Weight Loss Pre-surgery - doctor required
kjuno replied to CurvyMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be careful those kind of things can be hard. I had a meeting yesterday and they bought amazing smelling Mexican food as a thank you for our hard work that I had to smell while drinking my liquid diet and trying to focus. And today is my son’s birthday. I may cry when I pick up the pizzas and have to drive home w them in the car. -

I’ve been on the liquid diet for my preop and have lost 6 lbs in 5 days. Something that help before my surgery was approved was my doctor put me on adipex. It kills your appetite and makes you feel amazing -
Irish_sleever are they gonna let you go home today? I’m so happy that your feeling better.

VSGDavid I understand. I’m completely on liquids too and I have to make my kiddo dinner and can’t eat it 😫 except mine is 15 days.

LZN2512 they told me to add water to cut the sweetness. I was doing the same thing. I was just trying to chug it because I couldn’t stand how sweet they are but the water help a little. I started getting headaches too but I think mine is caffeine withdrawal.

I’m only on the second day of my liquid diet and it’s rough. I can only have the shakes, one soup and 2 cups of raw veggies. My 2 yr old son is a picky eater so I’m making him 3 different meals hoping he’ll eat one and having my family tell me this is dumb and I shouldn’t do it. I’ve come so far 😒 I’m usually really good at being my own cheerleader but today is really rough.

Good morning so I just started my liquid diet today I don’t get my nutrition class until tomorrow. These shakes are sickening sweet. Does anyone have any tips or just power through it?

Hi. So my surgery won’t be until December I’m getting the gastric sleeve. however I’m trying to prepare as much ahead of time as possible. Changing diet exercising etc. I’ve seen a lot of posts about people not loosing the amount they wanted to and I was just wondering what was the most challenging issues and how you overcame them?

I’ve been a single mom ( sole custody no other parent) since I was 4 months pregnant. My son now 19 months has an auto-immune illness. I work 10 hour days and am in my Masters program. So finding time to workout eat right and all of my doctors appointments on top of my sons weekly ones has been challenging to say the very least but hopefully worth it. I don’t have my exact surgery date yet but December is the target. I want to go to cedar point again, buy a bathing suit (which I haven’t done in almost a decade). Wear shorts instead of pants when it’s 100 degrees out bc I don’t like the way I look. Sit comfortably on a plane. But most important of all be around to watch my son grow up. -
Thank you I’ve been trying to read posts daily to maintain realistic expectations. working slowly on changing my lifestyle. I was a teacher before social work and wouldn’t drink many liquids since you couldn’t really take bathroom breaks so even getting up 32 oz as been challenging especially since you can’t drink with meals. I’m going to a very large family gathering today which of course revolves around food. So my will power will definitely be tested. I just keep trying to remind myself how much I truly want this.

I’m a single mom of a little one. When I have the surgery my son will be 2. He likes to snuggle up next me. I know I won’t be able to pick him up and I have family willing to help me but for how long before I start feeling better? Just trying to plan ahead. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to make this the easiest on my kiddo.

Thank you. Yes my family said they’ll help where they can. I’m moving my son to a toddler bed so I won’t be picking him up. I’ve also been exercising and trying to change my eating ahead of time. I’ll look for that discussion thread too.

Searching in Vancouver WA for a Mental Health Therapist

Hi I haven’t had the surgery yet but the psychiatrist that did my eval. In the process said if I need a referral to reach out to her. So I would suggest reaching out to the person that had to do your psych eval. Since they are in the field and understand insurance. My insurance carrier was less than helpful as well. -
Surviving the liquid diet

Shimmy shade you had to go off of your bc? My surgeon hasn’t mentioned that yet. Is that normal? I’m on implanon which is implanted into the arm.
