    Hello Everyone.
I am new to this forum but not new to the weight-loss/bariatric surgery world. I had surgery 11/13/2017 (gastric Sleeve) but first met with my Bariatric team Feb 2017. I had to due 6 months of dietitian visits before I could be approved by insurance and then I chose to delay my surgery by a couple of months due to starting a new job, hence why there was such a delay between meeting my team and actually having the surgery.
I never wanted to have weightloss surgery (but really who does) but when I met with my OB/GYN in November of 2016 I was told it was either weightloss surgery or Adoption as my weight was at a dangerous level for carrying a child, and due to my PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) I was unable to get pregnant on my own (well with my husbands help of course). We had gone through years of fertility treatments previously and put that on hold due to a close family death, and when we were mentally ready to start trying again my weight was more of a problem than it was before.
    Fast forward to now:
My highest weight was 336pds (when I first met my bariatric team). When I was discharged from the hospital I was at 297pds, and as of last monday I weighed in at 201pds. My first Goal weight is 200pds and under.....hoping for Onederland within the next couple of weeks. I am currently designing my next tattoo to symbolize my journey through weightloss and why I decided to get the surgery.

    Stats:
    Heighest Weight:336
    Surgery Weight: 297
    Goal Weight: Less than 200
    Current Weight: 201
    Height: 5'11.75"

So thats the short version of my story and journey

Maybe they just want a little more attention, things to be about them for a change. Maybe not.
I have been very careful to remember that I'm not the center of the universe just because I'm : sick, pre op ,post op, x,y z ... You name it. It can be tiring Carrying the torch, armour, bags, luggage etc without recognition help or at least a break and during these journeys we can get self indulgent to the max sometimes for the first times in our lives but other people still exist too.

    Have you asked him?
We change when we lose weight - less a dormat, more energy, etc. He could be insecure himself or it could be completely nonrelated. Any other changes in the family - work, etc?
I suggest going for coffee somewhere as a date and talking about it (not at home, esp. not in the bedroom). Be honest, say 'I am pretty happy losing the weight, I love being more active. BUT I know all my loose skin bothers me - does it bother you? My vajay-jay is a little different too. Am I a little less sexy to you now? Can we fix this somehow by working on it together? Do we need some crazy hotel sex, change of pace?'
My hubs has been 100% on board with any changes, we are old farts but only been married 21 years (2nd for both), but we still tear the sheets up!

Can you find your instructions from surgery and locate what level or stage of eating you are on? Stick as close to that as possible and the weight will fall off... Promise
But you have to do the work...

Yes, quite a lot really. I still have my hip pain but it's now mostly from a joint I won't let him inject (deep at the bottom of my pelvis). LOL. So I just have to lump it. I think my injection helped the SI and hip bursa although I think my other doc's injection on the left hip was better for the bursa than this doc's.
It's a give or take. I negotiate with myself if the payoff for being active is more than laying in a recliner and having a very similar pain. I take the activity as much as I'm able now. I know it helps emotionally for sure and also think it helps the arthritis pain too.

Fluffy- I currently have regular SI joint injections and they haven't been super helpful. Has your weight loss helped your back?

I still love fast food. Not only is it craveable and tasty, but it is invaluable for a quick meal. I’m just learning to make better choices.
@Frustr8 close In-n-Out??? That is sacrilege! Hamburger, Protein style with grilled onions, yum, and only 150 cals (I can only eat half)!

I'm in Georgia and they say more than likely I will have mine between 6 and 11am and will be discharged the next day or the day after and I'm a little nervous I've never ever spent one night away from my babies. I have a wonderful mom and dad who I know will take wonderful care of them while I'm in the hospital but I'm so nervous with leaving them. The thought of not waking up from surgery terrifies me. Is this anxiety normal also lol?

As I start my weight loss journey I get very emotional I've suffered from depression since I was 11 I am now 24. I spend from ages 12 to 18 in state custody. I survived many many suicide attempts due to being bullied about my weight. I now have 3 precious kids. She's 4, 3, and 1. I've got so many health problems due to my obesity. Liver, heart, and muscle problems. I'm 24and I weigh 310 pounds. I look in the mirror everyday and I'm disgusted at the person I've become. About 6 months ago I was told about gastric bypass for weight loss. I was scared at first but I've got my first appt set for August 1st. I know this is gonna be a long journey but I'm so so happy to start this journey. I want to be the mom who can run around outside for hours with my babies and never get tired. I wanna be the mom who loves taking pictures without hiding my stomach or my Arms and legs. I wanna go out in public an don't be scared someone is gonna stare or talk about me. I'm so ready for this change. Enjoy reading everyone's success stories also. Very encouraging. God bless u all on ur journey as well
