I was sleeved on Wednesday the 11th, and really didn't experience much pain from my incisions. However, I woke up today with swollen, red, horribly painful arms. I'm icing them and taking my pain meds every four hours, but curious if anyone else has experienced this. Infection? Bruising from the arm boards that held me onto the OR table? If it's not better tomorrow I'm heading to the doc.

Sliiiightly overdressed for picking up curbside dinner, but I'm desperate to wear something besides leggings and tee.

Eating rice feels like shards of glass in my sleeve. I've added quinoa (in small amounts) to my diet with no problem, and it's got protein which is a bonus.

Me too! I never liked coffee but for some reason I tried a sip with Splenda in it about a year after surgery and loved it. I now have to limit myself to 2 or 3 cups in the morning or I'd be chuggin' all day.

Casual Sunday brunch outfit (the top is actually navy blue, not black!)

Jumping in with not the greatest outfit but branching out from my usual black and gray. Headed to a bridal shower.

I donated all my old clothes cheerfully. Except for one top I had that now doubles as a cute short dress.

I had a EUREKA (or DUH) moment and realized I don't have to eat 1200 calories EVERY day, but as an average for the week. So! This week I ate up to 1400 calories on my 2 heavy workout days (adding a protein bar and some extra veggies and allowing myself a little cheese) and 900-1100 on the other 5 days of the week. Lo and behold three pounds melted off this week. I'm so excited because I was ravenous on my workout days and just 200 extra calories have made all the difference. Yay!

I had a breast reduction and lift BEFORE my gastric sleeve, where I went from an H cup to a D. After sleeve I lost 90 pounds and now I just have two empty socks where my boobs used to be. 🤣

DAYUM girl! You're gorgeous and so inspiring! Also your brows are GOALS. 🔥 -
I got tired of hiding my arms so I got a tattoo so now I MUST wear short sleeves.

In February I'm getting a new tattoo on my upper arm and this is HUGE for me because I was always so embarrassed by my flabby arms. I'm not quite in gun show territory (yet!) but I'm no longer ashamed!

Salads were what I craved but I'm over a year out and still struggle with them, unfortunately. They're just so bulky. If you do decide to try to eat some, take very small bites, chew like heck, and give yourself plenty of time in between bites. And make sure it's a salad with some protein in it.

I really fell off the wagon this month with this challenge. 😕 I am going to do my flutter kicks as a fitness break today, maybe before lunch. As for decluttering the physical, I think I'll work on purging my "intermediate" fat clothes, the ones that I bought when I first started losing weight. I'm back in my old clothes from the early 2000s (luckily I was really into wrap dresses, which are classic) and I need to make room! Just 20 more pounds to my new goal! Hope you're all having a fantastic week.

Favorite article of clothing: White pants from Old Navy. Size 12, skin tight. They are optimism in clothing form.

Thank you for the words of wisdom!

Yep, back on the wagon as of yesterday, getting in my 5 mile walks, drinking water and NOT the sweet tea I drank all weekend. I had a party on Friday night and I ate party leftovers all weekend. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I won't be having a good cry today, I don't feel the need to. I haven't cried in ages and I used to cry at the drop of a hat! It's so freeing to not feel so emotional all the time. I feel...even-keeled and content. On the other hand, I've gained 3 pounds this week due to some lax eating habits and not working out over the weekend so that KINDA makes me tear up a bit.

Source of my pain? I have been so sluggish and sleepy the last couple of weeks. Diet, low iron, or my cats waking me up in the middle of the night to beg for pets and treats? Probably all of the above. I'm getting blood tests in a couple of weeks but in the meantime I'm trying to get more protein and B vitamins (for some reason I have just not been in a meat mood lately) and I need to kick those little assholes out of my bedroom at night.

Day 8: The small things that get me excited - going on a walk and NOT feeling my thighs rub together. They still touch, but there's no chafing. Win!
