  1. Just wondering... I have 5 more days myself. I could do it standing on my head!
  2. The pre lap land is the worst part. All the freaking testing and paperwork looping.. Surgery was easy compared to that.
  3. I called Lane Bryant "Lane Giant" lol

    My surgery is finally scheduled!

Yay for you! Welcome to the other side (soon!)! It's great loosing weight. A lot more fun than gaining it! (a bit harder though, lol)

    Happy Cinco de Mayo!

220 pounds! Wow! You must be exccited. I was banded last month and, let me tell you, the hardest part of EVERYTHING s the upper GI (that stuff made me chuck). It's going to actually be fun, watching yourself change. I am taking pictures every week in the same spot, same pose and I can actually see myself changing a little! I love the lapband and I think it is a cleaver little tool. It's awesome.
  6. Re: the above post Well this stinks... I was just about the make myself a sandwitch. Baked potato it is, then...
  7. Being thin will actually lessen your pain. Loosing one pound takes 4 pounds of pressure off your knees. Being thin and eating well aslo lessens your chance for a heart attack. I DO NOT think that you should take the asprin. I think it is seriously bad for the band. If they say, "don't do it"... there's a reason.
  8. Regarding the above post: Me neither! I was just wondering... the last two weeks, you can have anything that can be mashed with a fork... ... when you chew it, isn't it mashed up? I have a baked potato for lunch and oatmeal for breakfast and I think it's lumpier than if I had a sandwitch and chewed it well. Did you have any complications?

Am I Too Old For Banding Opp

I don't think that older people should have the surgery, either, but I think the cut-off age should be 50. I actually agree with whoever you're all disagreeing with. And I hate to put a target on my back, because I know I'll get heat, but I think that choosing to have surgery when the reason itn'st life threatening it a bad idea for older people. Especially older obese people, who are unhealthy and iffy to begin with. So, I guess I agree with Iamwiththeband, and I'm not going to be very popular because I said that :-)

    Feeling a little too good

You might want to call your doctor and possibly get an Upper GI. If you're not in pain (besides the expected post-op pinch and ache), then you shoud be fine.

    What do I do NOW?!

Lol... whe I had my surgery date, I went to In n Out, steak (and I don't eat red meat)... pretty much anything I wanted. I was in the state of mind knowing that I was goign to have the operation. If you're going to deprive yourself for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE... why not indulge a little now? My brother would always as me if I wanted Del Taco and when I said, "no," he was like, "Why not? You're getting the band?!?"
  12. It also causes band slippage. Sodas are just a bad idea, anyway. Once, I read that if you have more sode than you do milk, your risk for osteoporosis raises 87%

    pre-op diet

I didn't even have a pre op diet and my surgery went so well, I call it a "nothing surgery." I think the doctor just wants you to shrink the fat around you liver to make it eaiser for himself.
  14. My stomach was swollen for about a week afterwards.
