If I were not already so far into the process, I'd definitely take you up on that offer! Thank you! BTW, I'll be visiting Albany next summer for the commencement ceremony for Excelsior College, where I'll be graduating from in February 2019. I hope to be close to my goal weight by then. -

Did your marriage or relationship die after you lost the weight?
macadamia replied to George OG's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Why, thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words... (-: -
How often do you weigh yourself?
macadamia replied to Tracy1978's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I officially weigh-in at my doctor's office every time I'm seen, which has been weekly so far. I weigh my self every day at home when I get up just to watch for trends. I also weigh in every day or so at the medical office at work. I do this mostly as a break from sitting at my computer all day. I stop in either before or after one of my walks. Again it is just for trending. I'm honestly not worried about the weight so much as the bulk. I want to weigh less, of course, but I want to be smaller. -
My NUT also said this except for the multivitamin, because the gummy version does not contain iron.

Are any vitamins FDA approved? As far as I know (AFAIK), the only vitamins that are FDA approved are the ones that require a prescription for dispensation.

Ride needed August 1st in Salt Lake City
macadamia replied to macadamia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I get it... really... Actually, I plan to call them later today to see if there is something I can arrange with a driver to come in with me and check in, then leave and pick me up after the appointment. Maybe if they do not announce they are an Uber driver, it will work. -

I'm looking into non-emergency medical transportation now and I have a call into the doctor's office to see if this will work. Thanks for the tip! -

I asked my insurance company but they do not offer (or pay for) any transportation services outside of Idaho. -
Ride needed August 1st in Salt Lake City

I thought about that too. Since I'm out of the area, I have not tried it yet. If I do not have anyone to drive me on the day of the procedure, I may bribe one an Uber / Lyft driver into doing just what you suggest. Good idea! I agree it is a ridiculous policy. -

Actually, I meant to say that they forbid the use of public transportation. I was just going to use the hotel shuttle but they said that does not work either. I've now edited my original post to include that. And I did not take your remark as snarky. I wish they would let me use one of those services. I'm ready to hire a homeless person but I don't think I'd ever see my car again... (-: -
I looked into the ones sold on amazon but after looking at the feedback on how some of them arrive, I chose to buy them locally. There are photos of people's orders showing up with shakes broken inside the boxes, shakes expired, and shakes being rotten while not yet expired. The local stores always have a fresh stock, so I'll stick to shopping for them there. Amazon is great for some things, but I try not to buy anything that is liquid from them.

Good luck! It's going to be awesome!

Actually, I did a comparison between Costco and Sam's Club and Sam's is cheaper per drink. But, Costco is cheaper than Walmart, interestingly enough... Sam's Club - $16.66/12 = $1.39 each Costco - $28.99/18 = $1.61 each Walmart - $7.99/4 = $2.00 each These prices are non-sale prices pulled today from their websites. My favorite is the chocolate Premier Protein Shake...

Did anyone just have a Panniculectomy?
macadamia replied to ariesgirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm actually trying to get my surgeon to authorize me to have the panniculectomy along with my verticle sleeve gastrectomy. I have trouble with my skin under it and due to the scar tissue I have between my belly button and my groin, my abdomen is very messed up. How much did your panniculectomy hurt? I've heard that it is pretty bad. -
Oh, I'm not worried about it, I was just stating what's so. With the two, possibly three other procedures that will happen at the same time as my VSG, there is no way to perform it laparoscopically. Besides, there is something in the way, preventing the placement of one of the trocars in my lower right abdomen. I'll talk more about that in a couple of weeks, after I get a firm surgery date.

Something happened to my post... it should have said to ask your doctor about the vitamin patches... sometimes this site is very glitchy...

Weightloss and Curves
macadamia replied to Boujee_Susie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! That is how I used to make weight when I wrestled in high school! Always take a big dump before weigh-in! Congratz! -
Thank you very much! I'm doing better... it's still a struggle with head hunger but I'm working hard on not listening to my head. I still find myself thinking about where to eat on the way home from work. I've been bringing smoothie for breakfast, and both my lunch and dinner with me to work. This way, I do not eat once I'm home from work.
