid and protein that I need to get. Lucky for me I'm not experiencing pain just nauseousness. I've been horrible at dieting in the past and my kidney doctor didn't want me to have it because she said I'd just gain all the weight back. So that's a fear of mine. I have 2 bracelets that I wear. One says "One Day at a Time" and the other says "She believed she could so she did". It helps me to look at them as a reminder and despite how I'm feeling it's a good mantra to repeat to keep me on track. I have suffered some abuse in my past and therapy has helped me a lot. I might go back for continued support through this weight loss journey. My sister said I need to reach out to people who have had the surgery and that's what brought me to this site. Best of luck staying on track! We are in this together! Hopefully we can help keep each other accountable on this weight loss journey. PS I'm so surprised you weren't more informed about the post op journey prior to surgery. The surgeon and his staff were very helpful in preparing us for the procedure and everything we need to know afterwards. From the fluid and food to the vitamin supplements that need to be taken. Thanks again for allowing us to be apart of your journey!!

    July Sleeve

Hi July Sleevers, I'm new to this group. I had my surgery on July 3rd. I'm down 22 lbs total from heaviest until now. I really didn't have too much pain in the hospital and at home thank God. I do get nauseous. My biggest problem post op is getting enough water and protein. I think I'm going to go back to the premier protein since I got more protein per shake. I have a second follow up in 2 weeks to get off of the full liquid diet and move onto puree. I can't wait to be able to eat whole food again. I can pretty much only tolerate sugar free popsicles, light and fit greek yogurt, and fat free cottage cheese with Polaris all fruit and protein shakes of course. Any suggestions and tips because it's getting a little frustrating. I cant wait for the recovery to be over.
