My surgeon is very serious about success after surgery. The diet and the lifestyle changes required are tantamount to success.

There is so much more about me than just weight-loss surgery... Very Long!

You are very welcome and thank you very much. You have been such an inspiration for me and many others here. I do have my down moments and I would turn to food to try to feel better when I was so sick. One thing that Crohn's never took from me was my appetite. Many people with Crohn's cannot maintain their weight. I'm one of the lucky (or unlucky, depending on your point of view) ones who can gain weight. -

Yes, it is. Thank you. I never thought that I was a candidate for WLS, right up until I was approved by the bariatric surgeon. I figured that I'd learn as much about weight loss and eating right and if I can have the surgery, great. Otherwise, I'd be ahead just from the education. -

Thank you very much. I appreciate your kind words -
The online courses you had to pass before surgery would be scheduled. My quiz was written and done at the doctor's office. Then, I had an oral-board of sorts where the NUT asked even more questions to make sure I was ready.

I'm not sure what you are asking. What are you trying to do, start a new topic thread? -
I'm all packed and ready to head out when I wake up in the morning. I'll be traveling to Salt Lake City from my home in Idaho tomorrow for my surgery on Thursday.

Yeah! Good luck! Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!

The app is not intuitive, nor is it easy to change anything (it is possible, but you have to know where to find it). It is a decent app, but it needs improvement. The website version is better, but you still have to know where to go to change anything. -
@sillykitty you are the exception, not the rule... Most people are not as disciplined as you are even when you say you are cheating. (-:

To Those That Have Made Goal: How Have Other People Changed?
macadamia replied to White Sale's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Way to go on your journey so far! Very impressive and inspirational! Those are some very interesting observations. I'm still pre-op (surgery Thursday 9/6/18) so I have not experienced anything like this. I tend to shy away from people and do not have any true friends. I'm hoping this will help my confidence around people. But even if it does not, I'm still going to be happy about being more healthy and thinner. The people I have shared with are supportive, so far. I have only told two people at work and they have been great. My supervisor is a very vain person (and in very good shape). He is very cold to me and acts like he does not like being around me. I have always chalked it up to his personality being lacking, but it is probably my weight that triggers him. I'm going to laugh at him if he starts trying to be friends with me after I meet my goal. Luckily, I work in a completely different site than he does, so I do not have to deal with him face to face except for a couple of times a month. -

Good luck to you! Mine is tomorrow. My son is flying in tonight and will be with me until Sunday. I'm so happy he's coming to spend time with me! -
I've learned that I'm not really addicted to food either. I'm addicted to sugar and all of the forms that turn into sugar as it is being digested. My trigger foods are bread (in any form), pasta, white rice, and potatoes. Once I start eating any of these foods, I'm hooked again! Also, anything that is fried or breaded seems to trigger, but on a much smaller scale than my main trigger foods. I can say that fried potatoes, especially french fries, are the devil for me...

only three times? I had a quiz over my entire binder and I was told that if I did not pass the quiz, they would not schedule my pre-op appointment.
