When will my head catch up

I have the same feelings. I was banded March 2008 and have lost over 130lbs. When I look in the mirror I don't see it, even when I look at before and after. Then some days I will see a slight difference. I still buy clothes that are big for me too. When people say I am looking good or anything, I smile and say thanks. In my mind I am wondering why are they lying and what is they want. I am hoping I will snap out of it soon. One of the support groups we were told it usually takes a year and half after the weight loss for the self image to boost. So I am watching the clock.
  3. Still trying to keep on track, I did get my Yellow Belt in Krav Maga this past weekend  I started at like 336 and now at 195. I am also in that in between size 16 and 14.
  4. It's been a while since I have been on here. I have been doing Krav Maga and keeping busy. So I started at 336 and now I am around 207, still working hard.
  5. So I have been doing Krav Maga, since doing it I have lost more inches, so someone at worked asked me if I was on crackhead diet since I lost so much. I told him no, that I was in training to be a cage fighter and he better look out.

    Really only for "health reasons?"

I did it for both reasons. I had sleep apena, arthritis in my knees, high blood pressure. But I was also tired of getting the looks from people, the heart breaks, and yes the clothing. Now the problem is that I don't know how to handle the positive attention (from guys). Do we have a thread about? If not we need one haha.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I didn't exercise at all last week, I had strep throat, but hey that also restricted what I ate haha. I have read that if you exercise to make sure that do you it around the same time each day. I don't know where I read that though. We are allowed 30 minutes of exercise time at work so a group of us work out from 5:15pm to 5:45pm four days a week. Working out with a group helps me stick to the exercising.
  8. I am starting to notice the differences. Guys are starting to notice me. I'm afraid that anytime a guy talks to me, I will always wonder if they would talked to me pre-lapband.

    Keeping it a secret?

I don't volunteer the information but if someone asks how I lost so much weight I tell them. Usually I get a "wow that's great" or "oh I know someone who is considering having the lapband, how was the recovery..."
  10. I think because I started out so heavy (336) it made it easier to lose the more I moved. I try to keep myself occupied too, if I get bored I start the grazing. The important thing is that I keep in mind that if I slip up its ok. Everyone is going to slip up and I don't get too har on myself. I do my best to avoid potatos and bread, a hard thing to do here in the south, where we fry everything in bacon grease. I eat a lot of of those 3 oz cans of albacore tuna. I work out every day, either walk, tae bo, or run up and down the halls at work like a crazed woman but that's always work related for the crazed running. Some days I have restriction and know when to start, some days I have to measure the food out or I will try to eat more than I should. On the days I feel I like I am eating more than I should, I go for low calorie foods, I count the calories that day.

  11. Hey! i saw one of your posts on another page....WOW 100 lbs! that is AWESOME and in less than a year! May i ask what you are doing to lose? I'm still having a hard time trying to figure out when to stop eating! Keep up the good work!

  12. 100 lbs! That is fantastic! In less than a year. Way to go.

  13. I would do it all over again, this time sooner. I feel 100 times better. I plan on going to Arizona for my Birthday this year and do some hiking. I would have nver done that before the surgery.
