  1. Had a follow up Friday and I'm finally released to go back on my RA meds and to get into the pool again. So excited for the pool! Ready to get back on my meds because these latest weather changes have been rough on me and extremely painful. Hope everyone is doing great!

    August surgery ppl

Friday and Saturday nights I went to concerts - absolutely love going to see my bands. There were so many stairs. Ugh! Those had my largest incision site hurting for hours. Through the shows I just held the area and rocked out. I couldn't jump or do some of the arm moves I normally do but I still had a great time. 💜

Oh no @Aidanog! What a great doctor to stay on top of things. Glad they got you into surgery in time.
  5. @Frustr8 we have dried up in my area. The eastern part of the state isn't so lucky yet. Tell that pouch to behave! This evening was my first meal my pouch didn't like. :'(

    Highmark BCBS

Many times when you call the reps don't really know answers to those types of questions. They know their piece and not much more. There are so many moving parts to health insurance now that it's easy to only know a little.
  7. Congratulations @Megan Sadler! I'm not ready to buy new clothes yet either. I'm holding out as long as I can.

Glad to hear you're doing well @ZeroCool. The pain is normal? That's good to know! I've been having lots of back and core pain. I was hoping it was just my body adjusting. Lots of the back and core pain at work and have tried a new cushion but that hasn't helped at all.

How much time off from work?

After my surgery I was only out of work for 2 weeks and I have a desk job. I should have taken off 2 1/2 weeks. Those first 2 days were extremely difficult even though I only worked a few hours. Thankfully my boss is very understanding and has let me be flexible. But I wish I had taken off more time. I think the anxiety about receiving the approval is normal. We just need to know we can have it.
  10. @fullfiguredmontysorry you had such a difficult time & sorry for the loss of your mother. Sounds like you are on track and doing all the right things.
  11. For the first time since surgery I went to the gym today. Cardio only and not for very long, BUT I did it‼️ Yay! Good for you!
  12. I'm in a stall amd only lost 12 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery - so I've had those thoughts as well. But I think it's common to feel this way. We just have to get out of our own heads. You'll start losing again soon.
  13. If I have trouble sleeping again tonight I'll pick up some tomorrow. This weather isn't being kind to my body, especially since I'm off my arthritis meds for now.
  14. Yes, wear the dress to work. It looks awesome on you!!! Dresses with pockets are the best.
  15. Unjury is supposed to be a good one.
  16. Very restless night last night so I'm really dragging today. It wasn't due to wind or rain because I never heard either of those. Woke up at 2 and didn't go back to sleep until nearly 5:30. Haven't had a night like this in a long time. I want to sleep all afternoon now but if I do I won't be able to sleep tonight.

    The Fall

The Fall is my favorite season! I love pumpkins. We already have 2 out on the porch. I love pumpkin flavor but not so much pumpkin spice. The other day I took this picture. It just screams Fall to me.

    Gassy after surgery - Help!

Interested in an answer too. My gas is horrendous. But I mostly burp and burp a lot. One of my office mates has been on vacation so I've just been burping away at my desk. My other office mate does it when he wants so I knew I wouldn't offend him. But I'm worried for this week. These burps are hard to stifle and it's painful if I try to hold them in.

    August bypassers/sleevers

They gave me regular as well, which is what I normally take. Generally, the melt is more expensive though. The regular ones usually kick in pretty quickly for me.
  20. At least by 2 weeks after my incision pain was gone. I'm a little over 3 weeks since surgery and the pains, which are minor, I get now are more internal when I over do or something like that. The pain will be long gone for you soon!
  21. I'll try to wring her dry for you. 😉

Wonder if iron is the culprit.
