Hi All- It seems like I have seen threads for every month but September so I decided to start one. I am scheduled for a September 5th surgery date, and I can't wait. I'm checking off each requirement one by one and don't anticipate any roadblocks (hopefully). Just wishing the next several weeks will fly by. Would love to hear from other September sleevers.

My husband was supportive but had he not been, I still would have done it.

What did you love to eat pre-op but now have no interest in?
Jingle123423 posted a topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I have discovered that I have no interest in pizza or bacon. I never thought that would be possible but my tastes have changed and I have no cravings and no desire for either. I'm not complaining, I am just surprised. I love it! -
Other than me regularly marveling at how little I eat, I just produced my first garbage bag full of clothes that are too baggy now. It feels good to be donating and making room in my closet! The best part is I am still relatively new so I know there are many more NSVs to come!

I agree with you. It wasn't the most supportive move. -
Any in Boston going through BMC??

You won't be healed before the holidays. It sounds harder than it is. Most likely you won't want any of those foods anyway as you heal. -

Surgery on Monday! Dying for a Coke Zero!

Kick the soda habit if you can. I struggle with it myself. I used to drink a 2L of diet Pepsi every day. I stopped cold turkey during the two-week pre-op diet (with one or two slip-ups). I had my surgery 9/5/2018 and at first, I had zero cravings, but they have come back (just not as bad). I am happy to say I have resisted, but it has been the hardest thing for me to sacrifice. I feel your pain, but resist if you can. Good luck! -
Free Unopened 30 Day Supply of Bariatric Advantage Multi
Jingle123423 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi All- I didn't realize that I wouldn't need to be on chewables for life, so I ordered a bunch. I am going to be moving over to a standard multi-vitamin, which leaves me with a sealed 30 days supply of Bariatric Advantage. If anybody wants it or needs it, please send me a private message. -

Jingle123423 replied to Futuresleevie18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wonder why post-op instructions very so wildly. I was sleeved Sep 5, and I am cleared for cottage cheese, refried beans, ricotta, oatmeal, certain fruits, chicken and fish. -

It's so much better than broth from a can, isn't it? -

My husband went to the store, where they have hot, prepared soups and got chicken noodle soup, heavy on the broth. I then strained it. It tasted 1000X better than canned broth. I actually enjoyed it. Try that. -
Anyone lose motivation leading up to surgery?
Jingle123423 replied to Briswife15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think a lot of people have those second thoughts. I know I did. And right after surgery, I had a bit of buyers remorse. Now I am almost a month out, down 25 lbs, and am super happy with my decision. What you need to realize is all these foods you love and crave- well it won't be as strong after surgery. My kids had pizza last night and it did not bother me one iota. Someday I will be able to have pizza again, but instead of eating 3-4 slices, maybe I will have one. My clothes are getting loose, my energy is going up and my aches and pains are decreasing. It's already worth it. -

Newbie with a couple questions
Jingle123423 replied to JustMeInCleveland's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My stomach never growled pre-surgery, and now my husband calls it "my baby dragon". I am 2.5 weeks out and didn't get hungry for a week, then started getting hungry. The difference now is a fill up quick. My husband can't believe how little I eat. -

When you say solid foods, do you mean things like chicken, or are you counting cottage cheese and yogurt in that? -
It's just his fear showing up in his dreams. Think of all the wacky dreams he has probably had in this life that make no sense. Remind him that staying obese is a lot riskier.
