  1. Thank you, @ummyasmin. I think I'm going to tell my doc I want to do the same.
  2. Hi all! I've been a slow loser since my gastric sleeve in July and while I'm trying to keep my chin up, I'm beyond frustrated. I eat very close to Whole30, get 70-90 grams of protein daily, take all my vitamins, drink plenty of water. I walk at least 2 miles a day 7 days a week, do HIIT a couple times a week and lift weights twice a week. I'm also on 150 mg of Pristiq and 2 mg of Abilify. I used to take Metformin to negate some of the possible weight gain with Abilify, but stopped just before surgery. Now I'm wondering if the Abilify is hindering my ability to lose weight. Does anyone else take Abilify or other mood stabilizers who's had this experience? I'm talking with my psychiatrist about it on the 21st, but I'm just curious if other people have experienced this.
  3. Thanks for the feedback, @GradyCat and @suzysunshine123. I'm definitely going to be broaching this topic with my doc and see what I can do.

    Exercise

I walk at least 45 minutes (or more) every day and twice a week I work out with a trainer weight lifting and cross training. I really should do more, my weight loss would probably speed up.
  6. My weight loss has been incredibly slow so I'm doing Whole30 for 6 weeks (led by my personal trainer). It's helped nudge my weight down a bit but I guess I will never be a fast loser. I'm telling myself that's a good thing -- maybe I'll have less loose skin to contend with!

    July Sleeve

Hi, July Sleevers! I've been away from the forums for a while. I'm down to 183 and it has been sooooooo sloooooow. My surgeon has me at 1200 calories a day and 90 grams of protein, which I struggle to make because I still can't ingest a lot of meat at one sitting. My surgeon wants me to shoot for losing 7 to 8 pounds a month, but at this far out from the surgery I just don't see how? I mean, I barely lost much more than that in the months right after surgery. I want to get to 160 but I'm not sweatin' it too much, as I feel GREAT and I'm wearing straight sizes again (almost into a 12!). So, to sum up, I'm not breaking any weight or speed records, but I'm mostly making good decisions and that's a 1000% change in how I was before surgery. Hope you're all doing great!

    July Sleeve

I hit 195 a couple of weeks ago but I'm struggling to get in my protein and water. I need a good kick in the butt.

    July Sleeve

My three month appointment is today so I get to see what my bloodwork says. I had a cold for a couple of weeks and missed some vitamins. Down almost 50 pounds and feeling great though!
  10. Thanks for the inclusion of recipes! I'm always on the hunt for new foods to try.

    Stalled at 6 weeks

My weight loss slowed down dramatically around the 6 week mark, too. I think some people are just slower losers than others, for a variety of reasons. I have noticed a trend of more weight lost in the weeks I am really on top of my water and protein game. Just stay the course and don't let the scale define you!

    146lbs lost

You are adorable and amazing! Great work!
  13. I've got a nasty cold and I am lacking in any motivation to eat what I should or exercise. I just want to eat TOAST and drink HOT CHOCOLATE dammit! I am forcing myself to sip some water right now while I sulk. :P

    That sounds AMAZING.
  15. Don't beat yourself up -- we all fall off the wagon from time to time. The most important thing is that you don't let it turn into "oh well I screwed up, might as well eat this whole cake." (I say this from experience!) I have found that the best thing that keeps me on track is documenting everything I put in my mouth. If I eat it, it has to go into MyFitness Pal and I don't want to record that I'm eating junk -- even though I'm the only person that sees it. It keeps it more real and reminds me of what I'm supposed to be eating. That said, can you mix up your diet a bit now that you're on purees? I ate a lot of pureed chicken, egg, and tuna salad during that stage. I would be sick to death of beans and protein shakes, too!

    Help with Heartburn

I also had heartburn for the first time in my life after VSG. I take Protonix, which is great, but I ran out and had a couple of days without pills before I could get my scrip filled. I took Tums for a couple of days and it did the job. Now I'm two months out and haven't had heartburn since, knock on wood!
  17. 200 lbs. this morning! Woot! Next stop, Onederland!

I'm eating leftover baked beans and pulled pork for breakfast this morning. Highly recommend.

I still love soup for breakfast. It's such a pleasant way to start the day.

    Breakfast ideas

I ate a lot of chicken salad for breakfast during the pureed stage as I'm not really into sweet first thing in the morning. I also ate meat and cheese roll-ups, but I'd toast them in the skillet so it was warm and the cheese got gooey. Don't limit yourself to traditional breakfast foods!
  21. I LOVE Whisps. I don't think I've tried Just the Cheese, I'll be on the lookout for it. Thanks!
  22. I'm addicted to Moon Cheese (dehydrated cheese) right now. My grocery store had more flavors but Costco has 10 oz. bags of the cheddar. Sooooo good.

    How do you Move it?

I walk an hour a day (outdoors, with some hills) and work out with a trainer twice a week doing weights and strength training. There's a kickboxing gym near me that I'm looking into, as well.
  24. I have nothing of value to add, just wanted to say how jealous I am and HAVE FUN!
