Hi everyone,
I'm a first time poster, pre-op patient here in Raleigh, NC. I am about to be scheduled for DS in the next month or so and have a long-shot question about AFTER surgery symptoms.
Since I was a teen, I have suffered with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) pretty much from the crotch up. I am heat intolerant and will sweat even in the cold of the winter. I have to have a fan on me pretty much all the time or the lack of air movement overheats me and I am soon drenched from head to...almost toe. My father is, or was, the same way. His appendix burst years ago and he had most of his small intestines removed as a result of the sepsis; lo and behold, he no longer has sweating issues. And this guy, at his normal rate, would bend down to tie his shoes and come up literally dripping with sweat. I am much the same, much to my chagrin.
Anyone deal with similar issues? Did it change at all for the better or worse after surgery? I've had my thyroid checked and there's no biological (at least not an obvious) reason for this, and I'm sure that some of it is anxiety, but I'm curious to know if anyone out there has heat/sweating issues that have either gotten better or worse since surgery.
