I'm down 63lbs. I am scheduled for my third fill Sept 8th. I think I went too long without a fill. My second was June 12th. So hopefully third times a charm and can get to the smaller clothes in my closet.

The taste isn't that bad. It's really thick though. I have the fruit punch flavor with 42 grams. I usually make it last through out the day.

March Bandsters How Many Fills ?
Emmersglue replied to julietj1970's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am going for my third fill Monday (7/28). Its not like I am eating a lot in one sitting but I find that I am getting hungry quicker. Sometime to satify that hunger I eat a few almonds and get that "OMG I am stuffed feeling". I also have trouble eating in the AM, I just get too bust in the morning on my work days and days I'm off, I end up sleeping through breakfast time. I need to work on that. -
Shamrocks - Lets share personal goals to accomplish by March 2009!
Emmersglue replied to Tess415's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Everyone has great goals! Some of mine: 1) lose 100lbs 2) buy non-plus size clothes 3.) travel more 4.) have a new job (ok really not band related but would boost the way I feel) 5.) have tons of energy for more things 6) try the zipper line at our training academy (I was too scared to do it when I was in the academy because of my weight) -
Even before lap band I wasn't much on sweets except cheesecake and doughnuts but once in a while I would get a craving for a twix, my vice was (still kind of is) potato chips. I don't really crave sweets as much, chocolate protein shakes with bananas helps and some sugar free chocolates. Then sometimes I crave ice cream. I just buy one of those tiny little ice cream cups (260 calories) at wal-mart, they are like $1, and I end up just eating a 1/4 of that just to get the taste and get rid of the craving. Now chips, I tried getting baked ruffles and had trouble with those, but pringles light or the fat free satify the chip cravings. I don't really have the cravings as much now though. I think the key is not deprive yourself, give yourself a treat (choose wisely) but really read the labels and ask is it worth it?

If you are looking for a protein powder
Emmersglue replied to KayleighsMommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc's office had samples of this, it tasted pretty good, not as gritty as some other protein powders. -
March Bandsters How Many Fills ?
Emmersglue replied to julietj1970's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had 2 fills. The second fill was during a port revison. So I am now at 5.68cc's. I feel the restriction. Now I understand what everyone had been talking about. -
My first NSV! Share yours as they happen!
Emmersglue replied to HarleyGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
got a couple NSV's Well I'm short so I have to have the seat pulled up in my car, well my stomach has always pressed against the wheel, not any more!! At valentine's day, a co-worker was giving the ladies in the office watches. Well I picked mine out knowning that wouldn't be able to wear it because it would not fit around my wrist, well now it does. This weekend I pulled out a pair of pants I haven't been able to wear in 2 years. They fit!! I loved these pants too. -

Chewing Gum not a good idea I found out
Emmersglue replied to LundyLane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no problem with gum, I get sugarless of course. I just spit it out. Haven't had any problem with gas issues and gum, but I say that now... it could happen. -
My cousin was over last weekend and she made me go through my closets. She was pulling out my old clothes that were smaller in size and making me try them on. I kept saying "I won't fit in that" and when I tried the clothes on, most of them fit and other at the maybe another month it fit mark. It really made my day. I have gone down two sizes. Now I look forward to trying on clothes, use I hated it because I knew what ever I was trying would never fit right and be too tight.

My doctor is putting on phentermine
Emmersglue replied to mommy2kyler's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I took back in 1998 to 1999. I lost a lot of weight, but then something was taken out of it by the FDA and they pills then did not work the same even when I was off of them for six months then back on. Then like over night all the weight came back plus an extra 90lbs. I think the pills are good of you need to lose under 30lbs but I am happier with my band now. -
I take the flintstone chewable with added iron, love them. I also have liquid b-12 that I just squirt down my throat so I won't taste. Its not that bad. Now I need to work more on calcium and vitamin D.

My doc gave me 2 types of pain pills, I took the one with the added stuff for the nausea. I took it because I was afraid I would have pain, but it really wasn't that bad. I have one untouched bottle of hydrocodone and half a bottle of the other. But I do have a slight tolerence for pain unless its stubbing my toe on something, then zero tolerence.

Hi everyone. I was banded on March 18, 2008. I weighed 323 at surgery. After two weeks on my first check up I was 313. That really made me feel great. I go for a first fill on April 28, 2008. Everyone I work with says I'm shrinking, I just don't feel yet. I thought maybe a place like this would help me with the encouragement. I lost a lot of weight once with adipex, over 100lbs almost(gained it back plus more). After all that I still really didn't feel any different. I'm hoping to break the "I still look the same" habbit. My goal is not to be super skinny, I want to look healthy. I think I would be happy in the 150-140 range even with my height (5'3). I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences and reading about others here.

I love their tuna salad. Also their soups are great. My mom loves the chicken pot soup too.

Thought I would finally join
Emmersglue replied to Emmersglue's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My pain has been fine, hardly took the pain meds I was given. Hunger seems to be fine. I have a bad habbit of not eating in the mornings, so I am working on getting protein shakes in me in the AM. My stomach growls a lot but I don't feel like Im starving. But I ate a whole can of soup the other day and thought that must be a sign to get the first fill.
